USAGE OF METAPHORIC MEANS IN ADVERTISING TEXTS 广告语篇中隐喻手法的运用

In advertising text, metaphor often takes a dominant position: it affects the will and feelings of consumers, prompting them to act. With its help, only the necessary and positive properties and characteristics of the product or service, their merits, are updated, which makes it difficult for consumers to evaluate them objectively. Main points of view of Aristotle, and those of some modern linguists (Sklyarevskaya G.N., Richards A.A, Black M., Zaretskaya, Y.N., Kharchenko, V. K., etc.) of metaphors are investigated in this research. In this article, metaphorical models used in advertising are studied. Specialists identify fifteen functions of metaphor in advertising: nominative, informative, mnemonic, style-creating, text-creating, genre-creating, heuristic, explanatory, emotional-evaluative, ethical, automatic suggestion, coding, conspiratorial, playful, ritual. Together with the above-given features, metaphors are considerer to be “a fast and powerful means to convey an idea.”, and in advertisings they lead to- brightness of advertising image; the advertisement is easily understood by the recipient; identification through stereotypes; the speed of communication (short texts give faster and more information). So, metaphor is defined as a hidden comparison, carried out by applying the name of one object to another, and thus revealing some important feature of the other.

DECOLONISATION OF PRE-SERVICE TEACHER EDUCATION CURRICULUM FOR EQUITY AND SOCIAL JUSTICE IN HIGHER EDUCATION 职前教师教育课程的非殖民化促进高等教育公平与社会正义

The transition from apartheid to democracy came with high expectations for a speedy transformation. The education system in South Africa before 1994 was rooted in segregation and inequality among the social groups that exist in South Africa. Hence, the education system post-independence has endeavoured to provide not only physical access but also epistemological access to learning for all students. Therefore, the fundamental purpose of education is to provide an impartial and comprehensive curriculum. Pre-service teacher education is a critical component of higher education in any country. Thus, the provision of teacher education within institutions of higher learning is a crucial societal force capable of advancing a curriculum that is transformative and grounded in a framework of social justice. The objective of this research is to enhance the potential for decolonising pre-service teacher education to promote equity and inclusivity, utilising social justice. The curriculum in question revitalises social justice that prioritises the significance of the individual aspects of pedagogy, the politics of diversity, and the correlation between pedagogy and agency. The utilisation of literary voices in teacher education was deemed a valuable approach in examining the potential of social justice theory as coined by Rawls (1971), to contribute to a more inclusive and equitable teacher education curriculum, guided by transformative principles for pre-service teachers. A systematic literature review of various literature sources revealed that the integration of novel concepts and topics into teacher education is critical for transformation. The integration of indigenous knowledge, history, and languages into teaching and learning will critically engage students in knowledge, power, and being. Thus, the transformative curriculum through social justice will enhance parity and inclusiveness in the delivery of educational curricula. This research contributes to the discourse on the decolonisation process for higher education, which has long been predominantly framed in Eurocentric pedagogy in South Africa. Hence, an alternative viewpoint on pre-service teacher education curriculum calls for decolonisation using social justice theory.

COMPUTER APPLICATIONS TECHNOLOGY TEACHING: A CASE OF SUPPORTING SECONDARY SCHOOL CURRICULUM IMPERATIVES 计算机应用技术教学:以中学课程必修课为例

The purpose of this study was to determine whether Computer Applications Technology secondary school teachers receive necessary support. Qualitative approach was chosen because it incites the most important meaning from participants and best suited for small samples. As case study embedded this investigation. A case study was used for this qualitative paper with an aim to investigate whether Computer Applications Technology teaching was supported to enhance secondary school curriculum imperatives. Three participants were selected purposively from a rurally located Eastern Cape Education District. To collect data, semi-structured interviews were used. Data were analysed thematically. Findings indicated that teachers do not receive necessary support on technology use, this caused by insufficient school funds to render trainings towards upskilling human resource for expected content knowledge. The paper recommends that school authorities need to support teachers and learners as CAT is one of the vital subjects underpinning school curriculum. In conclusion, school authorities is obliged to render support towards developed computer literacy skills.

PREPARING STUDENT TEACHERS THROUGH PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHING AND LEARNING: A STUDY IN ONE RURAL UNIVERSITY OF THE EASTERN CAPE PROVINCE 通过体育教学培养学生教师&对东开普省一所农村大学的研究

The findings from this study indicated that the programmes of student teacher education are not implemented in totality as there is no module for Physical Education (PE) in the programmes of study in the Faculty of Education. This study aimed at investigating the preparation of student teachers through PE teaching and learning in one rural university of the Eastern Cape Province. PE teaching and learning for student teachers at a higher education institution means preparing future teachers in totality to acquire vibrant and active public schools. This study used a qualitative research methodology where data was collected from fifteen (15) participants composing of five (05) B Ed Foundation Phase Teaching student teachers, five (05) Postgraduate (PGCE) student teachers and five (05) lecturers from the Faculty of Education. Semi-structured interviews were used as instruments of data collection. Participants for the study were selected through purposive sampling because of their defining characteristics about the knowledge of the problem under study. The study concludes that it is awkward to train and develop student teachers for public schools without the knowledge of PE teaching and learning. There is a recommendation to infuse training of student teachers in PE, henceforth, as novice teachers get employment at schools, they are allocated among other duties, extra-mural activities such sport.

JOINT EFFORTS OF THE MEDIA, CIVIL SOCIETY AND THE STATE TO COUNTER RUSSIAN DISINFORMATION 媒体、民间社会和国家共同努力打击俄罗斯虚假信息

The article deals with the problems of institutional support of information security in the context of the full-scale war between Russia and Ukraine. The strategies and tools used by the Ukrainian state and civil society in the field of information policy to counter disinformation have been studied. Global awareness of the need to counter the hostile narratives used by Russia against Ukraine and the West is a real way out of the threatening situation caused by massive Russian disinformation campaigns. Disinformation cannot be defeated solely by closing channels or social media pages. Success requires the joint efforts of the media, public organizations, and the state. The authors of the article conclude that the most effective strategy for countering disinformation should be based on a combination of technological techniques for removing unwanted content and ensuring the dominance of the dominant mainstream narratives of the state in its own information space and in the information space of foreign countries. The authors have carried out the research on the resistance of the young generation of Ukrainians to disinformation and determined Ukraine's goals in the information war.

The main goal of writing the article is to systematically analyze the research conducted in the historiography of Azerbaijan during the period of independence, related to the historical geography of Nakhchivan in the 19th and 20th centuries. One of the main issues is related to the points highlighted by the authors from Azerbaijan in the researches related to the historical geography of Nakhchivan. During the writing of the article, both general research methods and methods of a special nature for historical science were used. However, the main methods were systematic analysis and content analysis. A systematic analysis of numerous research works written in this direction was carried out and they were grouped. Later, content analysis and comparative analysis of the works were carried out separately. The conclusion is that the claims made against the territories of the country such as Karabakh and Nakhchivan were one of the main factors determining the relevance of these studies.

Later, content analysis and comparative analysis of the works were carried out separately. PROBLEMS OF IMPLEMENTATION OF THE LESSOR'S SOME OBLIGATIONS UNDER THE LEASE AGREEMENT 租赁协议项下出租人部分义务的履行问题

According to its subject, the history of the regulation of the leasing contract, which belongs to one of the types of contracts on the use of property, in the legislation and practice of Azerbaijan, is still short. So, when the Republic of Azerbaijan was part of the Soviet Union, this agreement was not in our legislation. This contract, which was implemented after Azerbaijan gained independence, was previously regulated by the Law on "Leasing Service" dated 1994. In practice, the first Azerbaijani leasing companies were established in those 90s. However, the law intended for the transitional period did not meet all the requirements, so it was soon repealed, that is, in the early 2000s. Currently, this contract is regulated by norms systematized in a separate chapter of the Civil Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the significance of educational technologies in teaching and learning. The global pandemic led to the closure of educational institutions worldwide, prompting the widespread implementation of online learning as a substitute method for delivering curricula. The communication platform is known as WhatsApp has gained widespread adoption and extensive utilisation within the realm of education. The primary aims of this literature review are to examine the utilisation patterns and obstacles linked to the implementation of WhatsApp in the realm of education, assess the advantages and possibilities that students and facilitators can derive from utilising this platform for educational purposes, and comprehend the hindrances and restrictions that arise when employing WhatsApp in an academic environment. The literature was acquired through the utilisation of keywords that are linked to both WhatsApp and education from diverse databases. Having a thorough comprehension of current trends, potential advantages, obstacles, and gains linked to the use of WhatsApp is imperative for lecturers and administrators. Scholarly investigations have revealed a noticeable trend of lecturers and students increasingly utilising WhatsApp as a means of communication and collaboration. The objective of this literature review is to make a noteworthy contribution to the domain of education and technology through an investigation of the potential of WhatsApp as a learning tool. Additionally, this review seeks to offer valuable insights on how to effectively incorporate WhatsApp into pedagogical practices. The article underscores the significance of taking into account privacy and security concerns while utilising WhatsApp for educational objectives and puts forth recommendations for additional investigation.

The article examines the role of the use of modern technologies in achieving the military successes of Azerbaijan. It explores the role of recent technological development in various spheres of society, especially achievements in the field of communications and information technology, the launch of three telecom¬munication satellites of Azerbaijan into orbit, production of products meeting high standards at enterprises of the Ministry of  Defense Industry, increasing the role of local production in providing our Army with weapons, as well as the role of modern technologies in achieving Azerbaijan's victory in the Patriotic War.The article uses such methods of studying socio-economic processes as specific-historical, comparative analysis, scientific generalization.

The article gives a general description of terrorism. Including the development trends of terrorism in the modern era. The article mainly examines terrorism as a threat to border security. Attention is paid to the close links between terrorism and the drug trade as a threat to border security. The characteristics of the activities of terrorist organizations are also touched upon, and the activity of Armenia as a state that implements and supports terrorism is investigated. Opinions of researchers in this field are reported. At the end, appropriate conclusions are drawn.
