This systematic review on sexualities and gender covers 80 articles, published by the Interamerican Journal of Psychology until the year 2019. The sample, selected and classified into three themes by the thematic analysis method, shows a productivity raise in this regard upon the 1990s. Ever since, debates on sexual differences and roles amidst the sample have declined while productions on gender have grown, according to the first theme. On the second, it was possible to infer that such an increase had significant collaboration from the health areas, highlighting yet the importance of some health, sexual and (non-)reproductive health intervention strategies. The contribution of family arrangements and motherhood was pointed out in the third theme along with the lack of studies that are not only centered in cis-heteronormativity. Therefore, we outline our snippet from a genealogical perspective in Latin American Psychology, highlighting the importance to think of and to implement strategies that are closer to the psychosocial, ethical and cultural realities of the region.

The objective of this article was to know the findings about the quality of life (QL) in surviving patients through the review of empirical studies published in the period from 2012 to 2017 in the databases of Sciencedirect and Proquest. A documentary descriptive study was conducted, in which the following words were used as search descriptors: quality of life, ictus, and ACV were used for the research. 1679 articles were initially identified, 44 of those were selected based on their fulfillment of the inclusion criteria. The articles were analyzed according to the methodological design, the characteristics of the participants, the measurement instruments, the main results obtained and the limitations reported. A total of 44 studies were found, o 97% were quantitative, with the observational cross-sectional design with the most prevalent relational scope. The main issue addressed in the studies was the factors associated with CV; being functionality, neurological status and depression, the most reported predictive variables. It is expected that in the future, the research about the (this) topic will be made through mixed investigation or with observational, longitudinal designs, that include participants younger than 18; will perform evaluations (assessments) with specific scales, and will delve into the effect of cognitive and psychological variables, and care process in the life quality.

The aim of the article is to identify the academic productions on male homosexuality and the lesbianism of Psychology as a discipline of Latin America, Spain and Portugal during 2012-2016. The review was carried out in the databases: VHL, Dialnet, PsycINFO, Redalyc, Scopus and Web of Science. We identified 80 articles from Spain, 63 from Portugal and 289 from Latin America, considering the cooperative works altogether there are 420 identified articles. We classify the topics into 12 categories in order to organize the research approaches: attitude; health; family and love relationships and friendship; gender and identity; equality, rights, social support and education. By continuing investigating male homosexuality and lesbianism without questioning heterosexuality, psychology has figured the sexual (a)normality of the society considering that the scientific knowledge has effects on everyday life.

One of the impacts that COVID-19 has brought has been social isolation and teleworking. In this sense, telework presents different conditions to traditional ways of working from home, since in these conditions due to the COVI-19, there has been an increase in insecurity, fear and uncertainty. This study analyzes the characteristics of telework and its impact on productivity and well-being in people. The study was carried out in Ecuador, in a sample of 459 people who answered an online questionnaire. The results found demonstrate that there are aspects that affect productivity such as working long hours, personal skills, specifically self-motivation and organizational skills, and mental health. With this research, a better understanding of the situation of teleworking in confinement due to COVID-19 is achieved, allowing both individuals and organizations to develop resources so that work from home is successful and people feel satisfied while this situation lasts.

A cultural validation of the Interpersonal Reactivity Inventory (IRI) was carried out, translating into Spanish and reviewing its psychometrical properties, evaluating two-factor, four-factor and four-factor + one general-factor models. 386 university students participated in a non-probabilistic sampling (18 - 30 years old, M=20.2; SD=2.6). The reliability of the dimensions was adequate (Cronbach's alpha 0.66 <α <0.78; McDonald's Omega 0.70 <Ω <0.80). Confirmatory Factor Analysis showed good fit to four-factor model and for four-factor + one general-factor model and insufficient in two-factor model. Women showed higher scores in affective dimensions whereas men showed higher scores in cognitive dimensions. IRI 22 items reduced version shows good psychometric properties in young Colombian population.

The aim of this paper was to present a literature review on sexual assertiveness (SA), on factors and life experiences that are associated with its development, and on its function in human sexuality. It was found that demographic variables (e.g., age, education, gender), sexual experiences (e.g., type of partnership, sexual victimization), psychosexual issues (e.g., sexual functioning, body self-esteem, emotion regulation, resourcefulness) and cultural factors (e.g., sexual scripts, gender stereotypes) might positively or negatively contribute to SA. Furthermore, the outcomes of SA for both individuals and intimate relationships are presented. Based on this review, it is concluded that although SA could be fostered by training programs, cultural factors still withhold many individuals from reaching a satisfactory level of SA. Finally, recommendations about how to further the study of SA are presented.

One of the greatest challenges in the study of environmental values is the understanding of the dynamic relationships between different beliefs and attitudes capable of constituting a network of influence on consumption behavior, among them the disposition to material sacrifice. For the present study, 391 Brazilian participants, with a mean age of M = 35.39 (SD = 12.5), 148 (37.9%) males, and 243 (62.1%) females, responded to the Material Sacrifice Scale, Relatedness to Nature Scale, Frugality Scale, Self-Reported Altruism Scale and a sociodemographic questionnaire. Bivariate analyzes indicate that material sacrifice has positive correlations with the dimensions of all the measures employed, including frugality and altruism. In the multivariate model, it was observed that environmental values serve as mediators of the impact of frugality and altruism on material sacrifice, with the final model reaching satisfactory adjustment for the complexity of its structure, which includes a complete metric model.
