In Turkey, new trends, which are alternatives to traditional art production in terms of method, material and subject, started to become visible as of the end of the 1970s. In the activities carried out under the leadership of the State Academy of Fine Arts and accompanied by the intellectual efforts of the Academy teachers based on philosophical discussions in the West, graduate students they had the opportunity to exhibit new and different productions and to be visible. In this generation, many artists who adopted new and different trends, beyond the classical painting and art education in the Academy curriculum; One of them was Gülsün Karamustafa. In addition to bringing local political and cultural elements to her artworks over the years, the artist has exhibited a diversity of materials and attitudes; It has continued her production process uninterruptedly by carrying it to the international level and has become one of the important names of Turkish Contemporary Art. Karamustafa's studies, which have developed around the issue of migration-based cultural hybridity, which emerged in the socio-political field of Turkey after 1980, have a quality that makes sociological readings possible in the context of the political and cultural structure of the country. Listening to the migration stories of her family since childhood; The political background of her family members and her contact with Istanbul, which had a very active sociological atmosphere during her youth, enables the artist to create the main themes in her artworks. The imagery shaped by the period and environment in which she lived, in the context of a cultural transformation-based objectivity, leads to the emergence of products in Karamustafa's artworks, in which subjects such as migration, cultural hybridity, identity, arabesque and kitsch are mostly discussed. The artist has produced a sincere and original art production by simultaneously transferring social issues that she blended with her personal history in line with multiple materials and artistic expression. This study aims to evaluate Karamustafa's work, her life and the social memory of the period she lived in, that period’s cultural structure, political readings and her testimony in the context of cultural hybridity.

The realization of intrapreneurship activities is one of the important points in the achievement of a unique market position for the businesses to which the blue ocean strategy is implemented, and also in creating value for customers. However, in the implementation of this strategy, businesses need to make foresight and planning for how long they can maintain their position. In this case, the primary issue is to integrate the blue ocean strategy within the intrapreneurship relationship. In the markets that adopt the red ocean strategy, all competing businesses have intense efforts to win for the same business, while in the blue ocean strategy, there is a free market structure where the players are the same but different markets are located, rather than intense competition, aimed at creating innovation and benefit. The more unique, inimitable and inaccessible to the competitors, the higher the gains of the enterprises and the longer their lifespan will be. An intrapreneur is a person charged with generating and/or developing new ideas within the business. Today, it is seen that the popularity and benefits of intrapreneurship activities are increasing. In order to enter the blue oceans, which is an important factor for businesses to expand into new areas and increase profit maximization, it is very important for business management to create a policy to support intrapreneurship activities, as well as to create a new organizational culture that will support intrapreneurship. The success of the blue ocean strategy, which makes a difference in establishing the basis of the business strategy and providing competitive advantage, depends on the innovation-oriented, entrepreneurial culture of business managers. The aim of this study is to examine the "Blue Ocean Strategy", which is an alternative model in value creation, and the effects of intrapreneurship activities in businesses on this strategy in a conceptual framework.

The piano is one of the few polyphonic instruments in the world that requires a high level of coordination in both hands. For this reason, besides the composers writing works for the introductory piano, the piano methods of Carl Czerny and Ferdinand Beyer, two composers who only focused on piano education, are still used today. However, the technically different approaches of both composers to piano education constituted the basic building block of this work. First of all, Ferdinand Beyer's educational perspective was formed with the information compiled from the sources obtained as a result of the researches and comments on the composer's basic piano method. Evaluation in terms of school and expectations at the beginner piano level and an observation about the achievements of the students were included in the study. In the second part, examinations on Carl Czerny's initial piano method and the composer's technical point of view are given with examples on the research and work mentioned in the previous section. Finally, the data obtained in both sections were collected and comparisons were made in the last section, and as a result of the comparisons, results were written on their suitability for students both technically and musically.

As grammar was once perceived to be the essence of language instruction, for many years foreign language teachers have emphasized grammar rules in their English lessons. This practice was first challenged by text linguists who claimed that the context, the mind or achieving meaning are significant factors that need to be considered in language teaching. The second challenge came from researchers who conducted corpus studies. Their findings, based on the analysis of large sizes of corpora, started the ongoing ‘grammar’ or ‘lexis’ debate which is still valid today. This study investigates these two opposing views by providing a historical review of grammar and vocabulary teaching practices in foreign language education. By sharing different views related to the ‘grammar over lexis’ or ‘lexis over grammar’ dilemma, this reflective review discusses that grammar and vocabulary teaching should have equal importance in language classes in light of recent developments in foreign language education. To this end, this article discusses that in this era undertaking a lexico-grammatical approach, which blends grammar and vocabulary teaching with holistic attitudes, is a prerequisite for evidence-based contemporary foreign language teaching practices.

The first movement “Allegro Moderato” and the second movement “Andante” of this concerto, composed by Edouard Nanny and thought to be attributed to Domenico Dragonetti, which, although it was a soloist’s preference until 20-25 years ago, today remains at the level of learning and will undoubtedly benefit the student in terms of self-development, are the subject of my thesis (Sabuncu, 2021). During the years I taught at the University of North Texas in the United States of America, these two movements of the concerto, rather than the third movement, were the subject of this study because they were pedagogically preferred. It is worth mentioning briefly that the concerto in A major was notated in G major due to the solo tuning of the double bass for the performance of the work. The aim of this article, which is based on my doctoral thesis, is to provide a pedagogical path and recommendations for this original work through technical exercises and etudes that will provide maximum benefit for the preparation of this work and for possible parts that may pose problems in its performance. In this way, the study is intended to guide the student in the preparation of basic double bass technique and the two parts of the concerto under two main headings: “Intonation” and “Right Hand and Dynamics”.

This study aimed to adapt the Emotional Communication Scale, which assesses emotional communication in healthcare professionals in Türkiye, into Turkish and investigate its psychometric properties. This study has a methodological design for the psychometric testing and validation of the Emotional Communication Scale. The mean age of participants was 31.31 years (SD = 9.94), with ages ranging from 19 to 60; of the 197 participants, 46 (23.4%) were males and 151 (76.6%) were females. In the first stage of the study, language equivalence was ensured. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted with the IBM AMOS 24.0 package program for construct validity. According to the CFA results, the Turkish version of the scale has 14 items and 3-dimensional structure, as in the English version. The model fit indices of the scale were acceptable (χ2/df=1.92, CFI=0.94, TLI=0.92, IFI=0.94, GFI=0.91, RMSEA=0.07, and SRMR=0.03). The item-total correlation coefficients of the scale ranged between 0.510 and 0.643. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.885 for the whole scale, 0.838 for the communicative proactivity, 0.770 for the openness authenticity, and 0.680 for the listening. The Turkish version of the Emotional Communication Scale is a measurement tool with high content validity and internal consistency that can be used to assess the emotional communication attitudes of healthcare professionals. The scale can help healthcare professionals determine their attitudes toward emotional communication. Therefore, this tool will aid in developing training programs for communication, design, and evaluation of training processes aimed at helping professionals working in the healthcare field.

Examining the international sentiment of the national stock market and the return and volatility spillovers in stock markets have been a hot topic in recent times. This study analyzes the return and volatility interaction between Borsa Istanbul (BIST) and the DJI (US), S&P500 (US), N225 (Japan) and SSE (China) equity indices. In this study, the daily returns of Borsa Istanbul (BIST), DJI, S&P500, N225 and SSE equity indices are taken into account and the interaction between return and volatility is analyzed with EGARCH and TGARCH models for the period between January 2012 and December 2022. In the study, Hafner & Herwatz variance causality test reveals volatility spillovers and causality from DJI, S&P500 and N225 indices to Borsa Istanbul at 1% significance level. According to the results obtained from EGARCH and TGARCH models, BIST is affected by the lagged returns of S&P500 and N225 indices by 0.31 and 0.16 at 1% significance level, respectively, and by the lagged returns of SSE index by 0.04 at 5% significance level. In this context, it is thought that the S&P500 index has a significant impact on the returns of Borsa Istanbul, and therefore, it is a matter that investors should take into account the lagged values of the N225 indices, especially the S&P500, when trading or investing in Borsa Istanbul.

Natural disasters have affected and shaped human life and the built environment for centuries. One of them, earthquake, is formed as a result of movements in the earth's crust. This natural event, which cannot be prevented, can affect not only the area where it occurs, but also a much wider region, depending on the size of the movement. Earthquakes, especially in areas where settlements and populations are concentrated or close to these areas, can directly and destructively affect human life and the built environment. Earthquakes leave deep traces in human memory due to their negative effects. This situation also affects the collective memory. The said effect has been seen for centuries in Anatolia, which is one of the geographies where earthquakes are frequently experienced, as in many parts of the world. Earthquakes that have occurred throughout history in Anatolia, which is described as an earthquake zone, have deeply affected the collective memory from time to time with their devastating effects. Architectural heritage, which is an important carrier of collective memory, shapes the way of life, common values and building culture of a society with the effect of destructive earthquakes; it enables to read the formation criteria and development/change processes of cities. The Anatolian architectural heritage also contains rich and almost lesson data in this respect. The two devastating earthquakes that took place in eastern Turkey on February 6, 2023, strikingly showed how the collective memory was affected by the effects they left on the architectural heritage. In this context, the aim of the study is to reveal the relationship between the architectural heritage, which was heavily damaged by the earthquake, and the collective memory, and to contribute to the conservation of the said heritage in this respect. Within the scope of the study, New Mosque and its surroundings, which is located in Malatya, one of the Anatolian settlements most affected by the 6 February 2023 earthquakes, and which stands out with its symbolic quality in the collective memory of the city, were discussed. When the place of the building in Malatya's collective memory, its cultural values and its history, which was heavily affected by earthquakes, are examined, the importance of its conservation and transfer to the future is better understood. As a result, in the study, it is aimed to strengthen the architectural heritage against natural disasters that cannot be prevented such as earthquakes and to produce permanent / effective solutions; it has been pointed out that the collective memory of a settlement, region and on a higher scale, the country is of vital importance in terms of transferring it to the future and ensuring cultural continuity.

The main purpose of this study is to determine the oppositional behaviors exhibited by teachers during the pandemic process. For this purpose, teachers' exhibiting vertical, horizontal and displaced oppositional behaviors and the reasons for these behaviors were examined. The research was conducted in qualitative research design. The study group of the research consists of 40 teachers determined by maximum diversity sampling method. Teachers' gender, professional seniority and the type of school they work in were determined as difference areas. The data obtained within the scope of the study were analyzed by content analysis method. The answers given by the participants to the questions directed to them were coded and themes were determined with the codes created. The findings were examined in three themes: oppositional behaviors caused by school administration, oppositional behaviors caused by ministry and oppositional behaviors caused by personal attitude. Some of the findings of the study were that teachers with more professional seniority evaluated the school administration as unsuccessful and their dissatisfaction with the practices of the ministry was higher.

An error analysis study was conducted in order to investigate the errors of fourth grade Turkish students with regard to English speaking skill. Demirel (2012) stated that among the skills in foreign language teaching, the speaking skill might be the most difficult skill to acquire. There are various reasons behind the scene such as learning difficulties in speaking a foreign language, the continuum of these learning problems in the following years, hesitation of students to speak English and attend English courses, exam-oriented learning and teaching environment, and not putting the information into the long-term memory. Considering these reasons, the present study showed an attempt to examine errors in the speaking skill of primary school students. Error analysis is employed to find the sources of errors by making an in-depth investigation (Corder, 1974). In the current study, via a quasi-experimental research design, a 9-week implimentation was carried out to improve the speaking skills of the participants. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze of the data. The results of speaking pre-tests and post-tests in the experimental (n=17) and control groups n=(15) were utilized. "English Speaking Skills Rubric for Primary School Students" was used as a measurement tool. The outcomes were analyzed by employing Man Whitney U test. In the error analysis focusing on the development of students' speaking skills based on the difference scores, the type of sub-dimension that the students were found to be more successful, respectively, as follows: Task achievement 10.7 difference points (out of 20 points) 53.5%, Comprehension and expression 4.7 difference points (out of 10 points) 47%, Fluency 7 differences points (out of 15 points) 46.2%, Vocabulary 8 differences points (out of 20 points) 40%, Grammar and structure 8 differences points (out of 20 points) ) 40%, Intelligibility 6 points (out of 15 points) 39.6%. In this situation, while the most errors were detected in the intelligibility sub-dimension, the least errors were observed in the task achievement.
