In this research, the financing problem of the education system from the Ottoman Empire to the Republican period and budget applications related to the financing of education today in this context have been discussed. With this study, the financing problem of the Turkish education system as of the historical process and the current budget applications related to this problem were revealed by the size of the literature and it was aimed to create an awareness about the measures and recommendations that should be taken by the relevant institutions. In addition, document analysis was used as a method in the study. Literature review has been conducted on the subject, related laws (Corporate Tax Law, Public Financial Management and Control Law, Parliamentary Records, etc.) have been included in other documents.) have been studied. In order to access the main documents and information on the subject, the documentary screening method has also been applied within the scope of document review. In the research, different applications regarding the financing of education have been included in the historical process, and today, budget applications related to the financing of education have been revealed. It has also been determined that what has been done regarding the financing of education is not sufficient, and different planning should be made. In this context, in the study, suggestions were made about what should be done by the relevant institutions and an awareness was tried to be created.

The aim of this study is to identify the motifs of phenomenality in Hamza-nāmes. The study is limited to volume 53. Hamza-nâmes, after the martyrdom of Hz. Hamza, were formed by the epicisation of the events describing his heroism among the Arabs. In the following years, the work moved from Arabic literature to Persian literature and moved away from the menâkıbnâme feature with the addition of extraordinary events. It was transferred to Turkish literature through Persian literature and became very popular among Turks. It is thought to have been transcribed during the transition period from the epic period, including the Old Anatolian Turkish period, to folk storytelling. This work, which comes from an oral tradition, is written in a simple and understandable language. While determining the extraordinary motifs in Hamza-nâmed, the criteria of the extraordinary item in Thompson's "Folk Literature Motif Index" were used. Thompson's "Motif Index of Folk Literature" is a comprehensive catalogue of motifs found in folk tales, myths and legends. This index provides a standard system for classifying various motifs and enables researchers to compare and analyse supernatural elements across different stories and cultural contexts. As a result of the study, a large number of supernatural elements were found in Hamza-nāme volume 53. The most striking one is the supernatural people. However, it has an important place for original works. These phenomena in the text are carried from cultural fields such as literature, theatre, museum, etc. to the nation and even to the world and constitute an important source of data.

It aims to study the correlations between intellectual capital components, Tobin Q and financial performance indicators of firms in the BIST-100 Wholesale and Retail sector. The research is designed as an effort to understand how intellectual capital conduces to the competitive advantages and value creation capacities of firms. For this purpose, Modified Value Added Intellectual Coefficient (MVAIC) was used to represent intellectual capital and return rates (ROA, RONA, ROE and ROI) to represent financial performance. The findings show that, apart from ROE, intellectual capital is a noteworthy source of value creation for companies in this sector and positively affects their financial performance. The scope of the study includes correlation and regression analyzes on the 10-year financial statements of the relevant sector between 2013 and 2022. This study highlights that businesses should consider intellectual capital management as a strategic priority.

In this study, it is aimed to examine pre-service science teachers' perceptions of environment and environmental problems by using the word association test. The research was carried out with 32 teacher candidates studying at Sakarya University Faculty of Education, Department of Science Education in the 2021-2022 academic year. The Word Association Test was used as a data collection tool, and the key concepts of "environment" and "environmental problems" were given to the students and the students were made to make associations about these concepts. Then, the students were asked to make a sentence about the concepts of environment and environmental problems. Content analysis method was used in the analysis of the data obtained, and in this context, categories and codes were created for the answers given to the Word Association Test. The results regarding the key concept of "environment" were evaluated under five main themes: "ecosystem elements", "ecosystem types", "ecological concepts", "environmental problems" and "feelings and thoughts". The theme of ecosystem elements; the theme of “living elements”, “non-living elements” and ecosystem varieties; “natural ecosystems” were examined under the sub-themes “artificial ecosystems”. It can be said that the pre-service teachers who participated in the research have knowledge structures about the environment in general. However, pre-service teachers' perceptions of the living environment show more diversity than their perceptions of the inanimate environment. It was observed that the number of answers regarding inanimate objects was low. Likewise, while making sentences about the environment, they mentioned inanimate objects very little. Other evocative words are ecological concepts that are quite numerous and varied. They also associated it with environmental problems. In addition to these, there are answers such as "we should be sensitive and conscious of the environment, we should protect it," in the perceptions of teacher candidates. It is important to have these in their perceptions, that is, to associate their feelings and thoughts with the environment. When the evaluation is made on the concepts that are associated rather than the number of answers given by the pre-service teachers, it has been revealed that they do not have a sufficient level of environmental perception. Student associations towards environmental problems; It has been expressed under the themes of "types of environmental problems", "reasons of environmental problems" and "results of environmental problems", and it has been determined that the connotations of pre-service teachers are gathered under the theme of "reasons of environmental problems". In their sentences, they talked more about the causes and consequences of environmental problems. It was determined that pre-service teachers made associations and formed sentences by addressing environmental problems more locally. As a result of the study, it was determined that the

In this article, the changing social profile of border smugglers is examined. Although informal flows (smuggling) create increasingly complex problems at origin, destination and intermediate points in the globalization process, the fact that smugglers, the main actors of this process, are not sufficiently recognized is the important reason for this review. This issue has not received the necessary attention in the field of science. This issue, which is problematized in the article, is described with a phenomenological study. For this purpose, information about the social profiles of old-style border smugglers was obtained from the border smuggling themed movies "The Law of the Borders" and "Mule Makers". Information about the social profiles of the new type of border smugglers was obtained by interviewing 30 people who were connected to the border smuggling phenomenon in Van province in 2022 and determined in accordance with the snowball sampling technique, using a semi-structured questionnaire tool. Data obtained from two sources were examined in accordance with the interactional discourse analysis technique. In this analysis, the social profile of old and new border smugglers is described within the framework of four features: Demographic features; Social roles, behaviour’s and attitudes; Social network and relationships; and Social status and power structures. The article is based on the social network theory perspective. According to the general finding reached as a result of the article review, in the province of Van, the border smuggler social profile has a traditional and modern form. Although the traditional essence of the border smuggler social profile is preserved, the socio-cultural network is fragmented.

Since the 19th century, in which the foundations of the modern world were laid, the concept of terror has increasingly occupied the world public opinion. Terror, an ancient concept in terms of meaning and content, which became a device used by separatist groups to achieve their goals after the French Revolution, has evolved into terrorism with its change in the century in question. In essence, terror is a concept that emphasizes violence and fear, while terrorism is a concept that includes more intricate and complex issues. When we look at the definitions of these two concepts, it is seen that they are actually intertwined and mutually inclusive. However, although the nature of terror and the arguments it uses have changed over time, its devastating consequences for humanity have reached higher levels with its form that has turned into terrorism. For this reason, although serious efforts have been made since the 1930s to establish a common definition of terrorism, no success has been achieved. In this context, the primary aim of this study is to examine the definitions of the concepts of terror and terrorism in the literature and to reveal their similarities and differences. In this way, it will be evaluated whether it is possible to make a common definition, and if not, what are the obstacles in front of it, through the existing literature.

Teaching and learning in the classroom are a complex process characterized by intense cognition of the causal nature of student and teacher behaviour. Students' perceptions of whether they are successful and their analysis of why they are successful or unsuccessful can have an impact on their future performance. The study aims to reveal eighth grade middle school students’ causal attribution of success and failure in mathematics. To collect data, a semi-structured interview was developed by the researcher. Interviews with students were recorded using a voice recorder. These audio recordings were deciphered and analysed. The participants of the study consisted of 15 students who were in the 8th grade of a middle school (13-14 aged). The results of the study revealed that effort is one of the most frequently cited causes for explaining success or failure in mathematics. While the reasons that refer to ability are not very popular, especially solving or not solving more questions is one of the obvious causes. This is thought to have a conclusion of teaching conception based on question-solving intensively in order to prepare the national high school entrance exam.

In this study, the relationship between real life and the problems in 6th-grade mathematics textbooks in Turkey and Iran has been examined comparatively. The research analyzed the problems in the textbooks according to the PISA context category. In this study, which was determined as document analysis, one of the qualitative research approaches, the collected data were analyzed by content analysis. As a result of the findings, it was determined that the questions related to daily life in the 6th-grade mathematics textbooks represented in both countries were quantitatively less than the total number of questions. According to the PISA context category of the problems in the Turkish and Iran textbooks, it is seen that the most personal problem and the least scientific and professional problem types are included. It is thought that the problems in the textbooks should be higher to embody mathematics, to enable students to better interpret where and how they should use mathematics in real life and be more successful in international exams. It is suggested that the problems in the textbooks should be associated with real-life situations and more space should be given to scientific and professional categories.

The word firefighting is derived from the Arabic word "Fire", which means extinguishing fire. Firefighting, on the other hand, is a risky profession that requires sacrifice and courage, with different job descriptions, especially fire extinguishing, and is a discipline that requires professional training. So much so that fire brigades are the most common emergency organizations organized in the world.
