In the summers of 2004, 2005 and 2006 the Spanish writer Juan Jose Millaspublished a series of articles that later appeared in three volumes titled Todo son preguntas, El ojo de la cerradura and Sombras sobre sombras. His essays are best understood as a meditation about press photos that inspire both questions and answers, expressing a poetics grounded in a spatial conception of the world that explicitly invokes the platonic image of the cave. The writer utilizes literary fiction as a tool to interpret reality —represented here in the series of photos— and, in so doing, problematizes the limits between truth and appearance. It is only by adding shadows to a world replete with simulacra, Millas seems to say, that we can make any sense of the world at all.

The article analyses Rosmini’s critique of Kant’s philosophy. The authoraludes to the criticism of Kant as a question of principles that criticizes Kant’ssubjectivism and the wrong formulation of the ideological problem (of the origin of ideas) related to the synthetic a priori judgments. Ending by holding that Kantconfuses predicates with attributes, concepts with things, and leads his philosophy to subjectivism.

The main objective of the paper is to demonstrate the presence of Easter Island´s history in Neruda´s writing, mainly in The separate Rose (1972). I propose that in order to read these poems it is necessary to connect them with historic events and characters, because through those connections new readings –until now absent from nerudian criticism– may be born.

This article raises the need of a historical approach to philosophical texts taking as an example the case of David Hume’s ethics proposal. It shows Hume`s interest in participating actively in the intellectual dialogue of his time and his intention to integrate the scientific method into the moral sciences and how his critique of reason must be understood in this light. To do this, we quickly mention the intellectual atmosphere of the time and the positions in conflict in the philosophical debate of the 18 th Century: relativistic skepticism, radical rationalism and naive sentimentality, noting that, deep down, Hume cannot be excluded completely from any of these positions but not typecast in any of them.
