Überlegungen zur Analyse von Ausdrucksmitteln der Emotionalität in Text und Film für Menschen mit Sehbehinderung am Beispiel der Komödie ‚Good Bye, Lenin!‛ 以喜剧《再见,列宁

This article explores the resources used for expressing emotionality in audio commentaries to films adapted for blind and visually impaired viewers. The subject of the study is the 2003 film Good Bye, Lenin! directed by Wolfgang Becker. Based on an analysis of three selected scenes from the film, which contain so-called audio descriptions, and from Bernd Lichtenberg’s screenplay, the analysis investigates how emotionality in the film is verbalised via audio descriptions, which means of expression are used, and whether (and to what extent) the language in the audio descriptions differs from the descriptions of the scenes in the screenplay.

Kriegsnarrative in reichsbürgerlichen Texten – Inszenierungen des Ausnahmezustandes 帝国公民文本中的战争叙事——紧急状态的阶段

This article deals with the topic of war in selected texts written by Reich citizens. It begins by outlining the current state of research, revealing a notable gap in our knowledge – particularly with regard to the linguistic specifics of Reich citizens’ texts. Texts from the organization “Bismarcks Erben” (“Bismarck’s Heirs”) are then examined in more detail. For this purpose, a statistical evaluation of the lexis is carried out. It can be shown that war lexis is an important component of these texts. Furthermore, the role of war narratives for the self-representation and recruitment of Reich citizens is examined.

The characteristic features of legal language are determined by its function, as well as by the relationship between legal language and its professional and lay users. The linguistic resources used in legal language should be unambiguous, precise, abstract, clear and comprehensible. At the lexical level are items of terminology, characterized by their systemic nature, conceptuality, precision, unambiguity and neutrality. Although legal language should be unambiguous and precise, in some cases legal terms are not used appropriately, necessitating clarification and explanation. The characteristic features of legal language, as well as issues of synonymy and homonymy in legal terminology, are crucial to the translation process, and they can also cause translation problems. This paper highlights the importance of appropriate choices of legal terms depending on the legal contexts in which they occur, as well as giving a practical account of translation problems.

The article outlines the options for a pedagogically motivated keyword analysis in order to discover differences between the academic writing of Czech and Austrian students of German philology (or related fields). First, the paper presents a brief overview of the presently available metrics employed in keyword analyses, outlining some modifications that can be applied to make the results more relevant and easily interpretable. In the practical part, I explore which lexical items are frequently used by the L1 writers but at the same time are underused in the L2 subcorpus. The product of the study is a word list, which can be utilised by academic writing instructors or students themselves to provide them with an idea of what needs to be taught/learnt.

This article discusses an essay by Karl Heinrich Seibt on differences in writing styles. The essay was published in Prague in 1768. It reflects important changes in writing practices that occurred in the Age of Enlightenment. Seibt’s essay is interesting because it recommends the usage of very progressive writing styles that come close to early Romantic approaches (the ‘Sturm und Drang’). On the other hand, Seibt also defends a very traditional (periodical) style in official or formal contexts. It is argued that this sharp contrast is a consequence of Seibt’s difficult role as a teacher of modern language style in the traditional Habsburg Empire.

This article deals with the derivatives Stimulation and Stimulierung from the perspective of synonymy. On the one hand, the lexicographic representation of their meaning in selected monolingual dictionaries is compared, and on the other hand, the derivatives are analysed and quantified from the point of view of their occurrence and co-occurrence in various language corpora, focusing on their use as competitive forms and their contextual features. This is done using metalexicographic and corpus linguistic methods. The question is examined to what extent both derivatives can substitute for each other in different contexts and whether the information given in the dictionaries examined corresponds to the actual usage.

The region of the Mediterranean and its cultures are central themes in the writings of Marie Luise Kaschnitz, and from the mid-1920 they shaped her poetry as well as her novels ‘Liebe beginnt’ (1933) and ‘Elissa’ (1937). In her post-war texts – short stories, radio plays, essays, notes, and poems – the Mediterranean world became crucially important; this reflected her husband’s historical-cultural work and led the couple to undertake several long journeys to Italy, (former) Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, and North Africa. Among the landscapes that stimulated Marie Luise Kaschnitz’s creative work, the legendary Monte Circeo on the Tyrrhenian coast repeatedly emerged as a prominent element. The article intends to show what this place meant for the author’s private life, also focusing on how she depicted it in three short stories written in 1960: ‘Lange Schatten’, ‘Am Circeo’, and ‘Eines Mittags, Mitte Juni’.

This paper proposes an interdisciplinary reinterpretation of the novel ‘Mahler’s Time’ by Daniel Kehlmann, arguing that this work explores the epistemological consequences of quantum mechanics. It is shown that the so-called Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics is disguised in the text as the fictional physical Valentinov paradox, which shapes the poetic statement as well as the structure of the novel. The interdisciplinary interpretation is also reinforced by Kehlmann’s poetological essays.

Lehrkompetenzentwicklung von DaF-Studierenden in einer binationalen universitären Ausbildungskooperation 中美大学教育合作中DaF学生教学能力的培养

In teacher training, practical phases offer students the opportunity to further develop their skills and professionalize their own teaching. In a bilateral cooperation project, student teachers from the Czech Republic and Austria jointly prepared a week of teaching according to the concept of problem-based learning and carried it out as a project week at a Czech grammar school. The individual considerations of the students regarding their development of teaching skills and personality in project work are evaluated. Results indicate the benefit of integrating practical bilateral teaching experiences into the curriculum.
在教师培训中,实践阶段为学生提供了进一步发展技能和专业化教学的机会。在一个双边合作项目中,来自捷克共和国和奥地利的实习教师根据基于问题的学习理念,共同准备了一周的教学,并以项目周的形式在捷克一所文法学校开展。评估学生在项目工作中对教学技能和个性发展的个人考虑。结果表明,将实际的双边教学经验融入课程是有益的。

‘Das Epos der Maschine’ is a multimedia work by Urs Schreiber that was published in 1998. In the work, the relationship between literature and technology is addressed in two ways. On the one hand, digital technology is tested as a new medium in the production of literature. On the other hand, the work is an epic about the reach of man who tries to uncover the mysteries of his existence with the help of technology. In this article, ‘Das Epos der Maschine’ is analyzed in terms of authorship, the nature of the text and the function of the recipient. The aim is to use this hypertext to examine which tendencies the above‑mentioned trio of aspects display when addressing new technology.
