A hybrid control method with the immune and proportional-derivative (PD) control was presented aiming at the temperature control characteristics of electric heating dryers. The hybrid control consists of the parallel construction of the two-cell immune control and conventional PD feedback control. The immune controller has strong robustness and adaptability, and one-order integral characteristics. Therefore, the immune controller can realize the adaptive and constant control of the system with no error, and the PD controller can realize stability and rapidity. Simulation for the temperature control of electric heating dryer was carried out under such a control that has parameter uncertainty. The results verify that this hybrid control is better rapidity, smaller overshoot, and better robustness than a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control. The temperature control obtains satisfactory control effectiveness

Generally, images can be corrupted by different characteristic noises simultaneously, we cannot obtain satisfactory filtering result if only using single filter such as average filter or median filter. Therefore, in this paper a new mixed filter algorithm is proposed for filtering the image corrupted by difference noises. Firstly, we construct adaptive structure using neighborhood contrast measure; secondly, divide the image into smoothness, edge and unconfirmed regions based on the adaptive structure; then, adopt corresponding filter for different regions. The algorithm does not need a priori knowledge of images and noises. We perform experiments on the image corrupted by Gaussian and impulse noises, by using average filter with maximization and minimization for the smoothness region, unidirectional median filter for the edge region and median filter for the indefinite region. The experiments show that the proposed algorithm is feasible and efficient

This paper presents the modeling, simulation, and speed control aspects of a 3-phase 6/4 switched reluctance motor (SRM) drives. Fourier series expression of phase self-inductance under the assumption of negligible mutual effect and various losses is introduced to describe the nonlinear dynamic model of SRM. By virtue of Matlab/Simulink, the models of various subsystems are achieved and the modeling procedure is described in detail. By the organic combination of subsystems, the whole simulation model of SRM drives is established. In addition, to improve the adjustable speed performance of SRM drives, the double closed loop control strategy based on a chopping controller in the current loop and a fuzzy+PI controller in the speed loop is proposed. Simulation results have shown the rationality of model and validity of control strategy. The model developed here can be widely used and is easy to modify, which offers a good platform for choosing the best control strategy

A scheme for sensor online fault diagnosis and reconfiguration was proposed. It was based on the radial basis function network (RBF) which was designed by efficient algorithm of on-line training and parameter optimization. Using multiple model adaptive technique, a set of adaptive neural network observers were designed to restrain modeling uncertainties and the output couple in flight control system. The performance of the scheme was validated by the nonlinear simulation for a fighter within automatic terrain following flight control system. As a conclusion, online accommodation is achieved

The paper introduced a kind of dynamic modeling method based on support vector machine and sliding time window techniques. Aiming at the composition-estimated problem of the azeotropic distillation column, an appropriate industry soft sensor model was built by support vector machine based on least square (LS-SVM). The sliding time window techniques were used to update modeling database. For improving estimate precision, the industry model was corrected on-line by the error between analyzed value and estimated value and was updated automatically by the dynamic modeling database. The industry model was successfully applied to the butadiene distillation equipment to estimate the water content of the azeotropic column. The results of research show that the LS-SVM soft sensor modeling method based on the sliding window is an effect method of the soft sensor modeling method

Image zooming is a prime and important problem in image processing. An image decomposition method called empirical mode decomposition (EMD) is first addressed in this paper, and then the problems such as searching local extrema points and boundary extension are discussed in detail. On this basis, a new image zooming method using 2 dimensional (2D) EMD technique is proposed. The main procedures are designed as the following: first, by 2D EMD method, an image is decomposed into several layers, where each of them contains different details or possesses different roughness; second, each layer is zoomed using a combination method with different parameters that are proportional to roughness of that layer, at last, the final zooming result is reconstructed from the combined interpolated layers. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method

In this paper, the problem of tracking multiple maneuvering targets in clutter is investigated. An improved interacting multiple model joint probabilistic data association (IMMJPDA) algorithm is proposed. When the targets are described by different models, different association matrices are formulated. However, the traditional IMMJPDA algorithm only generates one association matrix. This new algorithm can reduce the overshoot of RMSE in position. The validity of this algorithm is illustrated through Monte Carlo simulations

A novel multipurpose image dual watermarking algorithm is proposed. Utilize the sequences X and Y generated by 3D Liu chaotic system to control selecting embedding coefficient of visible watermark, and the visible watermark is embedded in the image spatial domain to achieve the goal of copyright notification. By utilizing the chaotic sequences Y and Z, some image blocks that were not embedded visible watermarks are selected randomly. By using coefficients quantization technique, the robust watermark that can be blindly extracted is embedded in the lifting wavelet transform (LWT) domain of those selected blocks to obtain the aim of copyright protection. Simulation results show that the visible watermark can be removed entirely by legal users but is hard to remove by illegal users, the impact of the invisible watermark on the image quality is slight, and the invisible watermark is robust to common image processing operations

A novel soft-sensor model based on principal component analysis (PCA), radial basis function (RBF) networks, and multi-scale analysis (MSA) is proposed to predict the properties of manufactured products from real process variables, where PCA is carried out to select the most relevant process features and to eliminate the correlations of the input variables, multi-scale analysis is introduced to acquire much more information and to reduce the uncertainty of the system, and RBF networks are employed to characterize the nonlinearity of the process. The prediction of the melt index (MI) or quality of polypropylene produced in a practical industrial process is carried out as a case study.
