Basic particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm are susceptible to being trapped into local optimum and premature convergence happens. Inspired by the idea of genetic algorithm (GA), a new two-swarm based PSO algorithm (TSPSO) with roulette wheel selection is proposed. With different parameter settings, the two swarms have different flying trajectory, explore solution space as possible as they can, and enhance the global exploration ability. Roulette-wheel-selection based stochastic selection scheme make particles searching in the neighborhood of better feasible solution intensively and enhances the local exploitation ability. The proposed algorithm is tested on three benchmark test functions. The results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to PSO and GA in the solution of complex optimization problems

Aiming at the uncertainty of sonar data in the problem of sonar-based target differentiation for mobile robot, the paper firstly presents a hierarchical reduction approach to reduce a sonar data set based on rough set theory. Then on the basis of the reduction, a multi-neural network based target differentiation algorithm is designed on the fact that the effective combination of multiple neural networks can increase the ability to pattern classification and generalization of the whole system. Parallel network architecture is adopted locally to increase the differentiation accuracy. And the average weighed strategy is applied to fuse the outputs of the parallel neural network classifiers to improve the robustness of the differentiation system to noise, physically plausible failure and missing sonar data situation. The simulation experiments prove that the new method combining with the traditional target differentiation algorithm can increase the accuracy of sonar-based target differentiation for mobile robot in indoor environments

To reduce traditional direct torque control (DTC) system low speed control precision and the large torque ripple in low speed, a fuzzy control system of DTC was proposed. On the basis of conventional PI regulator, a fuzzy speed PI regulator was designed according to speed error and its rate of change, which could adjust the proportional coefficient kp and integral coefficient kp dynamically to adapt the system to the speed variations, and advanced the self-adaptation of speed. In voltage vector fuzzy controller model, the stator flux angle, the stator flux error, and the torque error are reasonably fuzzified into several fuzzy subsets to optimize selection of the voltage vector and decrease the torque ripple. The experimental results show that the proposed fuzzy control system not only can ensure swift speed response, small overshooting, and high steady speed precision, but also can effectively decrease torque ripple in low speed. Additionally, the system improves the observation precision of the stator flux and enhances the robustness of the whole system

Scheduling small satellite's mission must meet with two acquirements: one is that all real-time tasks must be complemented in time limit, the other is that it must have fault-tolerant capability. In this paper, an integration mission model of both periodical mission and non-periodical mission is built based on the characteristic of small satellite mission and a fault-tolerant scheduling algorithm of static scheduling and dynamic adjustment for small satellite is presented combined with mission allocate algorithm and partial dynamic scheduling algorithm of embedded processor. This algorithm combines both the technique of primary/backup copies and the Hopfield algorithm and sum up static assignment to planning and operation problem held in resource and time. Neural network algorithm is used in partial dynamic adjustment of non-periodical mission and backup mission copies that assures the reliability and temporal effectiveness of mission execution. Simulation results show that it achieves higher schedulability compared to some other methods. Further, in terms of scheduling length and load balancing, it is superior to that of conventional graphic algorithm

Cryogenic air separation distillation columns are widely used in industry, which consume a large energy and need to produce a huge amount of need of nitrogen, oxygen and argon products with high purity. Of pervious optimal researches on cryogenic distillation column, few considers argon column due to the complex degree of process. In this work, rigorous optimization model of cryogenic distillation system with argon column is presented and detail simulation is carried out. The simulation result shows that through optimization, oxygen extraction percentage increases considerably and argon extraction percentage is also greatly improved. It indicates that optimization of this work is promising and feasible in improving productivity and profit of cryogenic distillation system

In this paper, we explain the fusion technology of information briefly, and discuss the general course and the merged rule about the equipment fault diagnoses by the D-S evidence theory in detail. We give the relation between basic probability assignment and matrix by the location operation of C-language, and obtain the basic probability assignment by the Matlab software which make the matrix operation easier. We diagnose the fault of the voltage transformer using the D-S evidence theory

Stability of Hopfield type neural network systems is an important research problem, many articles have rather thoroughly researched it, and some new criterions have been established based on M matrix and positive definite matrix or negative definite matrix. In this paper, subpositive definite matrices (subnegative definite matrix) are led into Hopfield type neural network systems, and under relatively weak condition, another new criterions are acquired

Both the delay and loss information are used to build the hidden Markov model (HMM) for the networked control system. The validity of the model is evaluated. Based on the model, delay and packet-loss are estimated. A close-loop control experiment over campus network is designed to verify the method. The results show the validity of the hidden Markov model

In order to improve the reliability of fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) for material test machine, it is important to make full use of the information from being test material knowledge and material measurements. This paper presents an application of information fusion in FDD. In the proposed method, the fusion adopts multiple FDD strategies aiming at angle signals and torque signals etc. of the system, then the results of these strategies are fused. Through regression analysis on the fused data, the information fusion techniques are showed to be practical and effective

A new approach for network congestion control is discussed in this paper. By using artificial intelligence methods in network congestion control, a novel knowledge driven approach is introduced to tackle the congestion control problem. Different from conventional approaches, the knowledge driven approach focuses on knowledge manipulation and organisation to generate congestion control algorithms. An expert-system-based congestion control framework used to organise knowledge is proposed, and its application in solving TCP inter-flavour-friendliness problem is discussed. It is to shown that the knowledge driven approach has potentials in: 1) improving the performance of existing congestion control algorithm; 2) tackling congestion control problem in varying and uncertain environments by constructing complex congestion controller in an easy and reliable way
