Purpose: This study aims to examine and assess the requirements of Chinese children in relation to digital reading. It also seeks to explore the challenges that arise in the production of digital reading materials for children while proposing principles for their future development.
Design/Methodology/Approach: A sample of 600 participants was selected from mainland China for the purpose of this study. A total of 483 valid surveys were gathered and utilized to examine the elements that influence the effectiveness of digital reading in children.
Findings: The results of this study demonstrate a positive association between the level of digitalization in children's books and children's digital reading proficiency. These findings show that a greater degree of digitization is linked to a more advantageous impact on digital reading skills.
Conclusion: To enhance the efficacy of digital reading among children, it is imperative to strengthen the level of digitization in the design of children's books while concurrently fostering children's willingness towards digital books. In digitizing children's books, it is essential to enhance the usability of goods, simplify operation processes, and reduce the design of interfaces to foster a sense of enjoyment and satisfaction among young readers.
Research Limitations: The target user group for this study is children between the ages of 3-6. Due to the young age of the study subjects, they cannot fill out the questionnaire independently, and the questionnaire is filled out with the assistance of their parents, which cannot fully reflect the subjective intention and actual situation of the study subjects.

Purpose: The current study focuses on how emotional expressivity influences the link between prosocial activities and self-esteem in undergraduate students. Design/Methodology/Approach: The study's sample consisted of 528 college students, with ages ranging from 17 to 24 years. Of the participants, 52.8% identified as female and 47.2% identified as male. The participants in the study were provided with Rosenberg's self-esteem scale, a measure of prosocial propensity, and an emotional expressivity scale. Statistical Package for Social Science was used to generate the results. Findings: The findings reveal the relationship between self-esteem and prosocial behavior, as well as the contribution of emotional expressivity as a modifier in that correlation. It was further explored that people who scored high on self-esteem and emotional expressivity were more likely to engage in prosocial behaviors. Conclusion: Gaining insight into the underlying factors that contribute to the correlation between self-esteem and prosocial behaviour is crucial to the advancement of strategies aimed at fostering and demonstrating prosocial behaviour. Research Limitation: One possible limitation of the study is its reliance on self-reported measures, which may be subject to bias regarding social desirability and may not completely capture individuals' actual behaviours. To supplement self-reported data, future studies could use observational or experimental approaches. Practical Implication: The study's conclusions have consequences for educators, counselors, and policymakers. Understanding the function of emotional expressivity in encouraging prosocial behavior can help guide initiatives aimed at creating a pleasant and supportive atmosphere in educational institutions and communities. Contribution to Literature: This study improves the existing body of facts by looking into the relationship between self-esteem, emotional expressivity, and prosocial behaviors. It enhances our understanding of the aspects that drive prosocial behavior and emphasizes the status of moderation for emotional expressivity in the context of this connection.

Purpose: This study analyzes the changes in feelings, attitudes, and behaviors of the audience after watching the Public Service Advertisements (PSA) and better evaluates which emotions are more acceptable to the audience of the PSA.
Design/Methodology/Approach: In this study, 217 audiences from Eastern and Western nations were chosen to witness the effects of several emotionally intense Public Services Advertisements and gather data to assess the shifts in opinion and behavioural influences.
Findings: Based on the results of the study, it can be shown that many social groups exhibit favorable responses to Public Services Advertisements (PSA) in terms of emotional effect perception, namely in relation to fear, comedy, and compassion. These findings indicate a generally good trend across all levels of analysis. Differences in audience attitudes and behavioural changes brought on by various levels of perception of advertising impact emerge under the influence of background circumstances.
Conclusion: The emotional orientation have a favorable impact on the attitude and conduct of the audience, serving as a source of motivation, induction, and guidance.
Research Limitations/Implications: This paper analyzes audience cognitive and behavioral research from only the emotion-oriented effect, and the actual emotion is inextricably linked with emotions and psychology. Some of the parts that have not yet been covered will be further studied in the future when conditions permit.
Practical Implications: It can help trigger the audience's emotional cognition, form long-term attention to public welfare information, and improve the possibility of changing the behavior of the public.
Contribution to Literature: This study provides a research framework for the impact of the PSA effect on audience behavior and paves the way for later emotional effect research and design strategies.

Purpose: This study discusses the main factors that affect the physical education environment of universities and college students' physical activity levels. Design/Methodology/Approach: This study used the questionnaire method and the experimental method to conduct exploratory research on 286 college students (boys = 141, girls = 145) in eight teaching classes from new comers to senior students at Chongqing Normal University (one experimental class and one control class in each grade). Findings: The main factors of the school’s physical education environment were the interpersonal social environment, the natural physical environment and the physical education system environment. There was no significant statistical difference before the experiment. The experimental group showed statistical differences after the experiment. A substantial effect size was found in the intervention's effectiveness tests (2 * 2 ANOVA) and (2 * 3 ANOVA). Conclusion: The school physical education environment can efficiently promote the improvement of the physical activity level of college students and the improvement effect has specific time persistence. The interpersonal social environment, the natural physical environment and the physical education system environment can be carried out when participating in the school’s physical education environment. Research Limitations: The limitation is that the experiment period needs to be longer. Practical Implications: Intervention practice can effectively improve college students' physical activity through the school sports environment. Contribution to Literature: This paper explores a new way to promote college students' physical exercise.

Purpose: This research examines how the heterogeneity of enterprise ownership nature and scale influences the relationship between human capital and innovation performance.
Design/Methodology/Approach: This study makes use of data from the list of companies on China's expanding enterprise market from 2009-2020 through regression analysis using the panel data least squares approach.
Findings: Higher levels of human capital and staff training have a positive impact on innovation performance but employee salaries and welfare levels have a negative impact on innovation performance. The effect of human capital stock and employee training on the performance of innovation in companies is more pronounced in state-owned enterprises or small companies. The nature of ownership or enterprise size has no significant effect on employee wage and welfare levels or the innovation performance of enterprises.
Conclusion: The study's findings suggest that the relationship between human capital and innovation performance is complex and closely correlated with the type of ownership and size of the business.
Research Limitations: More factors of firm heterogeneity such as firm age, industry and region were not verified.
Practical Implications: It provides a new way for enterprises to improve innovation performance.
Contribution to Literature: The purpose of this paper is to broaden the research viewpoint on how human capital investments affect the performance of enterprise innovation from two perspectives: the nature of enterprise ownership and the size of the enterprise.

Purpose: Despite LGB recognition, recent literature and news reports have evidenced the existence of LGB-based school bullying among school-going adolescents. Through this, learners experience calamities such as anxiety, insecurity, poor academic performance, and even suicide. For this reason, this study investigates the limitations of schools in combating LGB-based school bullying and determines methods to combat LGB-based school bullying.
Design/Methodology/Approach: This qualitative study was lensed through Social Stigma Theory (SST) and the Anti-bias Education Approach (ABEA), adopting a constructivist paradigm and a case study design. To elicit descriptive data from the participants, in-depth interviews were conducted with 9 purposefully sampled participants, including 4 senior phase teachers (grades 8 & 9), 2 lesbian females, and 3 gay senior phase learners. Researchers utilized Braun and Clarke’s six steps of thematic analysis to make sense of the data.
Findings: This study revealed a number of barriers that prevent schools from addressing bullying that is based on LGB among students in the senior phase. These include uneducated and unsupportive professors, the lack of recognition of LGB, adherence to religion, vague and nonexistent claims of bullying based on LGB, and the use of the same facilities as students who are heterosexual. This study also revealed that avoiding gender disclosure, creating awareness about gender diversity, providing bathrooms for LGB learners, and following up on LGB- based bullying cases are methods that can be practiced to combat LGB-based school bullying.
Conclusion: This study concludes by recommending frequent dialogues about LGB among learners and teachers to familiarize themselves with its existence.
Research Implications: The study identified the need for schools to combat LGB-based school bullying.
Practical Implications: The study recommends open dialogues on gender diversity, discourages LGB-based bullying, empowers teachers to intervene, and promotes confidence in LGB-based learners.
Contribution to Literature: This research contributes to the body of knowledge by identifying and addressing the unique challenges associated with LGB-based school bullying.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the causal relationship between saline intrusion and poverty in rural households in the Mekong Delta based on the 2018 Vietnam Household Living Standard Survey data.
Design/Methodology/Approach: A sample of 344 rural households in the Mekong Delta is used to analyze the causal relationship between saline intrusion and poverty through income. This study employed the Ordinary Least Squares method and the oprobit model to investigate the causal relationship between saline intrusion and rural household income. Finally, this study estimates the impact of saline intrusion on poverty using different propensity score matching methods.
Findings: 1) Saltwater intrusion has a significant negative impact on the income of rural households, making households more likely to fall into the lower income group; 2) Saltwater intrusion has a greater negative impact on the incomes of poorer households than non-poor households, while also having a negative impact on households with low education and farming; and 3) By reducing household income as well as income from farming activities, infiltration increases the risk of poverty for rural households and reduces the household's ability to escape poverty.
Conclusion: This study demonstrates how saltwater intrusion affects household poverty by reducing income and raising the likelihood that households will fall below the Vietnamese government's designated poverty income threshold.

 Conclusion: This study demonstrates how saltwater intrusion affects household poverty by reducing income and raising the likelihood that households will fall below the Vietnamese government's designated poverty income threshold.","PeriodicalId":38402,"journal":{"name":"Nurture","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136283901","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Purpose: The contributions of teacher intercultural competence to educational outcomes, including student self-efficacy, engagement, and academic satisfaction, were investigated in this study. Design/Methodology/Approach: The study applies the quantitative method using primary data from the survey collected from 400 international undergraduate students in China and Thailand. The partial least squares structural equation modeling is used to analyze the relationships of variables between conceptual constructions. Findings: The results indicate that teacher intercultural competence has positive and significant effects on international student self-efficacy and engagement but has no significant effect on international student academic satisfaction. Conclusion: This study provides new insight into international student self-efficacy, engagement, and academic satisfaction from the perspective of teacher intercultural competence. Research Limitations/Implications: In this study, undergraduate international students were selected only from China and Thailand, which is considered a research limitation. Thus, increasing the generalizability of the whole population by collecting data from more universities is suggested for future research. Practical Implications: Educational policymakers or university administrators should improve international student educational outcomes from the perspective of teacher education and professional development. Teacher intercultural competence should be considered a significant part of teacher education and professional development. If the teachers understand the cultural or behavioral differences from the perspective of students, they can construct a more inclusive and effective academic environment. Contribution to Literature: This study proposed and confirmed the mediating role of international student self-efficacy, which brings clarification to the formational mechanism of how teacher intercultural competence affects international student engagement and academic satisfaction.
