This work analyzes the construction of the figure of the miliciana (the militia woman) during the Spanish Civil War in the poem «Rosario, dinamitera» (1937) written by Miguel Hernandez and in the novel Contra viento y marea (1941) written by Maria Teresa Leon. Both literary texts gather different stereotypes related to the complex figure of the militia woman. In different ways, the poem and the novel show the contradictions generated by the binomial woman/fight within the Republican front. Hernandez’ poem presents a mythical view of the miliciana, whereas Leon’s novel shows suspicion on the legitimacy of feminine militancy.

The Hundred Wells of Salaga. Empezaremos hablando del feminismo de Filomina Steady para continuar con el activismo de Buchi Emecheta, el Stiwanism de Molara Ogundipe, el Nego-Feminismo de Obioma Nnameka, para llegar al ecofeminismo EnglishIt is our contention to analyse the women characters in the novels written by the Ghanaian Ayesha Harrunah Attah, Harmattan Rain, Saturday’s Shadows and The Hundred Wells of Salaga framing our study within African feminism theories as we look for the connections between the history of Ghana and the experiences lived by the main characters. We will develop the different manifestations of feminism in Africa, starting from a common concern to African feminisms, to seek female agency and autonomy. African Feminisms emerge as activist movements and share the necessity of a positive change in society where women are full citizens. We will trace African Feminism from Filomina Steady, Buchi Emecheta´s activism, Mola

During the last decades the presence of women in the area of Computer Science has decreased in most countries. In the last years, at the Facultad de Ingeniería (School of Engineering), Universidad de la República, Uruguay, we have carried out several activities with the goal of bringing girls closer to Computer Science area, on the occasion of Girls in ICT Day. Through these activities, we intend to eliminate certain preconceived ideas and negative stereotypes that promote girls’ distancing from careers of this area. This paper presents the experience of the three virtual workshops carried out during 2021 (in virtual modality, due to the COVID-19 pandemic), which focused on programming, data, and geographic information systems, and the analysis of a set of virtual platforms considered for each workshop.

When one moves from the narrative of small-town everyday life to the account of academic language in the social sciences, “something” dissipates. For this reason, the narrative complemented by the body language and immediate environment of the interviewee, but not everything can be “appreciated” from the same perspective. Knowing the informal education transmitted from generation to generation about their identity, traditional values and their cultural heritage, the inhabitants who have lived in the so-called “Pueblos Mágicos” is the main purpose of this work. This investigation was qualitative approach, 60 people who are dedicated to handicrafts and the sale of food interviewed mainly, in three Pueblos Mágicos of the State of Mexico: Malinalco, Metepec and Valle de Bravo, based on an ethnographic work of daily life. Then, the most forceful of the findings was that artisan mothers and cooks are responsible for promoting values and traditions.

"Glorvina Fort, the daughter of the American consul in Tangier, John Mullowny (d. 1830), spent seven years in this city around 1824-31. She published a book on her experiences there in 1859. Although this is the only travel account on Morocco written by a woman in the first decades of the 19th century, both the author and the book are scarcely known. In this paper the scant information preserved on Glorvina Fort is presented, as well as an analysis on her travel account. The narrative of Fort experiences in Tangier is strongly conditioned by her position as a foreign woman, and by her nearly ethnographic descriptions of domestic spaces in the city"
