As an ever growing distribution channel for services, the Internet is becoming a potential competitive advantage for providers of services. While success can give access to a large number of online shoppers, the amount of service failures are extensive. Finding the key to provide service excellence on the Internet can make the difference between success and failure to the provider. This article maps the determinants of attitude towards online providers. It distinguishes three kinds of service provider characteristics: "usefulness", "ease of use" and "enjoyment", and how they affect consumer's attitude towards the provider. One of the contributions to the technology acceptance model by Davis et al (1989), is the introduction of consumers' cognitive processing as a moderating variable, and the use of "consumer characteristics" and "online shopping experience" as determinants for "cognitive processing".

Mobile entertainment is a newly emerging and rapid developing segment. Waning ARPU pushes Malaysian telcos to search for other sources of income. Value-added mobile data services were expected to foster industry growth. The youth are the most fertile groups for absorbing and incorporating the changes in mobile communications development. This research intends to look at the drivers and barriers for the adoption of mobile entertainment services in Malaysia. The factors observed in this study include perceived benefit; concerns pertaining to pricing, product and technological standardization, privacy and security; as well as influences from peers and community. An analysis of a Malaysian survey of 384 respondents between 18 to 25 years reveals that there is a statistically significant difference between both genders in issue pertaining to product and technological standardization. There are also statistically significant differences in perceived benefit and pricing issue between prepaid and post-paid subscribers. Moreover, the results show that subscribers placed greater importance on perceived benefit of mobile entertainment services compared to other factors. Results of the survey also uncover that there are strong positive correlations between all the factors, with pricing issue-perceived benefit showing the strongest relationship. This paper aims to provide an extensive study on the drivers and barriers that could be used to derive architecture for entertainment service provision to serve as a guide for telcos to outline suitable approaches in order to encourage mass market adoption of mobile entertainment services in Malaysia.

Every business or government agency needs to track information regarding their finances, their employees, and the items or assets they own and manage. Software applications that track this type of information are called enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Managing these assets in an integrated application allows an organization to have a consistent view across the entire enterprise. This enterprise-wide view allows ERP systems to go beyond the traditional transaction-based accounting systems maintained at the organization level and deliver fully integrated financial and human capital management based on industry-derived best practices across organizations. In response to the pressures of global competition, enterprises today are forging ahead with the mission of integrating information systems across corporate boundaries to unite customers, suppliers and any other business partners with which they interact. And in the mean time, with the development of the society, more and more people have to go many places because the job makes them and working at home also becomes more and more popular. Those people who are not at the place of their company also want to continue their work in other places even at home. The old style ERP system is in C/S model and cannot satisfy with the needs. So it is very necessary to upgrade the ERP system. This paper will go to figure out the application of the Web service in the upgrading of ERP system. In this paper, we focus on that how to upgrade or renew a C/S ERP system to an ERP system with B/S model and the application of Web service. We use the J2EE architecture and XML technology to provide Web service and upgrade/renew the former ERP system. UML tools play a very important role in the upgrading procedure. We use UML to analysis and design the B/S ERP system, which based on the C/S version. We use JSP to act as the view of the system because of its flexibility. In the Web service, the XML is necessary. So the XML technology is also used. In the end of the paper, we will figure out how these technologies to be used through a concrete example.

Moments can uniquely describe an image. Moment invariants with stability to geometric transformation can be used as features to recognize images despite geometric transformations. However, moment invariants lose stability when gray-levels are adjusted. Usually image processing may cause adjusting of gray-level, which limits application of moment invariants. This paper analyses the relation between invariant moments and gray-level adjustment, and concludes that gray-level histogram equalization can enhance the stability of invariant moments effectively. The conclusion is well proved by experiments.

This paper established an evaluation model based on cost-benefit analysis. It incorporates two transport modes, viz. the private car and public transportation. A concept of critical service price is presented to evaluating the relationship between transport service supply and demand. For the inhabitants in the urban fringe, the critical service price is the maximum price they can afford. And from viewpoints of the transport service suppliers, the concept is the minimum price at a certain traffic volume. By analyzing a real case, the inconsistency during the urban fringe development is proved. Finally, briefly discussed is how the relative stakeholders, including the inhabitants in urban fringe, the transport services suppliers, the land developers and local authority, might act to solve this problem.

Military supply chain management is a brand-new subject. In a series of theoretical questions needing to be answered, it is one of the key problems how to realize the synchronization and coordination of the nodes in military supply chain. To integrate military supply chain is a feasible way to solve this problem. This paper thinks that military supply chain integration can be considered from three respects, the vertical integration, the horizontal integration and the information integration. The goal, content and research approaches of these three kinds of integration are discussed in this paper separately.

The literature of product development chain is reviewed and the problem of design object decomposition in product develop chain is put forward. Based on that, the algorithm of design object decomposition (DODA) is presented and discussed in detail. Finally, a simple illustration of DODA system is described. This research provides the basis for further work in the important area of product development chain.

This paper proposes to establish a simple Web-based service performance tool that simulates selected normal and abnormal operations of an SIP powered network. Based on this tool, a variety of multimedia service traffic is supported. The tool is used to analyze the service performance of respective network elements in a simulated SIP environment, where traffic of different service types and management procedures is generated under different network configurations and scenario setups. The analytical study supports one service types initially: VoIP (voice over Internet protocol), and is extended to study other service types such as voice-band data call and fax. The user can input the desired service types, traffic volumes and distributions, and configure the service proceeding scenario interactively through the friendly input format from any client. The service performance study under this simulated network is especially useful to the service providers who are currently offering Internet-based services or have been planning new services aggressively. Service impacts due to resource bottleneck are noticed by active operators so improvement or enhancement can be implemented in time before problems start developing. The operation of service network can be simulated under a controlled circumstance so new services can be introduced with the required support capacity specified to reflect the quality level the service network can offer.
