The telecommunication management network (TMN) supports management activities associated with telecommunication networks. Object-oriented technology is a key concept in TMN. This paper discusses the relationship between TMN and object-oriented technology. Object-oriented technology can help us reduce the complexity of network management. The management information base (MIB) can provide a standardized interface and enhance the operability and reuse of the network management software. It is an innovation of traditional network management development.

The design and implementation of service management point in intelligent network service management system 智能网络业务管理系统中业务管理点的设计与实现

The intelligent network (IN) management is one of the key technologies in the IN research. We introduce a method for the design and implementation of the service management point (SMP) in the IN service management system (SMS) based on an object oriented paradigm. After describing the SMP's management requirements, we further discuss the SMP's design principles, functional structure, definition of managed objects and the implementation schema. The characteristics of the method are examined.

IN service design based on MSC 基于MSC的IN服务设计

This paper proposes a method of intelligent network (IN) service design based on message sequence charts (MSC). First, in order to describe all kinds of conditions of messages of one entity, it presents a formal representation which extends the standard MSC. Corresponding to the representation, a message tree structure is also described. According to the operating flow and the requirements analysis of an IN service, we design the MSC-S (MSC for external behavior of an IN service). Then, we separate the telecommunication network into several functional entities (FEs) and produce the MSC for the IFs between the SCF and other FEs. The IN service logic is designed on the basis of the MSC.

The analysis of the application of ARQ mechanism in ATM network ARQ机制在ATM网络中的应用分析

In this paper, performances when go-back-N (GBN) and selective repeat (SR) ARQ are applied in high speed ATM networks are studied. They can be used in regenerators or completely from transmitter to end receiver. Details of cell format, format of acknowledgment cell, CRC code and analytical results of throughputs, traffic increments as well as buffer requirements of the two proposed ARQs are given in the paper. A method of estimating the error detecting capability is developed. Finally, The operations of transmitter and receiver are designed and simulated. Analytical and simulation results reveal that high throughput can be achieved and buffer size is acceptable.

This paper proposes the concept of the personal service and its characteristics, on the basis of analyzing the limitation of the existing intelligent network (IN) structure to the personal service. The paper describes a possible way to realize the personal service and gives the function of service creation environment (SCE) which is the premise of the personal service.

CDMA communication system with trellis coding and orthogonal signaling 采用栅格编码和正交信号的CDMA通信系统

We discuss the application of trellis coding in a (direct sequence spread spectrum) CDMA system where orthogonal signaling is used. Our approach is to construct the trellis codes over the set of biorthogonal sequences. A general analysis is presented. We compared the analysis with computer simulation. The results show that the trellis coded CDMA system outperforms the corresponding uncoded DS/SSMA system.

The Personal Access Communications System (PACS) has been selected as one of the most promising low-tier PCS systems by the Directorate General of Telecommunications (DGT) of Taiwan. This paper reports the status of the PACS development in Taiwan. The PACS trial plan and major R&D efforts as well as the environment of wireless services are described.

Some formulas which are used for calculating the BERs (bit error rates) of coherent and noncoherent receivers for M-ary orthogonal signals in frequency-nonselected Rician slow fading channels are derived. There are also many numerical results given. Finally, the performance of a coherent receiver has been compared with a noncoherent receiver.

Performance analysis of M-ary spread spectrum data transmission system based on phase modulating a PN sequence 基于相位调制PN序列的扩频数据传输系统性能分析

A new method of M-ary spread spectrum data transmission is put forward. It can achieve code synchronization of the M PN codes easier than spread spectrum data transmission system using orthogonal codes. We also analyze the error performance of the system in the presence of multiuser interference.

The paper gives a parameter estimation and blind equalization algorithm for a nonminimum phase channel. The channel model is assumed to be moving average (MA) based. To identify the channel parameters, the fourth order cumulant fitting approach is adopted. In addition, the initial values of the iteration are determined by a special method to obtain the global solution.
