It has been intended to present international typological, formal and chronological relations of these types of structures in the context of the selected technical and technological solutions that would influence the emergence of architectural structures. Railway infrastructure used to develop both with reference to specific actions undertaken within the framework of activities of state administration as well as constituted the expression of universal needs and technological requirements. The essence of this analysis is to recognise which of these typologies can be referred to as functioning within the national resource and which within the international one.

Since the end of the nineteenth century (i.e., for over 150 years), many studies that presented and analysed the structural systems and forms of wooden Orthodox churches. Various researchers classified and named elements and forms of these church buildings differently – especially so in the case of the individual parts of the churches. The author has investigated the structures and forms of wooden Orthodox Eastern Catholic churches since 1989. The research problem presented in this paper is architecture – the structure and form of Greek Catholic wooden churches that have survived their turbulent histories in Poland and Ukraine.

The author deals with the model interpretation of the city's spatial structure. This approach emphasizes the role of the urban structure based on nodes and development corridors. Continuing the research on the spatial structure of Krakow, the author considers the criteria appropriate for the delimitation of areas with the highest crystallization potential of the urban tissue. Against this background, presents the results of a case study of one of the main development axes of Krakow.

Intellectual property protection via copyright in architecture has been a matter of much controversy. This stemmed from the complex nature of the architectural creative process and its often long duration. Here, there were accusations of the means and scope of copyright protection of architectural designs being insufficiently precise, especially with respect to the inalienability of the author–work link and the lack of economic balance between the designer and the client. The subject of the unintentional infringement on another’s intellectual property in architecture in the context of plagiarism itself.

The purpose of this article is an attempt to answer the question posed about the special value of railway water towers both as individual objects and as multi-tower complexes. In the course of research based on quantitative and qualitative methods, the research problem was considered in three variants, which are the impacts of towers on the environment, their mutual relations and relations resulting from the saturation of the city with towers. Modeling, statistics and case studies were used in the research, and the results made it possible to formulate answers to the studied problem or at least formulate preliminary hypotheses as a contribution to future research.

Penderecki's Arboretum in Lusławice is an example of the creative and unique work of an outstanding composer, visionary and lover of trees. Based on the historic park was created, a new, outstanding work, a collection combining a huge number of taxa into elements of garden composition, based on significant achievements of garden art of classical culture. The high natural and cultural values seamlessly blend with the historical park and the surroundings of the Lusławice Manor. The property is a rare example today of creative development of the historic layout with new elements, without simultaneous destruction of the existing values, but rather their protection and flourishing, creating new values on a regional, national and, because of the creator himself, global scale.

The subject of the research focused on contemporary architectural forms applied in the conservation of monuments. Based on Theory of Changes and Layered Construction of an Architectural Object by Stewart Brand, diversified enterprises were examined proving that they follow the concept of differentiating life spans of the individual buildings’ layers. The research methods include analysis of the 20th c. conservation development, analysis of Brand's concept in the light of conservation assumptions, case studies and summary.
研究的主题集中在当代建筑形式在古迹保护中的应用。基于Stewart Brand的change and Layered Construction of an Architectural Object的理论,我们考察了多元化的企业,证明他们遵循了区分单个建筑层寿命的概念。研究方法包括对20世纪保护发展的分析、基于保护假设的布兰德概念分析、案例研究和总结。

This paper explores the possibilities of the use of architectural design in benefiting the human condition in polluted cities and shows the role of art in shifting people's ideas about its influence on an urban wellbeing. The authors depict the possible usage of titanium dioxide (TiO2) technology as a component of building materials and its impact on clearing the atmosphere from nitrogen oxides. This research is focused on shaping the architectural form to promote light-active building materials for ecological thinking. The results of the academic research programme undertaken at WPUT (West Pomeranian University of Technology) in Szczecin, in cooperation with the Necmettin Erbakan University in Konya, are presented here.

The aim of the article is to identify an upper scale + subscale evaluation method based on the decisions and approaches of awarded architectural design competition projects carried out in the historical environment. In the first stage, within the scope of the upper scale evaluation method, the decisions about the environment of the awarded projects were examined in the headings of roads, city walls/fortifications and Atapark. In the second stage, the approaches of the awarded projects belonging to the building proposals were examined with a subscale, within the scope of design, preservation and re-functioning approaches.

The article concerns the problem of climate change and the need to adapt to the design process the architecture of the bubble mechanism currently operating in the sectors of enterprises and production plants, which consists in determining the maximum level of pollutant emissions. The problem is considered in the category of analysis and selection of building materials. The aim of the analyzes was determined due to the changing climate and the possibility of controlling pollutant emissions by operating in a limited area, in a kind of "bubble", with the imposition of limits the architecture. This leads to the changes in the paradigm of architectural design and the application of appropriate solutions, e.g. materials as well as technical-technological ones, controlling and minimizing the negative impact on the natural environment.
