Monuments of wooden architecture in Poland are appreciated by art historians, and the most valuable of them have been placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. These include sites that Bronisław Buliński of Jaroslaw, who operated a specialist conservation company for many years, was involved in rescuing and preserving. His talent, knowledge and commitment enabled the restoration of many wooden churches and orthodox churches in south-eastern Poland.

Green roofs are a multifunctional element of the building envelope, which, with appropriate modifications, can offer many benefits not only for its direct users, but also positively affect the environment around it. Global climate change and rapid urbanization have presented us with a number of urban challenges that negatively affect the physical and mental health of city dwellers. The subject of the article is to present the perspectives and main development trends in the use of green roofs in architecture. On the basis of the bibliometrics and scientometric analysis of the selected subject, the main research trends were presented, the countries contributing most to its development were distinguished, and the most influential authors were presented.

The work presents the results of research that focus on creating high-quality public space through the involvement of society and taking into account the opinions of various stakeholder groups. The main goal is to understand how the concepts of "man-space-management" can be integrated in the process of creating high-quality public places in accordance with the principles of UN-Habitat. An important research aspect is the development of FCM (Fuzzy Cognitive Maps) models and various scenarios for the development of public space, which will enable the effective use of financial resources by the government, non-governmental organizations and private investors. The research is based on the opinions of the Zielona Góra community, which were collected through "placegame" workshops and questionnaires.

The cases of the fires of Notre-Dame in Paris and St Peter and St Paul in Nantes present the effects of the gradual neglect of monument conservation and their impact on a decrease in safety. The causes and consequences of the fires were described. Differences in the methods of technical protection and reconstruction after a fire have been specified. It was reported that in the Cathedral in Nantes, the wooden truss was replaced with a concrete one, whereas in Notre-Dame the original truss will be recreated. The need to select fire protection and reconstruction methods on a case-bycase basis and use comprehensive fire-resistance systems was indicated.

The article analyses the peculiarities of the application of elements of Moorish architecture on the example of two buildings built in the town Kropyvnytsky (Yelysavetgrad) at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. During the twentieth century, the architecture of the historysm (eclecticism) received little attention because it was considered to be imitative, it was not distinguished by clearly defined compositional and stylistic methods. Since the end of the 20th century, with the development of the postmodern paradigm, the principles of the formation and application of stylistic features of the styles of past eras in the architectural and planning decisions of buildings of the late 19th – early 20th centuries have become the subject of comprehensive research.

The language of the city is expressed through the informative essence of architecture and urban spaces. This phenomenon is compared with the structure and features of language in linguistics and analyzed on the example of the city of Lviv. This research complements the theoretical understanding of the concept of the city language and can be also used to improve architectural practice.

As a result of the popularization of aerial archaeology methods in the last twenty-five years, a number of remains of monumental buildings from the Neolithic period, called roundels, have been discovered in western Poland. They had a circular plan and an external diameter of 70–200 m. They consisted of one or several circles of wooden palisade, which in turn were surrounded by circles of earth ditches. The northernmost site of this type was discovered in Nowe Objezierze near Cedynia – less than 80 km south of Szczecin. The author postulates to include these sites built of wood and earth in the history of architecture of our region, and shift its starting point to around the 49th–47th century BC, i.e. 2000 years before the construction of the Egyptian pyramids.

The landowners' houses together with the manorial and park layout gave a unique character to the landscape of Wielkopolska. They are characterized by high sensitivity in terms of the landscape capacity of the vantage points. This is because not only the loss of the historical building substance or greenery, but also the new buildings erected in their surroundings, disturb the legibility of the relics of the manorial economy. The problem is the point protection of these elementsfore, which will probably be emphasized soon by the results of the landscape audit. The Italian experience in the protection, planning and management of landscapes, the character of which was given by landowners, brings inspiring conclusions.

The present paper treats the network of railway water towers as a group of architectural objects forming the system of multi-dimensional connections - historic networked architectural resource (HiNAR). HiNAR functions within dimensions: technological one, reflecting technical and processrelated basis of the erection and functioning of towers as railway facilities; the organisational one as an object serving specific transport connections; the typological one at levels – local/regional, national or international. Perceiving a single tower as an architectural object does not allow to assess its significance and thus to correctly categorise the object in connection with the needs of conservator’s protection, as it is necessary to accept the role that it may be serving in a broader dimension.

This paper discusses the supposition that an architectural design is, in every case, a creative act. The problem of the work as a result of creative human labour, along with its copyright-related consequences, has become a leading theme in reporting the research. The creative aspect of professional endeavours was also raised, in this case, cost assessment. All this is presented against a backdrop of a general discussion on intellectual property while also pointing to cases of legislatively futile attempts at establishing authorship.
