With the evolution of Smart Grid, Power Quality issues have become prominent. The urban development involves usage of computers, microprocessor controlled electronic loads and power electronic devices. These devices are the source of power quality disturbances. PQ problems are characterized by the variations in the magnitude and frequency in the system voltages and currents from their nominal values. To decide a control action, a proper classification mechanism is required to classify different PQ events. In this paper we propose a hybrid approach to perform this task. Different Neural topologies namely Cascade Forward Backprop Neural Network (CFBNN), Elman Backprop Neural Network (EBPNN), Feed Forward Backprop Neural Network (FFBPNN), Feed Forward Distributed Time Delay Neural Network (FFDTDNN) , Layer Recurrent Neural Network (LRNN), Nonlinear Autoregressive Exogenous Neural Network (NARX), Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN) along with the application of Hilbert Transform are employed to classify the PQ events. A meaningful comparison of these neural topologies is presented and it is found that Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN) is the most efficient topology to perform the classification task. Different levels of Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) are added in the input features to present the comparison of classifiers.

The pattern recognition is the technique which is applied on the image to detect similar type of patterns from the image. The text detection and recognition are the techniques of patterns detection. To detect text area in the image techniques of image segmentation is required which will segment the area in which text is present. To mark the text from the image technique of neural networks is required which will learn from the previous values and drive new values on the basis of current network situations. In this paper, various techniques of image segmentation and neural networks has been reviewed and discussed in terms of their outcomes.

Financial mistakes made at any stage of life can be costly. To avoid such mistakes, financial literacy is very important. Financial literacy is buzzword now days, and its importance has accepted all over the world. Financial literacy is required for any financial decision making. But his term is subjective in nature. So it varies according to investors. Investing in stock market is still not so popular in India because of its complicated nature and lack of financial literacy. This paper attempts to find out the literacy levels of stock market participants of Bombay Stock Exchange. Stock market participation is strongly related to financial literacy. Previous research was focused on financial literacy and reasons behind less stock market participation. In this study, stock market participant’s financial literacy regarding stock market functions has been assessed. Those who participate in stock market are considered to be a risk taking investors, and it is expected that investor must have basic knowledge about stock market. BSE is one of the oldest stock market in world. So the participants of BSE will be the great population to test financial literacy levels. This study is based on primary data collected through a survey from BSE participants as well as on secondary data.

The salt water mixes with fresh water and forms brackish water. The brackish water contains some quantity of salt, but not equal to sea water. Salinity determines the geographic distribution of the number of marshes found in estuary. Hence salinity is a very important environmental factor in estuary system. Sand is one major natural aggregate, required in construction industry mainly for the manufacture of concrete. The availability of good river sand is reduced due to salinity. The quality of sand available from estuarine regions is adversely affected due to this reason. It is the responsibility of engineers to check the quality of sand and its strength parameters before using it for any construction purpose. Presence of salt content in natural aggregates or manufactured aggregates is the cause for corrosion in steel. In this study the amount of salinity present in estuary sand was determined. Three different methods were used to determine the salinity in different seasonal variations. The sand sample collected nearer to the sea was found to be high in salinity in all methods. It can be concluded that care should be taken before we use estuary sand as a construction material due to the presence of salinity.

Rainfall forecasting is very challenging task for the meteorologists. Over the last few decades, several models have been utilized, attempting the successful analysing and forecasting of rainfall. Recorded climate data can play an important role in this regard. Long-time duration of recorded data can be able to provide better advancement of rainfall forecasting. This paper presents the utilization of statistical techniques, particularly linear regression method for modelling the rainfall prediction over Bangladesh. The rainfall data for a period of 11 years was obtained from Bangladesh Meteorological department (BMD), Dhaka i.e. that was surface-based rain gauge rainfall which was acquired from 08 weather stations over Bangladesh for the years of 2001-2011. The monthly and yearly rainfall was determined. In order to assess the accuracy of it some statistical parameters such as average, meridian, correlation coefficients and standard deviation were determined for all stations. The model prediction of rainfall was compared with true rainfall which was collected from rain gauge of different stations and it was found that the model rainfall prediction has given good results.

Security is a major concern in today’s digital world. Role based access control provides a mechanism for protecting the digital information in an organization by assigning roles to the individual user and giving permissions to the assigned roles for accessing any resources. This paper describes the importance of roles in an organization and the evolutionary changes that occurs with respect to the organizational roles. Here the role is defined as an entity and the attributes of the roles have been identified with their related operations. The evolutionary changes that happens to the roles in an organization is identified and evolutionary algorithms have been proposed to handle these changes which helps in simplifying the formulation of access control policies.

For the last few years, education methodologies are drastically changing as per leaner’s needs. In the current competitive environment, if a learner wants to achieve a good grade in their course work the learner should focus on various parameters as per their learning style. In this paper, we focused mainly on learner-centric approach rather than teacher-centric approach. Learner -centric approach facilitates the leaner to involve in the teaching learning process. In this approach, educationist considers learning curricula, learning theories, learning styles, learning models, learning methods, and learning evaluation to understand learner’s effectively. Educationist can track the involvement of the learner and their progress by various approaches, but learning analytics is a modern approach to understand, focus and analyze learner’s easily with available tools and technologies. In this paper, we focused on learning analytics approach with a group of learners to understand their ability of learning based on cognitive theory and able to find slow and fast learners.

In this current world, everyone is worried about their safety due to increase in crime rate. This has led to an increase in the importance of a surveillance system. A system is designed for continuous monitoring and also the system provides live streaming. The system can be deployed at the anyplace i.e. office, house and some remote place where people cannot monitor the particular place. The system acts like a Robot within a local area network through Wi-Fi technology using Raspberry pi 3 , The live streaming is accomplished by using a webcam interfaced with raspberry Pi, it data provided is processed by MJPEG (Motion Joint Photographic Experts Group) streamer and the robot is controlled through webpage’s created. The system is programmed using python programming language.

Data mining suggest an innovative way of prognostication stereotype of Patients health risks. Large amount of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) collected over the years have provided a rich base for risk analysis and prediction. An EHR contains digitally stored healthcare information about an individual, such as observations, laboratory tests, diagnostic reports, medications, procedures, patient identifying information and allergies. A special type of EHR is the Health Examination Records (HER) from annual general health check-ups. Identifying participants at risk based on their current and past HERs is important for early warning and preventive intervention. By “risk”, we mean unwanted outcomes such as mortality and morbidity. This approach is limited due to the classification problem and consequently it is not informative about the specific disease area in which a personal is at risk. Limited amount of data extracted from the health record is not feasible for providing the accurate risk prediction. The main motive of this project is for risk prediction to classify progressively developing situation with the majority of the data unlabeled.
