Reading is a skill that is not easy for the student to understand in learning English. However, English teacher at that school still used the monotonous learning model in teaching reading. Hence, this study aimed to find empirical evidence whether teaching using a blended learning model was effective or not on students' reading comprehension of narrative text. This study used a quantitative method and quasiexperiment design. The experimental class and control class were the sample of this study. X DPIB 1 as experimental class consisted of 30 students and X DPIB 2 as controlled class consisted. To take the sample, the researchers used purposive sampling. Students in the experimental class were taught using the blended learning model. In contrast, the controlled class did not use the blended learning model. Theinstrument was a test, and it was divided into pre-test and post-test. The data among pre-test, post-test and gained score were analyzed by using t-test. The pre-test result showed that there were no significant differences between both classes. Then post-test showed that p=0,101 and was greater than α=0.05, and it meant no significant differences in both classes. Furthermore, gained score result showed that p= 0,466 and it also greater than α=0.05. Moreover, based on manual calculation the t0 (tvalue) = 0,762 and tt (ttable) = 1,672, it meant that t0 (tvalue) < tt (ttable) (0,762 < 1,672). Based on the calculation of the t-test, it was proved that the null hypothesis (H0) was accepted. It means that there was a significant effect onstudents reading comprehension who were taught with the blended learning model.

The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not picture cards are effective in enhancing the vocabulary mastery of seventh-grade students at SMPN Kota Baru Kefamenanu, East Nusa Tenggara Province, to identify their difficulties in learning picture types and vocabulary, and to classify their level of mastery. This study used a qualitative approach and a quasi-experimental research methodology to answer the questions posed by the three examples. To collect the necessary data, 20 seventh-grade kids were used as samples. They were instructed and tested twice (pretest and posttest). This study compared the mean score to the degree of freedom at a significance level of 5% to determine the efficacy of using picture cards. To determine their average score, their total number of scores was divided by the total number of students multiplied by the entire number of test items multiplied by 100%. In addition, to identify the challenging types of picture and word, the total number of correct/incorrect answers was divided by the total number of students and the total number of test questions and multiplied by 100 percent. Finally, in order to classify their level of expertise, the total number of students whose scores varied from 0 to 100 was tallied. The analysis of the data indicates that there is a substantial difference between the pre-test and the post-test. It indicates that the mean score on the pre-test was 45.5 (extremely low), but the mean score on the post-test was 81 (excellent) (good). Moreover, the degree of freedom at a significance level of 5% was 1.61. It was greater than the result of the post-significant test's difference, 2.28>1.61. The seventh-grade pupils of SMP Negeri Kota Baru Kefamenanu benefit significantly from the use of picture cards to enhance their vocabulary comprehension.

One of the most frequently provided services by school counselors is responsive service. For this reason, it is very important to understand the performance of school counselors in responsive services and the factors that influence these services. The objective of this study was to obtain a detailed description of school counselors’ performance in responsive services, self-knowledge, self-confidence, confidence in others and communication skills in Makassar. A quantitative ex post facto research design was employed. This study involved 128 counselors from public junior and senior high schools in Makassar. The participants were chosen using a simple random technique. The data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire. Data analysis utilized descriptive statistics as well as inferential statistics via regression analysis. The study results demonstrate that the counselors’ performance in responsive services, self-knowledge linked to responsive services, self-confidence, and confidence in students when conducting responsive services are moderately high. In contrast, the basic communication skills exhibited by the counselors are high. The counselors’ self-knowledge, self-confidence, confidence in students, and basic communication skills, respectively, have a favorable influence on the counselors’ performance in responsive services. As a simultaneous process, the counselors’ self-knowledge, confidence (in themselves and in students), and basic communication skills positively affect their performance in responsive services.
