Experimental investigation has been conducted on the influence of optical fiber temperature variations on Two Dimension Wavelength/Hopping Time/Spreading Incoherent Optical Code Division Multiple Access (2D-WH/TS iOCDMA) codes. Our experimental results show that in the literature reported approaches assuming a temperature induced coefficient Dtemp in optical fiber being a constant are only accurate when the selection of code carriers' wavelengths is from a relatively narrow spectral interval. This paper shows that if the selection of code carriers' wavelengths is from a wider spectral interval, neglecting to mitigate the wavelength dependency of Dtemp would have a significant impact on the recovered iOCDMA Autocorrelation function.

Introduction of modern and diverse applications in telecommunication field has raised challenges in networking area regarding efficient use of network resources and with optimizing performance. Therefore MPLS/GMPLS (Generalized multiprotocol label switching) networks were introduced to provide a better quality of service to meet users' requirements as well as to optimize network resources. GMPLS networks use traffic engineering techniques for more efficient communication within the network and help to optimize network resources. This paper proposes BAT inspired metaheuristic algorithm for selecting an efficient route in MPLS/ GMPLS networks. In our investigation we considered routing costs as an objective function with goal to minimize it. The paper uses BAT algorithm with various levels of loudness parameter. The simulation results show performance improvements in MPLS/GMPLS networks of different size.

In this paper we explore acceleration of the logarithmic likelihood ratio (LLR) belief propagation (BP) algorithm for LDPC codes decoding simulation, using parallel computation on graphics processing units (GPUs) with OpenCL technology. The proposed parallel implementation of the LLR BP algorithm includes parallel version of all decoding steps: decoder initialization, check and variable nodes update, a posteriori LLR calculation and decoding termination check. Decoder throughput was measured by simulating data transmission system with LDPC coding for DVB-T2/S2 (64800, 32400) and PEG (1008, 504) codes.

The comparison of two methods used to separate electrocardiography and electromyography signals: Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) and Fractional Order Calculus (FC) is presented. For quantitative evaluation, crest factor (CF) and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) values were calculated, where higher CF and SNR values were preferable. Results suggest that FC and EMD performance can be partially assessed by CF indicating better artifact cancellation with EMD approach by 9.72%. For FC and EMD, automatic fractional order application and intrinsic mode function selection were suggested and discussed, respectively. In summary, the results suggested that proposed filtering assessment should be enhanced for more appropriate FC and EMD method's assessment.

This paper describes the process and modifications necessary for UBIFS file system to properly function under Android Nougat. These modifications refer to BLKROSET ioctl() (input/output control) support and the required modes for fallocate() system call. All modifications have been performed on Android flavored Linux kernel, version 3.18. Validation has been performed by executing CTS test suite, executing LTP test suite and comparing custom test results to those of EXT4 file system.

Smart grid is the term used to describe the next generation power grid in which the management of electricity distribution is enhanced by advanced two-way communications, so that it monitors, protects, and takes decisions automatically to optimize the operation of its interconnected elements. The smart grid is made possible by combining two-way communications and persistent computing capabilities, to enhance control, efficiency, reliability, and safety. Using two-way digital technologies, a smart grid can transport electricity between suppliers and consumers. Such technology allows consumers to save energy, reduce cost and increase their smart appliances' efficiency, reliability and transparency. Software Defined Radio (SDR) is a promising technology, it can support the smart grid so that it can provide control, protection and automatic optimization to operate its interconnected elements effectively and efficiently. This paper proposes the use of Software Defined Radio (SDR) for Partial Discharge (PD) detection and localization at the user end in the smart grid.

The paper aims to propose a novel approach to rise the situation awareness about incidents, which can be considered as events in the complex event processing system. The central part of the proposed approach is network anomaly detection method based on fast harmonic analysis technique of telecommunication traffic and decision-making about abnormality in system functioning. The novel presented approach, as a whole, develops a new method that conforms main requirements of a brand new class digital railway network services, such as large data traffic volumes and real-time situation awareness. The developed methodology allows artificial intelligence algorithms of incident detection being embedded in the existed multilevel intelligent control system in Russian railway transportation.
