The content — This paper describes the procedure of application Adaptive Weighted Norm Extrapolation (AWNE) method on stripmap SAR image which was formed using Doppler Beam Sharpening (DBS) algorithm, in order to improve resolution in the azimuth axis. The characteristics of stripmap SAR recording are listed, as well as the causes of poor resolution in the azimuth axis of the DBS algorithm. Before using the AWNE method, the SAR data were modified in the azimuth axis. The result is that the resolution of the signal in the frequency domain is improved, which represents resolution improvement in the azimuth axis of stripmap SAR image.

This paper describes the results of frequency-domain indoor radio channel characterization using vector network analyzer in the 1.7–1.9 GHz frequency band. Channel impulse response estimate was obtained via inverse Fourier transform through repeated measurements of its transfer function. Statistical parameters of radio propagation, namely the channel's power delay profile and cumulative distributions of root mean square delay spread, mean excess delay and coherence bandwidth were evaluated and comparisons with results in literature were drawn.

Bibliometric techniques are widely used to study the factors leading to successful research, though this is not without its challenges. One notable problem is that academic data is very diverse, and involves complex interactions between many different entities and players. In this paper, a novel framework for analyzing heterogeneous academic data is proposed. While such a framework would have many different applications, this paper focuses on the design of an academic recommendation system, which is one interesting use case for this framework.

The translation lookaside buffer is designed on the base of STG DICE cells with transistors which are spaced into two groups together with transistors of the output combinational logic. The elements contain two spaced identical blocks for the resistance to impacts of single nuclear particles compared to elements on 6-transistors memory cells. Basic elements that were used have no upsets of states during simulations at the linear energy transfer on tracks up to 60 MeV×cm2/mg. In combinational logic of the elements of matching and masking short-term noise pulses can occur.

Wireless sensor networks represent technology for networking of sensor devices, as well as for other devices in IoT systems. The hierarchical routing protocols have many advantages when these networks are used in monitoring applications, with the energy efficient hierarchical multi-hop routing proposed for large scale networks that assures reliable data gathering in the non-ideal connectivity conditions. We here propose a modification of our previously designed multi-hop routing concept by employing clustering algorithm from HEED protocol in order to achieve uniformly placed clusters. The conducted analysis for several multi-hop protocols showed good performance of here proposed solution for ideal and non-ideal network connectivity.

In this paper we present an Android application for collaborative mapping and awareness in emergency situations based on Google Firebase platform. The main purpose of the application is to act as a tool for firefighters and other emergency workers that allow them to visually communicate the situation in the field by collaboratively creating a map and uploading multimedia files. The application was developed using Android framework with Firebase authentication and real-time database that allow secure authentication and real-time capabilities and at the same time significantly shorten the development time.

There are various ways a computer can detect QRS complexes, all of which depend on two main factors — the algorithm, and the data. In practice, doctors can pinpoint patient's R-peaks in an electrocardiogram by analyzing the complex morphology of the ECG signal; computers accomplish the same by utilizing different QRS detection algorithms. In this paper, we address the data problem to select the sample rate and resolution that obtain the highest accuracy. For this purpose, we conduct experiments to find the impact of the sampling frequency and resolution on the quality of the QRS detection, by several open-source QRS detection algorithms with multiple variations of data representation. The final goal is to recommend the lowest sampling frequency and smallest sampling resolution (bit depth), that will have sufficient data representation to enable high QRS detection accuracy.

We characterize the nonlinearities of a novel 10 W class-J power amplifier (PA) with a carrier at 1.5 GHz. We employ both numerical simulations and real time adjacent channel power ratio (ACPR) measurements on a fabricated prototype. The measurements are performed for a wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) signal with 10.5 dB peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) and 3.84 MHz bandwidth. For a 31.4 dBm modulated output power, the measured ACPR in the lower and upper adjacent channels was 37.89 dBc and 36.82 dBc, respectively, without predistortion.

The HbbTV 2.0 specification, published in 2015 by the Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV (HbbTV) Association aims to integrate companion screen devices (mobile devices, tablets, etc) into HbbTV environment. This enables broadcasters to utilize second screen devices in order to show additional content-related information, stream broadcast content or launch and install native applications. In this paper we present an environment and tools used for verifying DIAL functionalities on HbbTV 2.0 compatible devices.

Nowadays, there are many tools and applications available that use novel machine learning algorithms, but only few tools exist that bridge the gap between the computer scientists and general public. The latter especially holds for the field of natural language processing. Therefore in this paper we present a new information extraction toolkit, called nutIE, that offers a frontend for end-to-end text analysis using a modern javascript-based web application. The core of the toolkit includes all the high-level information extraction techniques with supporting preprocessing and evaluation methods. All these can be accessed by a Scala programmatic API or an arbitrary third-party application via REST interface. It has already been shown that the integrated toolkit's algorithms achieve state-of-the art results. The toolkit is currently applied at international text processing projects and courses.
