The article aims to discuss the politics and poetics of the images in the documentary ‘Bichas’, directed by Marlon Parente, from Pernambuco. The documentary brings the accounts of six young people who narrate experiences in different social spheres from their identification as ‘faggots’. The analyses incorporated the contributions of studies on the Visual Culture, and gender relations and sexualities in order to problematize the educational processes that lead us to think about how each character builds meanings and experiences of himself when assuming himself as 'faggot', resignifying the injury that this word represents to affirm ways of existing that challenge the cis-heteronormative visual regimes.

This article focuses on the relationship between young students in the second cycle of elementary school from the city of Juiz de Fora/MG and films that have young people as protagonists. The focus of the discussion is these young people’s perceptions of gender representations in films. To address these perceptions, we used the results of a study developed with young people of a school in the municipal public school system. The research-intervention had as main procedure the implementation of workshops for viewing and discussing films, whose objective was to understand the relationship of those young people with the audiovisual. One of the issues that emerged in the course of the activities was the gender representations built in contact with audiovisual narratives. The results were discussed in the light of Latin American communication studies, with Jesus Martin-Barbero and Nestor Garcia-Canclini as the main references, and gender studies and their relations with the media, developed by Guacira Louro.

In this article, we intend to discuss lesbianity and movie theater, interweaving concepts from the ‘imaginary of waters’, ‘closets’ and ‘heterotopias ’ . This writing has an objective to analyze the encounter between movie theater and the field of sexualities based on three clippings from scenes in the movie Reaching for the Moon (2013), direction by Bruno Barreto . In this case, we understand movie theater as an inventor of a pedagogy of look, the visual culture, which reveals subjectivities and modes of existence from its addressing ways. The analysis of the images was based on the scenes visualization as well as from the intersection with the theoretical framework. Finally, the story of Reaching for the Moon (2013) proved to be engaging and the subject of problematization and analysis taking into account the love between women, ‘the water’, the spatialities and the geographies of the bodies present in the images.

This interdisciplinary essay seeks to understand the universe of meanings in the works "Amem" (2015) and "Make America Great Again" (2017), by Spanish artist Abel Azcona from the perspective of performance, of pieces from the "real world" that seek to break the border between art and life, emphasizing aspects of contemporary artistic practices in movements that do not ignore current political conditions. The analyzed works demonstrate a complex structure between the private and the public of performances and happenings, and highlight Abel Azcona as one of the most provocative artists nowadays.

The objective of this paper is to reflect on the representations of the body in the images of the toy of miriti, a cultural asset of the city of Abaetetuba/Para. In this sense, we seek support in post-critical Cultural Studies, counting, among others, on Hall (2016), Kellner (1995), Foucault (1987) and Silva (1999). The methodological choice is for critical literacy , an emerging procedure for image analysis. By being intensely disseminated in blogs, books, T-shirts and handbags, the images of the couple of boyfriends represent the ideal body and couple, and they affect everyone, particularly high school youth. As it constitutes not only contemporary culture but also youth subjectivities in daily school life, the images deserve attention, because even if it represented hegemonic bodies, genders and sexualities, being its reversible representation, it is capable of constituting other ways of being and living.

This essay assumes that the production of images of non-straight sexuality is, often, parallel to the production of images of the heterosexuality itself. Therefore, with the aim of amplifying the possible ways of thinking and conceiving the fag body, this text presents the SUPERFAG as a conceptual character that crosses the writing, discussing the situations of existence and the necessary confront to the contemporary life. Written as an animation, the essay presents the birth and the epilogue of an anomaly faggot existence. Therefore, each section of the text discusses one of the problems still in vogue with the field of sexuality: the “fag” existence against the sacred “gay”; the queer childhood and the overprotecting families; the neofascism and the political wane for non-straight bodies. At last, it alludes to the resisting nature of the bodies against the capitalistic warmachine, and the ways of creation of unthinkable affects.

In this study we discuss the body in performance in a course of cultural mediation at the Blumenau Museum of Art. The art teachers from the region of Blumenau participated in a training course focused on aesthetic education and body. Performance art as an action that mobilizes the body was a medium of art creation and a trigger to the aesthetic experiences related to teachers' voices. Being hybrid and contemporary, this research has the theoretical support of Larrosa (2016), Duarte Jr. (2001), Josso (2007; 2012), Dias and Irwin (2013), Le Breton (2012), and Martins and Picosque (2012). From Art-Based Educational Research A/r/tography emerges to propose the intertwining of the identities of artist , researcher , and teacher . The theoretical and methodological support for the research and the creation of visualities are based on A/r/tography. The study has offered the Art Teachers the creation of art by means of performance and proposed the subversion of traditional ways of establishing cultural mediation in museum spaces. The main finding of the course was the expansion of possibilities for thinking about cultural mediation paths with a perspective focused on the body and its sensitive potentialities.

This article has the objective to discuss partial results of a PhD research that refers to the experience with music and its teaching in informal and religious contexts materialized in musical narratives. Such investigation adopted as theoretical framework the discussions about the concepts “formation” (BRAGANCA, 2011; CHIENE, 2010; CUNHA, 2010; DELORY-MOMBERGER, 2006; JOSSO, 2004; 2010a; 2010b; PASSEGGI, 2011b), “life history” and “narrative” (ABRAHAO, 2004; BOLIVAR; DOMINGO; FERNANDEZ, 2002; DELORY-MOMBERGER, 2011; 2014; FERRAROTTI, 2010; 2014; JOSSO, 1999; 2016; PASSEGGI, 2011a; PINEAU; LEGRAND, 2012, and others), mainly considering that it aimed to understand the ways through which the academics of the Undergraduation Course in Music produced meanings for their formative processes by developing musical-educational biographies. A contribution to the debate about the implications of the (auto)biographical approaches in teachers’ formative processes is expected above all in the interrelations between them and memories with music.
