This work includes analysis of the dynamics of the average air temperature during 50 years (1971–2020) and its effect on selected phenological parameters. Based on long-term series of observations, we show the shift of flowering period to earlier dates.

The PABGI seed nursery includes by 177 species and taxa of the intraspecific rank of perennial herbaceous plants from 27 families. About half of the species are in the landscape design assortment for the cities of the Kola Peninsula; 6 new species have been proposed as new and perspective for landscape design (Acomastylis rossii (R.Br.) Greene, Erigeron peregrinus (Banks ex Pursh) Greene, Incarvillea mairei (H.Lev.) Grierson, Lysimachia vulgaris L., Oreogeum montanum (L.) E.I.Golubk., Scilla bifolia L.) 3 groups of fruit-bearing species are distinguished: annually producing mature seeds, 90 %; not annually, 8 %; not producing seeds, 2 %

Basing on analysis of size and age structure and observation during 9 years within the two permanent plots in Arkhangelsk Region (Pinega district), dynamics of spruce (Picea obovata Ledeb.) and birch (Betula pubescens Ehrh.) populations was described in old-growth spruce forests. Because of rare tree layer, light regime in both communities is favorable: it enhances tolerance of spruce plants to strong soil moisture and reduces mortality in populations. But a lack of drained surfaces restricts recruitment of these populations.

The photosynthetic pigments content in the leaves and the state of Sorbus gorodkovii and on the railway stations areas in the cities of the Murmansk region were studied. It was revealed that the least weakened specimens are found in the city of Polyarnye Zori. The largest share of strongly weakened plants was noted in Apatity and Olenegorsk. Dead wood was found in Murmansk, Olenegorsk and Kandalaksha. The content of photosynthetic pigments in the assimilating organs of Sorbus gorodkovii in all studied habitats, except for Apatity and Olenegorsk, is comparable to the background. A change in the ratio of pigments in the direction of an increase in chlorophyll a and a decrease in the proportion of chlorophyll b and carotenoids was found, which was not associated with the impact of railway transport.

For the first time, communities of macrophytes and near-water hygrophytes in the tradition of floristic classification have been described for the Nenetsky reserve territory and for the East European tundra in general. They are assigned to 23 associations and 4 types of communities from 11 alliances, 9 orders and 5 classes of vegetation. Two associations of aquatic bryophytes (Calliergonetum megalophylli ass. nov. and Warnstorfietum trichophyllae ass. nov.) are new.

The paper provides information on the locations of the populations of the protected epiphytic moss Neckera pennata Hedw. and a number of their characteristics in the vicinity of the Cherepovets industrial complex (Vologda region). The monitoring data (change in the number and projective cover of turfs) in two locations were analyzed. It revealed that the main limiting factor for the growth of moss is the microclimate conditions in the places where populations exist: air humidity (indirectly, soil moisture, undergrowth development) and illumination.

In order to identify alien plant species on the territory of the Yuganskiy Nature Reserve (Western Siberia), cordons, stations and the adjacent territory were examined where in total 44 species from 40 genera, 18 families, 14 orders, 2 classes were identified. 26 species are new for the Yuganskiy Nature Reserve. The largest number of species is represented in the families Poaceae (8), Rosaceae (7) and Asteraceae (6). Of these, 17 species were introduced during the use of the research station. Dispersal of introduced species was not revealed. However, the habit, regular flowering and fruiting of most of the examined plants indicate their high vitality in the new ecological condition. Perennial garden plants such as strawberries, spring onions, raspberries reduce their area under the pressure of local meadow species. An annotated list of species is given, containing information about the place of discovery, ecological conditions of growth, date of observation, observer or collector, and the collection number of the specimen in the herbarium of the Yuganskiy Nature Reserve.

The seasonal dynamics of Bergenia crassifolia when introduced in the botanical garden of Syktyvkar State University was analyzed. It was found that the height of the plants (52,4 ± 4,8 cm) and the size of the leaves (length 15,0 ± 0,4 cm, width 11,2 ± 0,3 cm) correspond to the indicators of individuals from natural populations. This species successfully implements its adaptive potentials in the culture of the botanical garden in the middle taiga subzone. It went successfully through all stages of phenological development before the ripening of fruits and seeds.

The cytogenetic characteristics of Lactuca sativa lettuce seeds exposed in a package located inside the Bion-M1 biosatellite were studied. The absorbed dose according to solid-state dosimeters placed inside the package was 58 ± 3 mGy. There was a significant (p ≤ 0,001) increase in the percentage of cells with chromosome aberrations, cells with multiple aberrations, as well as the percentage of chromosomal bridges and fragments; the percentage of chromatid bridges and fragments was not significantly increased. At the same time, the seed vigor and germinating ability of the flight samples remain at the control level of 99–100 %.
