The process of electrochemical processing of the VNZh type heavy tungsten alloy (wt. %: 80 W, 16 Ni, 4 Fe) under the action of direct and alternating current of industrial frequency in an ammonia-alkaline solution has been investigated. It was found, that the process is accompanied by the transition of tungsten from the alloy to the solution and the formation of a microdispersed powder, based on iron and nickel.

In this work, we studied the effect of yttrium stearate on the physicochemical properties of dispersions of solid lipid nanoparticles composed of stearic acid stabilized with nonionic surfactants (Tween 60, Span 60). The results showed that an increase in the concentration of yttrium stearate leads to increasing kinetic stability and decreasing the average size of the aggregates. Along with this, the average size of single particles remains practically unchanged and amounts to 35±5 nm.

The article describes a perspective combined method of treatment molybdenite concentrate based on roasting with sodium carbonate and following water leaching process. This method is characterized by almost completely binding of the sulfur compounds into water-soluble sodium sulfate, conversion of molybdenite into water-soluble odium molybdate, and if concentrate contains rhenium - transform into water-soluble sodium perrhenate.

Nickel (II) and cobalt (II) salts were synthesized with saturated monocarboxylic acids: butyric, valeric, nylon, enanthic, and caprylic. The obtained compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and differential scanning calorimetry. As a result of thermolysis of the synthesized carboxylates, nanocomposites were obtained, which were studied by scanning and transmission electron microscopy, elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and X-ray phase analysis. The magnetic properties of the obtained nanocomposites have been studied.

The acid-base properties of the glauconite surface has been studied by potentiometric titration. Using a surface complexation model with a constant exchange capacity, it was shown that positively charged surface centers and exchange centers dominate in the acidic pH region, and negatively charged centers dominate in the neutral and alkaline regions. The corresponding constants of acid-base equilibrium have been calculated. The data obtained were used to study the sorption of cadmium and lead on glauconite.

Solid-phase synthesis of cerium-containing solid solutions based on ZrSiO4 was described. The synthesis was carried out using mechanical activation of a mixture consisting of zirconium oxide and hydrated amorphous silica with the addition of cerium oxide at a molar ratio of ZrО2:SiО2:CeО2 equal to 0.95:1.00:0.05. The mechanically activated in a centrifugal planetary mill mixture of reagents was calcined in the temperature range of 1200–1600 °C for 3 hours, which was accompanied by the essentially complete synthesis of zircon. The cerium content in the zircon structure was calculated from X-ray powder diffraction data.

The process of sorption of phosphate ion by silicon dioxide obtained by acid decomposition of nepheline is studied. The experimental data were processed using the Freundlich and Langmuir sorption equations, which showed that the sorption process is fairly accurately described by both equations, while the use of the Langmuir monomolecular adsorption equation is preferable in the calculations. The capacity of the adsorption monolayer of the synthesized sample relative to the РО43–-ion and the adsorption equilibrium constant are calculated. Based on the obtained data, various options for sorption treatment of municipal wastewater from РО43--ion to normalized MPC values were evaluated.

The article presents the results of the studies of the physicochemical and photocatalytic properties of titanium dioxide modified with manganese, by the example of decomposition of organic dyes — ferroin and methylene blue. The correlations between the specific surface area and phase composition of the composites with their photocatalytic activity are revealed.
