Developing a model for analysis of factors that affect cruise port ranking by ship arrivals 建立一个模型,分析影响邮轮港口按到达船只排名的因素

Cruise ports, as a component of the cruise industry, are strategic transportation infrastructures being the economic contribution they provide to the region. Understanding how and why ships are called at ports is remarkable for researchers, port-operators, and regional decision-makers. In this paper, a comparative model was proposed for the analysis of factors affecting cruise port ranking by ship arrivals. To apply the model, nine ports in the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts of Turkey were analysed with geographic, physical, and operational factors. Methods such as ranking, correlation, and hierarchical clustering were used. A strong correlation was found between the average ranking by eight-factors and the ranking by ship arrivals (ρ = 0.84, p-value < 0.05). Empirical results showed competitive ports, created a cluster (Kusadasi, Izmir, Bodrum) have longer berthing length, shorter sea-distance, and less artificialisation. Application of the model provided statistically reliable and empirically efficient results that guide researchers and practitioners.

Logistics performance index estimating with artificial intelligence 基于人工智能的物流绩效指标估算

The World Bank has presented the logistics performance index (LPI) to measure and rank countries' international logistics performance. Based on six different components, the impact of each LPI component should be further investigated. In this paper, performance criteria are ranked using MGGP. This ranking approach is the first kind of study that enables countries to prioritise and adjust measures to evaluate their logistics performance better. MGGP is a recent promising approach among machine learning techniques, and it is capable of creating linear or nonlinear prediction models. LPI datasets consisting of 790 records collected between 2010-2018 are used to train and test the proposed MGGP approach. MGGP help address the logistics performance based on the relative importance of factors. The simulation results show the superiority of the MGGP approach predicting the LPI score. The prediction equation generated by MGGP can be helpful, for policymakers and researchers in logistics, in establishing logistics plans.
