Amidst the intricate web of economic dynamics, the significance of banking performance resonates deeply, serving as a linchpin for a nation's financial equilibrium and economic prosperity. The imperative of vigilantly tracking the trajectory of banks' performance emerges as this vigilance underpins the stabilization and fortification of credit institutions. In the contemporary milieu, a landscape characterized by rapid transformations and economic nuances, the digital sphere is propelling a substantial metamorphosis, thus catalyzing an imperative for the assimilation of financial technology (FinTech) within financial services, particularly within banking institutions. This empirical study embarks upon a discerning journey, harnessing a cross-country lens and a panel dataset encompassing five prominent nations spanning the years 2017 to 2019. The central inquiry pertains to the nuanced interplay between the digital milieu, FinTech deployment, and the fabric of banking performance. The empirical analysis reveals a noteworthy confluence: the utilization of digital platforms and FinTech solutions bears a detrimental association with the performance of banking entities categorized as high-performing. Moreover, this inquiry unveils a nexus between FinTech variables, including solidity, inflation informer, and total productivity factors, with an adverse impact on Banks' Performance. However, a silver lining emerges as the study highlights the augmentation of bank financial performance through the confluence of liquidity, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and FinTech credit infusion. Emanating from these insights, the implications cascade expansively. For bank custodians and stakeholders, an enriched comprehension of the intricate interplay between FinTech and performance crystallizes, thereby fortifying the resilience of financial institutions against adversities through performance augmentation.

This scholarly investigation undertakes a comprehensive comparison of the diagnostic efficacy, precision, and sensitivity associated with neonatal brain Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in contrast to its counterparts, Computed Tomography (CT) scans and ultrasound. As the medical community has progressively become attuned to the long-term health implications of radiation exposure from CT scans, the imperative of a strategy mitigating this risk has gained prominence. In this context, ultrasound emerges as an alternative modality devoid of ionizing radiation. Employing a methodical approach rooted in systematic literature review, this study synthesizes five pertinent research works to unravel its research objectives. Empirical evidence substantiates that neonatal brain MRI surpasses both neonatal brain CT and ultrasound in diagnostic effectiveness. The underpinning rationale for this phenomenon lies in the heightened accuracy inherent to neonatal brain MRI procedures. To unravel the intricacies associated with disparities between neonatal and adult brain MRI procedures, the study meticulously investigates structural, shape, and size distinctions. This endeavor underscores the necessity for bespoke MRI apparatuses designed to account for these nuances. In pursuit of this objective, the integration of technologically advanced components such as compact scanners and refinements in magnetic and coil technologies has engendered tangible improvements. This innovation confluence bears testimony to the augmentation of patient safety, conferring a cascade effect wherein the precision of acquired MRI data underwrites accurate diagnoses and consequent therapeutic interventions. Conclusively, the study underscores the pivotal role played by recent MRI technological advancements in amplifying its efficacy within the niche domain of neonatal brain imaging. Prospective innovations within the MRI ambit stand poised to recalibrate performance benchmarks, thereby amplifying its diagnostic potency and broadening its scope of application.

The rapid proliferation of COVID-19 vaccines has emerged as a pivotal strategy to combat the ongoing pandemic. Vaccine hesitancy, influenced by various vaccine-related factors, significantly impacts the adoption of COVID-19 vaccination. Misinformation contributes to vaccine distrust and hinders individuals' willingness to receive the vaccine. Despite its critical importance, there remains a paucity of comprehensive studies focusing on the determinants of vaccine confidence, leading to a deficiency in implementation research aimed at understanding and modifying individuals' behavior towards COVID-19 vaccination. This research endeavors to examine the influence of three key dimensions of trust in the COVID-19 vaccine, namely vaccine reliability, transparency in information dissemination, and pharmaceutical laboratory investment in innovation, on individuals' intention to receive the vaccine. Furthermore, we investigate the repercussions of these dimensions on actual COVID-19 vaccination behavior. Our quantitative study comprises a sample of 240 participants and employs a rigorous analytical approach. The findings underscore that individuals' intent to vaccinate against COVID-19 is positively affected by all three trust dimensions, i.e., drug reliability, innovation investment, and information transparency. Importantly, this intention positively correlates with actual vaccination behavior. This study substantiates the utility of the behavioral approach and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) in elucidating vaccine hesitancy and the factors exerting influence on vaccine uptake.

In Peru, ongoing educational reforms have introduced evaluative measures to ensure that university educational institutions meet essential quality standards. However, the outcomes of these measures have raised concerns, highlighting the need for stronger collaboration, teamwork, and staff commitment among both teachers and educational administrators. This research investigates the intricate relationship between teacher management and job satisfaction within the Faculty of Business Sciences at the National University of Cañete. To operationalize the variables, we align with the Accreditation Model for University Higher Education Studies Programs, as proposed by the National System of Evaluation, Accreditation, and Certification of Educational Quality (SINEACE). Key dimensions considered include selection, evaluation, training, improvement, adequacy of teaching staff, recognition of teaching activity, and academic development plans. Employing a quantitative approach with a descriptive-correlational design, we conducted a comprehensive survey targeting the entire faculty population (comprising 120 teachers). Additionally, a documentary review guide was utilized. Our findings reveal a substantial positive correlation (0.715) between the variables under study and a moderate correlation between these variables and their respective dimensions. Consequently, we conclude that effective teacher management is pivotal in ensuring compliance with quality standards, ultimately bolstering job satisfaction as a vital institutional asset.

In the pursuit of achieving a harmonious equilibrium between electricity production and consumption, the integration of distribution generators (DG) has garnered substantial attention. Yet, the escalated integration of DG systems has given rise to the predicament of reverse power flow, instigating elevated system power losses and voltage profile distortions. Thus, an imperative emerges to judiciously apportion and dimension DG systems, complemented by the incorporation of battery energy storage (BES) systems, as a remedial measure against these challenges. In this scholarly work, we present an innovative approach rooted in a precise energy management strategy (EMS) aimed at the adept allocation and capacity optimization of (PVDG-BES) systems. The study employs a two-step optimization methodology, the former facet of which expounds on the influence of BES system integration on grid power losses and voltage profiles during stable operational conditions. Subsequently, a pioneering optimization technique is formulated in the latter facet to identify the optimal siting and capacity allocation of the aforementioned system based on an optimal EMS framework. The primary focal point of this investigation is the minimization of total power losses. Validation of our proposition is conducted on the IEEE 14-bus standard system, incorporating the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. Simulation outcomes incontrovertibly affirm the efficacy and robustness of the proposed EMS, yielding substantive reductions in power losses and noteworthy enhancements in voltage profile integrity. Notably, the implementation of EMS leads to a remarkable 31% reduction in total power losses as compared to the initial scenario, prior to the amalgamation of PVDG-BES components. In sum, this study epitomizes a comprehensive strategy for fortifying power grid efficiency by orchestrating the symbiotic interplay of distribution generators and battery energy storage systems through an adept energy management paradigm.

This study explores the multifaceted landscape of factors influencing the effectiveness of internal audit within the context of Vietnamese commercial banks. While a plethora of literature exists on the determinants of internal audit effectiveness, an unexplored dimension is the examination of spillover effects amongst companies operating within the same industry. This research addresses this gap by investigating not only the factors that impact the effectiveness of internal audit in Vietnamese commercial banks but also the inter-bank spillover effects of such effectiveness. Utilizing data obtained from 24 commercial banks listed on the Vietnam Stock Exchange and Vietnam Upcom (The Unlisted Public Company Market), we employ a Bayesian spatial regression model (a robust analytical tool) to conduct comprehensive analyses of the interrelationships and co-movements of internal audit effectiveness across these banks. Our findings offer empirical support for the positive effects of key determinants, namely, the "Competence of the IA Department," "IA Independence," and "Management Training Ground," on the effectiveness of internal audit in Vietnamese commercial banks. Notably, our results also validate the significant positive inter-bank spillover effect of internal audit effectiveness. This underscores the importance for banks to collectively prioritize measures aimed at enhancing the quality of internal audit, including the establishment of a joint internal audit association and the organization of collaborative training initiatives for internal audit personnel.

This research undertakes a comprehensive evaluation of the economic dynamics within the onion industry, concentrating specifically on the prolific "Onion Basket of the Philippines" and its extension throughout Southeast Asia. Employing the value chain model as a methodological scaffold, the study meticulously dissects the intricate fabric of activities within this sector, aiming to pinpoint the exact operations that confer amplified value and competitive edge to this agricultural commodity. Through a meticulous selection process encompassing 360 agrarian participants, primarily sourced from the preeminent onion-producing municipalities of Nueva Ecija—namely, Bongabon, Gabaldon, and Laur—this investigation orchestrates an exhaustive scrutiny of the financial implications and returns. By comparing analyses across both traditional post-harvest marketing and the integration of cold storage infrastructure, the study unveils pronounced differentials. Evidently, the incorporation of cold storage resources precipitates substantial revenue escalation for farmers, in stark contrast to immediate post-harvest sales. However, the accompanying capital outlay affiliated with cold storage mandates judicious deliberation. Given the considerable financial connotations, this research underscores the imperativeness of establishing rigorous regulatory frameworks governing onion cold storage practices. Employing the value chain model as a methodological scaffold, the study meticulously dissects the intricate fabric of activities within this sector, aiming to pinpoint the exact operations that confer amplified value and competitive edge to this agricultural commodity. Through a meticulous selection process encompassing 360 agrarian participants, primarily sourced from the preeminent onion-producing municipalities of Nueva Ecija—namely, Bongabon, Gabaldon, and Laur—this investigation orchestrates an exhaustive scrutiny of the financial implications and returns. By comparing analyses across both traditional post-harvest marketing and the integration of cold storage infrastructure, the study unveils pronounced differentials. Evidently, the incorporation of cold storage resources precipitates substantial revenue escalation for farmers, in stark contrast to immediate post-harvest sales. However, the accompanying capital outlay affiliated with cold storage mandates judicious deliberation. Given the considerable financial connotations, this research underscores the imperativeness of establishing rigorous regulatory frameworks governing onion cold storage practices. Furthermore, acknowledging the intricate mesh of interests embedded within the onion value chain, it advocates heightened vigilance and stringent oversight concerning stakeholders. This multifaceted investigation, beyond contributing empirical authenticity, serves as a clarion call for prudent stewardship of this pivotal agricultural domain.","PeriodicalId":46663,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced and Applied Sciences","volume":"30 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2023-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82778919","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The emergence of COVID-19 in Wuhan, China, in December 2019 led to a global crisis with profound implications for public health and the global economy. This study investigates the ramifications of the pandemic on the Vietnam Stock Exchange, recognizing its interconnectedness with global financial markets. Despite the considerable speculation surrounding the pandemic's influence on economic and financial systems worldwide, limited empirical research has been conducted on its specific impact on the Vietnam Stock Exchange. Employing historical data spanning from January 30, 2020, to April 27, 2022, sourced from a secondary dataset, this research empirically explores the performance of the Vietnam Stock Exchange during the COVID-19 pandemic period compared to a normal period. The findings reveal a significant decline in stock returns and heightened volatility during the pandemic, signaling adverse effects on the exchange's performance. Furthermore, the study applies Quadratic GARCH (QGARCH) and Exponential GARCH (EGARCH) models, incorporating a dummy variable, to scrutinize stock returns. The results corroborate the pandemic's negative impact on stock returns in Vietnam. This research underscores the importance of implementing strategic political and economic policies, including maintaining a stable political environment, promoting indigenous enterprises, diversifying the economy, and adopting a flexible exchange rate regime. These measures are recommended to enhance the resilience of the financial market and attract new investors to the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange.
