ABSTRACT In recent years, rural tourism promoting has experienced unusual development opportunities due to the positive effects of live streaming. Despite the previous literature emphasizing the importance of rural tourism live streams, the current study investigates the interaction effect between different types of broadcasters and rural tours on potential tourists’ travel intentions. Through a controlled experimental design with 194 participants, this study found that the congruence between broadcasters and rural tours significantly influences potential tourists’ travel intentions. Specifically, when villager (vs. celebrity) broadcasters recommend local culture tours in live streaming, potential tourists’ travel intentions are significantly higher, and this effect is mediated by internalization. On the other hand, when celebrity (vs. villager) broadcasters recommend natural ecology tours, potential tourists’ travel intentions are significantly higher, and this effect is caused by identification. This study contributes to the literature on rural tourism and provides practical implications for tourism marketers and broadcasters seeking to maximize the effectiveness of their promotion in live streaming.

ABSTRACT This study examined the role of personal norms, ascribed responsibility, eco-friendly reputation, and perceived moral obligation in tourists’ ecocentric and anthropocentric attitudes and behavioural intentions. This study also investigated whether tourists’ ecocentric and anthropocentric attitudes play mediating roles. The researchers distributed 800 questionnaires to international tourists in Malaysia; of those, 393 usable responses were included for further analysis. We applied partial least squares-structural equation modelling to test the theory and path analysis. The findings reveal that personal norms, ascribed responsibility, and eco-friendly reputations have significant relationships with ecocentric attitudes. Additionally, ascribed responsibility has a positive relationship with anthropocentric attitudes. The results also indicate the mediating role of ecocentric attitudes in the relationships of personal norms, ascribed responsibility, and eco-friendly reputation with intention. The findings reaffirm the norm activation theory and the theory of planned behaviour.

ABSTRACTIt is significant for the sustainable development of the exhibition to explore how pandemic risk communication and mitigation strategy impact on exhibition participating intention. By employing emotion appraisal theory, this study explored the influencing process how perceived risk communication and pandemic risk mitigation strategy affect exhibition participating intention with regarding perceived health risk and anxiety emotion as the mediator and perceived vaccine efficacy as the moderator. Both perceived risk communication and pandemic risk mitigation strategy not only can affect anxiety emotion directly, but also affect it through the mediation of perceived health risk. Additionally, they can affect exhibition participating intention through the mediation of anxiety emotion. The perceived vaccine efficacy negatively moderated the effect of pandemic risk mitigation strategy on perceived health risk. As such, the study provides valuable insights for exhibitors and policymakers seeking to increase the exhibition participating intention of potential participants.KEYWORDS: Perceived risk communicationpandemic risk mitigation strategyperceived health riskanxiety emotionexhibition participating intentionperceived vaccine efficacy AcknowledgementsWe would like to thank all of the respondents who answered our questionnaire. ABSTRACTDrawing from network externalities perspective in the Economics literature, this study investigates the antecedents of trust and users’ continuance intention in the context of hybrid online travel platforms (HOTPs). Data were obtained by surveying 489 users of HOTPs in China. The empirical results based on the PLS-SEM model showed that indirect and direct network externalities positively influence functional quality and hedonic quality respectively. Furthermore, both functional quality and hedonic quality of HOTPs positively affect users’ trust, which in turn positively affects users’ continuance intention and negatively affects perceived risks.KEYWORDS: Platform qualitynetwork externalitiestrustusers’ continuance intentionhybrid online travel platforms Disclosure statementNo potential conflict of interest was reported by the author(s).Data availability statementData used to support the findings of the study are available from the corresponding author upon request.Additional informationFundingThis work was supported by Humanities and Social Science Fund of Ministry of Education of China [grant number 22YJA630040].

ABSTRACTDigital transformation has become an inevitable choice for tourism companies to improve the resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic. This paper focuses on the influence of digital transformation on the resilience of tourism companies and clarifies the important role of digital transformation in enhancing the sustainability of tourism companies. Based on the data from Chinese tourism-listed companies, it is found that digital transformation can mitigate the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on corporate resilience. Heterogeneity tests indicate that digital transformation has positive effects on resilience for both eastern and non-state companies, and the resilience of large-, small-, and medium-sized companies benefit from digital transformation. Influence mechanism tests show that digital transformation can strengthen the resilience of tourism companies by increasing organizational flexibility, enhancing sustainable operation capability and shaping competitive advantage. The conclusions are of reference value for decision-making on the use of digital technology to enhance risk resistance by tourism companies.KEYWORDS: Digital transformationcorporate resiliencetourism companiesCOVID-19 pandemicDIDinfluence mechanism Disclosure statementNo potential conflict of interest was reported by the author(s).Notes1 The 5 years before the outbreak are represented by Before, e.g. Before1 is 2019, and so on. ABSTRACTBy building upon the dual coding theory of learning, this study aims to investigate the combined effects of perceived image and knowledge about world cultural heritage sites in Korea on willingness-to-pay an entrance fee. To do so, a 2 (image: absence vs. presence) x 2 (knowledge: absence vs. presence) experiment was conducted. Then, contingent valuation method (CVM) was used to estimate and compare tourists’ willingness-to-pay among four experimental conditions. The findings revealed that levels of perceived image and knowledge vary depending on experimental treatments, which substantially contribute to an increase in their payment intention for an entrance fee.KEYWORDS: Imageknowledgecontingent valuation methoddual coding theorywillingness-to-payworld heritage site Disclosure statementNo potential conflict of interest was reported by the author(s).

The findings revealed that levels of perceived image and knowledge vary depending on experimental treatments, which substantially contribute to an increase in their payment intention for an entrance fee.KEYWORDS: Imageknowledgecontingent valuation methoddual coding theorywillingness-to-payworld heritage site Disclosure statementNo potential conflict of interest was reported by the author(s).","PeriodicalId":47998,"journal":{"name":"Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136382723","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"管理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ABSTRACT In recent years, China has been gradually improving its tourism services along with its economic development. Inbound tourism not only boosts the economy of China, but also creates issues and challenges for tourism administration. The purpose of this study is to develop a novel text mining approach that combines topic modeling and sentiment analysis for exploring the dynamic evolution of topic intensity of destination attractions and discovering the reasons for foreign tourists’ dissatisfactions. To this end, we propose an LDA-based topic evolution model, develop a tourism-oriented VADER dictionary and introduce an integration method for screening negative reviews. Then, the approach was used to analyze 80,546 online travel reviews from foreign tourists on TripAdvisor for 10 popular destination attractions in China from 2011 to 2019. The findings can help tourism practitioners better understand the changes and trends of the topics over time as well as develop strategies with respect to tourists’ dissatisfactions.

Snorkellers’ environmentally conscious behaviour after visiting the Great Barrier Reef 浮潜者游览大堡礁后的环保行为

ABSTRACT The majority of tourists who visit Australia’s Great Barrier Reef (GBR) engage in snorkelling. Yet little is known about how snorkellers perceive this experience. The aim of this study was to investigate snorkeller behaviour by exploring their environmental opinions and to provide insights on the association between climate concerns and environmentally conscious behaviours of snorkellers. A self-administered questionnaire (n = 273) was distributed onboard reef tourism vessels visiting the study area. Approximately one-third of respondents believe that climate change and global warming are major threats to the GBR. Regression results indicate the environmentally conscious behaviour model (ECBM), a modified version of the norm activation model, is effective in understanding how a snorkeller’s level of climate concern (LCC) both directly and indirectly activates and influences a snorkeller’s environmentally conscious behaviour (ECB). LCC has a positive direct effect on ECB, and a positive indirect effect via environmental identity (EI), and personal environmental norms (PEN).
