Pub Date : 2023-01-01 DOI: 10.46609/ijsser.2023.v08i08.016
Saina Munjal
This essay explores the correlation between childhood trauma and serial killers, specifically the extent to which child abuse plays a role in the development of a serial killer. Previously done research has shown that the typical ‘profile’ of a serial killer usually includes some kind of abuse during childhood (Ressler, Burgess, Douglas, & Depue, 1985). Based on results of a study done by Mithell and Aamodt in 2005. On average , 50% of serial killers have experienced psychological abuse, 36% have experienced psychological abuse and 26% have experienced sexual abuse . This essay relies on a mix of primary and secondary research to explore the topic of child abuse and serial killing . with a focus on existing cases studies from around the world as well as research done by renowned psychologist, findings suggest that there is a definite correlation between child abuses and the development of a serial killer . However, the extent to which it plays a role is limited as there are other factors such as genetics, brain damage, mental illness and changes to the structure of the brain that may also have an impact on the development of a serial killer.

FACTORS AFFECTING DOMESTIC TOURISTS’ INTENTION TO CHOOSE DONG VAN KARST PLATEAU – HA GIANG TOURIST ATTRACTION 影响国内游客选择东凡喀斯特高原河江旅游景区意愿的因素
Pub Date : 2023-01-01 DOI: 10.46609/ijsser.2023.v08i09.031
Nguyen Thi Van Anh, Vu Tue Nhi
The research focuses on understanding the factors affecting domestic tourists’ intention to choose Dong Van Karst Plateau – Ha Giang tourist attraction. The factor model is built based on the theory of reasoned action model - TRA, the theory of planned behavior model - TPB and the tourism consumer behavior model of Engel, Kollat and Blackwell (1968).The research team conducted and received opinions from 478 Vietnamese tourists, including 277 people who have been to or intend to travel to Dong Van Karst Plateau - Ha Giang, in the near future. The number of valid votes included in the analysis of influencing factors is 256/277 votes. The collected data is then analyzed using the SMARTPLS method to test the influencing factors and influence levels. Research results show that at a 5% significance level, “Source of information” (NTT) has the strongest impact on domestic tourists’ intention to travel to Dong Van Karst Plateau, Ha Giang, with an impact level of 0.406.; Next is the factor “Perceived tourism capability” (NTKN), with an impact level of 0.351. The two factors, travel motivation (DCDL) and attraction image (HADD), are not statistically significant enough to conclude that they have an influence on tourists’ intention to choose the Dong Van Karst plateau – Ha Giang tourist attraction. With the results obtained, the research team exchanged and discussed ideas to develop tourism in Dong Van Karst Plateau, Ha Giang.

In previous papers, we have reported an assessment technique called Cognitive Structure Analysis (CSA) that is designed to assess the concepts that people have, not just how well they can give correct answers to questions. Types of knowledge covered by CSA include facts, procedures, problem solving strategies and rationales (why things work the way they do). Experimental tests of CSA have showed high correlations between the assessments of student knowledge and how well students perform on problem solving tasks. The present paper explores whether students can be taught how to use CSA to self-assess the knowledge they have about a topic they have just been taught. 16 students attending a gifted and talented high school were initially given instruction on how to self-assess using CSA. They were then given a lesson in calculus and asked to self-assess their own knowledge. They were then given a problem solving test that required knowledge of the topic they were just taught. Self-assessment protocols were evaluated with items listed in the protocols assigned to one of five categories: knowledge believed by the student to be relevant but not actually relevant; knowledge that the student knew was relevant and that the student did know; knowledge that the student knew was relevant but the student knew s/he did not have; knowledge that the student knew was relevant and believed s/he had but actually gave the wrong information; knowledge that was actually necessary to solve the problems but the student did not mention at all. Results showed that students’ self-assessments, on average, were 92% accurate, meaning of the knowledge required for problem solving, either students both knew the relevance of the knowledge

ANALYSIS ON THE INHIBITION OF GREEN FINANCE ON CARBON EMISSIONS IN FUJIAN PROVINCE UNDER THE NEW DEVELOPMENT PATTERN 新发展模式下福建省绿色金融对碳排放的抑制分析
Pub Date : 2023-01-01 DOI: 10.46609/ijsser.2023.v08i09.002
Shiya Zhang, None Jie Ye
This paper studies the relationship between green finance and carbon emissions, aiming at finding ways to curb carbon emissions in Fujian Province, and then adding theoretical basis for carbon reduction in China. By collecting and sorting out the relevant data of Fujian's carbon emission intensity, green investment and green insurance from 2005 to 2019, and using the multiple linear regression model, this paper analyzes and discusses whether green investment and green insurance have an inhibitory effect on Fujian's carbon emission when they work together. It is found that when green investment and green insurance work together on carbon emissions in Fujian Province, they can play a positive role in curbing carbon emissions. Therefore, we should vigorously develop green finance, realize the transformation of economic green development, improve the development system of green industries, encourage and guide social funds to flow into the field of ecological protection, and provide a strong guarantee for the development of green finance in China.

The present study adopts a mixed method, using both quantitative and qualitative methods. It investigates the frequently used titles by members of the deaf community and hearing people and it also explores the differences in the hearing and the deaf groups’ attitudes towards the titles. The results show that the hearing group's acceptance of descriptive language and normal language is significantly higher than that of the deaf group, suggesting that deaf people are more sensitive to titles emphasizing their hearing disability and titles emphasizing the normality of the hearing people.
