Abstract Analysis of CCAPS-34 scores on a large (n = 4,852) university counseling center student sample supported internal consistency (α = .803-.896), one-month test-retest reliability (rtt = .706–.829), convergent and divergent validity, and good model fit. Measurement invariance of scores for all categories of race and student status was supported.

Abstract The Daily Life Experiences – Frequency scale (DLE-F) measures the frequency of 18 racial discrimination experiences. Bifactor exploratory and confirmatory analyses indicated that the DLE-F is a unidimensional scale that yields valid and reliable scores. The DLE-F also showed evidence of measurement invariance by gender, convergent evidence, and criterion-related validity.

Abstract The factor structure and psychometric properties of the Identity Style Inventory-5 were evaluated with 579 college students of color. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses suggested a modified four-factor model with 18 items. Configural, metric, and scalar invariance of the modified model was supported across three racial/ethnic minority groups.

Development and Initial Validation of a Social Media Identity Distress Scale Among Emerging Adults 新兴成人社交媒体身份困扰量表的开发与初步验证

Abstract This study provided preliminary evidence for a new Social Media Identity Distress Scale (SMIDS) using two subsamples of emerging adults (18-25 years of age) from Amazon Turk (each n = 373). The factor analysis revealed a single-factor scale explaining 72.9% of the variance in the items and supported a 20-item version of the original 66-item instrument. The evidence of convergent validity and reliability supported using the SMIDS as a potential instrument to evaluate the mental stress regarding the ability to create a coherent self-concept while engaging in social media activities experienced by emerging adults. Implications for practice and future directions of research are provided.

Abstract This study tested factorial structure, reliability as well as gender, age, and cultural measurement invariance of the Brief Inventory of Thriving (BIT). Data were collected from 981 Italian, Portuguese, and Chinese emerging adults. Results showed that BIT scores were reliable, mono-dimensional, and suitable to assess thriving across different populations.

Abstract We examined the psychometric properties of the Counselor Burnout Inventory (CBI) with 560 early career, post-master’s counselors. We tested the dimensional structure of the CBI, item ordering, and the function of the rating scale using item response theory. Implications of the findings for researchers, counselors, and counselor educators are discussed.

Abstract The Racist Aggressions on Social Media (RASM) survey, with adapted scales to social media, was developed and tested. Results indicate that the instrument yields reliable and valid scores to measure the impact of racist aggressions encountered on social media by U.S. college students of color, and on their college experiences.

Abstract Using a multiphased and mixed method approach to instrument development, the ISS-C was composed of 16 items extracted into four factors, which demonstrated adequate model fit. The ISS-C scores showed good internal consistency, convergent validity, and temporal stability, while some aspects of discriminant validity remain suboptimal.

Abstract We developed the Beliefs and Evaluations About Counseling Services (BEACS) scale by incorporating a mathematical formula adopted from the Theory of Reasoned Action. We conducted three studies using distinctive samples for item generation, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, and obtained the validity evidence for scores from the scale.
