Sociological perspectives on the mental health and wellbeing agenda in education 教育中心理健康和幸福议程的社会学视角

In the UK and other countries there is currently a salient mental health and wellbeing policy agenda which is playing out across the education system, including in schools, colleges and universities, as well as in adult community learning, early years settings and workplace training. It is being driven by perceptions of a crisis of mental health and wellbeing (Ecclestone 2014; Lewis, Ormerod, and; Ecclestone 2020), with educational settings viewed as key sites for intervention (DH and DfE 2017; DHSC and DfE 2018; Hurry et al. 2020). Heightened concerns about children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing have been a key driver for the agenda, and have been ratcheted up by the recent COVID19 and cost-of-living crises. During the pandemic there were fears about social isolation during periods of restrictions exacerbating mental health issues among the UK population (Mind 2020) and wellbeing problems associated with loneliness which were already highlighted by Teresa May’s UK government (HM Government/DCMS 2018). Reports highlighted the effect of this isolation on the mental health and wellbeing of some groups in particular, including children and young people (Mind 2020; ONS 2020b). There were also reports of increases in domestic violence, child abuse and alcohol issues among the UK population during the pandemic (Finlay and Gilmore 2020; Svensson and Robson 2020). The impact of the crisis on mental health inequalities, as the effects of the pandemic have ‘interacted with existing divides by income, age, gender and ethnicity and in many cases exacerbated existing inequalities’ (Blundell et al. 2020, 298) have been discussed, with reports highlighting the long-term nature of many of these effects (British Academy 2021). In terms of gender, research showed how women bore the brunt of the social impact of the crisis, including responsibility for childcare and homeschooling resulting from school and nursery closures, and the effects of this on their mental health and wellbeing (Andrew et al. 2020; Blundell et al. 2020; Svensson and Robson 2020; Zhou et al. 2020), with women more likely than men to experience depression during the pandemic (ONS 2020a). The ongoing impacts of the pandemic for women’s equality in the workplace have also been highlighted (Fawcett Society et al. 2021). At the time of the pandemic we also saw the ten year review of the Marmot Report on health inequalities in England (Marmot et al. 2010), which showed an increasing health gap between wealthy and deprived areas, including in relation to mental health, and a decline in life expectancy for the poorest ten per cent of women (Marmot et al. 2020). On top of the pandemic, the mental health and wellbeing impacts of the recent cost-of-living crisis in the UK have been widely discussed (e.g. Munro, Allen, and Marmot 2023; Nuffield Health 2023). Supervising Self-Efficacy During the Home Office Using Management Control Systems 利用管理控制系统监督家庭办公期间的自我效能

Due to the unprecedented circumstances of the last two and a half years, the organizations are facing unprecedented challenges. After the official recommendations for work from home and the re-entry of employees to the office environment – many other questions arise. First, are the employees satisfied that they are back in the office? Is working from home possible? What are the results of the employees’ monitored working time from home? These and many other issues are a major focus of employers in the field of consulting services. The current article aims to explore the concept of self-efficacy and its follow-up based on management control systems. This study is theoretical. Methods of induction and deduction, including analysis and synthesis, are at the article’s core. The results show that well-established management control systems in organizations with consulting services can use the home office as a motivational tool.

The main goal of all governing bodies is to make correct management decisions, which are legal and show efficient and good management of enterprises. In the case of transactions between related parties, it is necessary to derive their fair value.The purpose of the research in the present study is to determine the influence of different methods for deriving fair value.The research thesis is that improving the understanding of the application of the various valuation methods would lead to a more correct and reliable determination of the fair value in the presence of related parties, which in turn would lead to more justified and more adequate management decisions.

Problems and Trends in Human Trafficking in Republic of Bulgaria 保加利亚共和国人口贩运的问题和趋势

Human trafficking, particularly of women and children, is one of the current/pressing themes nowadays. Even though slavery as such was prohibited more than 200 years ago, in recent times, strikingly similar practices have emerged. Annually, between 700 000 and 4 000 000 men, women and children are bought, sold, shipped and kept in captivity against their will and under circumstances which could safely be described as slavery. The aim of this article is to analyze the problems associated with human trafficking in Bulgaria in order to propose measures for improving counteraction against it. The results of this study are significant for formulating prevention and combat strategies against human trafficking in Bulgaria.

Reading is one of the basic skills that each child has to cover while in school. But there are some other skills that each child has to master before starts reading. In this article I will focus on the pre-reading skills, how to use them and how to make reading fun and easy for the children in primary school. They are all easy and fun to use, but I will focus on the problem that we do not have enough time to use them in state schools and what we can do to implement them in our classes.

The Possible Mechanisms of Firms’ Work After Covid-19 Pandemic 新冠肺炎大流行后企业工作的可能机制

This study aims to research the possible changes in the mechanisms of firms' work after Covid-19 pandemic. It implements a qualitative method by taking a purposive sample of 32 managers and deputies who were interviewed online at 8 companies in Austria. The results revealed that three companies achieved great success due to the nature of their work. Two companies achieved success due to new organizational and marketing mechanisms that were strongly taken to adapt to the new crisis. As for the remaining companies, the administrative slack and excessive bureaucracy prevented them from overcoming the repercussions of the crisis.

Principles of Management Accounting: A Critique 管理会计原理:批判

This paper gives a critical evaluation of the five main sets of management accounting principles formulated in the accounting literature over the last eighty years. The aim is to problematize management accounting principles as a crucial research area that requires reconsideration and integration of contemporary achievements in science. The main weaknesses of the existing management accounting principles have been identified. These weaknesses are due to the theoretical foundations used or the inductive approach applied. They lead to the uncritical acceptance of the old imperative that, by definition, there is a direct relationship between management accounting information and the organizational value created. The moderating role of the human aspects remains somehow widely underestimated. These aspects make the creation of organizational value a behavioral problem that requires behavioral solutions. A possible behavioral solution is to further develop management accounting principles in the field of behavioral sciences and to work on the development of behavioral principles of management accounting. This general idea concludes the contribution of the paper to the existing accounting literature.

The pandemic of COVID-19 hit Europe at the beginning of 2020 and put the entire population to a huge test, greatly affecting the transport sector. The performance of transport companies is influenced by various factors, most often divided into external and internal. This paper discusses and analyses external factors (macroeconomic conditions, unemployment, legislative and regulatory changes and tax policy) and the extent to which there has been change before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of the paper is to derive the performance of certain externalities to what extent they are affected by the pandemic based on publicly available information and what impact their magnitudes would have on the transport sector. At the same time, the conclusions from the external factors considered, systematized and analyzed are usually part of any more in-depth business analysis – be it a business plan, financial and economic analysis, development concept, etc.
