This work aims to address the challenge of risk and return assessment in investment projects within the field of engineering management by proposing an innovative evaluation method based on a Back Propagation Neural Network (BPNN). By constructing and training the BPNN model, it successfully predicts the risk levels and returns of projects using a large dataset of historical engineering project data, significantly enhancing the accuracy of predictions and the scientific basis for decision-making. Experimental results show that, compared to traditional evaluation methods, the BPNN model demonstrates clear advantages in prediction accuracy, factor analysis, and decision support. The work also reveals limitations in areas such as data quality, model interpretability, and consideration of external factors, indicating directions for future research. The contribution of this work lies in showcasing the potential applications of artificial intelligence technology in engineering management. Moreover, this work provides new approaches and tools for risk assessment and return prediction of investment projects, with important theoretical and practical value.

With the rapid development of the digital economy and the continuous promotion of the green development strategy, whether the digital investment of enterprises can enhance their environmental performance has become an urgent issue to be explored. Taking A-share listed companies in China from 2017 to 2022 as a sample, this paper empirically analyzes the effects of digital investment on corporate environmental performance and the heterogeneity characteristics, and tests the mediating roles of agency costs and green technology innovation. It is found that digital investment can significantly enhance the environmental performance of listed companies, and the results of robustness test show that this conclusion still holds. In terms of the mechanism of action, digital investment will enhance the environmental performance of listed companies by reducing agency costs and promoting corporate green technology innovation. Firms' ESG performance is a vital factor for sustainable development. Corporate export, as one of the most significant firm international strategies, plays a crucial role in their decision-making. This study conducts theoretical analysis and empirical tests on the relationship between firm’s ESG performance and corporate export using panel data of Chinese listed companies from 2011 to 2016. We employ the fixed effect regression model based on the panel dataset and find that firm’s ESG performance significantly positively affects corporate export. Our main findings have certain implications for enterprises in coping with sustainable development and empowering the international corporate strategy.

This paper explores the economic theory of sustainable development and its application to the coordination of resources and the environment. It first describes the evolution of the concept of sustainable development and the main theoretical models, and analyses the relationship between resource scarcity and economic development, environmental issues and economic analysis. This is followed by a discussion of the implementation strategies of resource management policies and environmental protection policies, as well as the experiences and challenges of developed and developing countries in sustainable development. In particular, the current situation in China is analysed, and policy recommendations and future perspectives for promoting sustainable development in China are presented. The introduction of blockchain technology in e-commerce supply chain logistics management can effectively improve the operation effect. The problems existing in the current e-commerce supply chain logistics management mode are analysed on the basis of an overview of blockchain technology, and then the feasibility of e-commerce supply chain logistics management mode under blockchain technology is explored. The study concludes that: blockchain technology has distributed bookkeeping characteristics, which can effectively solve the problem of information asymmetry in the e-commerce supply chain, and the programmable contract in the blockchain can match all the information in the process of payment and transaction of e-commerce supply chain, identify the responsibility of the transaction, realise the traceability of the goods, and reduce the risk of the transaction.
