The derivation for boiling point elevation (BPE) for polymer solutions goes back to mathematics of the Clausius-Clapeyron equation combined with Raoult's Law or the Gibbs-Helmholtz equation combined with Raoult's Law. BPE can be used to measure polymer molecular weight and is effective when the concentration of polymer approaches zero. The limit of superheat for polymer solutions formula (LSPS) was derived by (Jennings, 2012) [1], a complicated derivation involving the surface tension in particular. (Jennings and Middleman, 1985) [2] Published data that agrees with Jennings' formula. BPE and LSPS have various uses that will be discussed as will the parallel between the two equations.

Training is that important part of organisational function that directly contributes to the development of human capital resources, which are directed towards maintaining and improving job performances. It is believed that training has positive impacts in protecting the environment under certain circumstances. This paper derives from an empirical perspective which descriptively presents a factorial account of training given to staff of National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency. Findings revealed a strong indication that various training given enable them work effectively and improves work efficiency when faced with disaster situation. It concludes that staffs perceive training differently, and that training has the implication for work improvement and recommends that timely training should be constantly reviewed to improve environmental protection.

The introduction of School based Assessments in Zambia were aimed at improving the teaching and learning as well as raise the bar of students performance in the country. However, the implementation of SBA in secondary schools faces unique challenges, particularly in the context of Zambia, exacerbated by the global COVID-19 pandemic. This study investigated the implementation of SBA in science subjects within selected Zambian schools, aiming to develop an evidence-based framework for sustaining the quality delivery of SBA in science education. Through a comprehensive investigation, this research examined the alignment of SBA practices with guidelines and identified gaps in implementation processes. Key objectives included assessing the evaluation of SBA policy since its rollout, examining administration processes, identifying challenges faced by stakeholders, and proposing interventions for improvement. Methodologically, the study employed tools such as questionnaires, interviews, and Focus Group Discussions to collect data. Qualitative data was analysed thematically while quantitative data was analysed using SPSS tool. Research findings revealed that teachers perceived SBA as a process of enhancing teaching and learning of science through the conduct of experiments which in turn improved teachers’ capacity and confidence in handling practical lessons. SBA provided teachers with an opportunity to closely monitor learners’ strengths and weaknesses as well as checking progress of learning. However, a considerable number of teachers held that SBA was an additional load onto their already burdened schedules but mandated to implement it as it was policy. Low staffing levels, time allocated to each science period, the number of tasks, inadequate laboratories and apparatus, resource constraints, high levels of enrolment resulting from positive response of Free Education Policy, many classes to teach by one teacher and lack of motivation, dominated the challenges faced by teachers in SBA implementation. The categorization of SBA revealed a duty-bound approach towards SBA (symbolic compliance), as SBA marks were mandatory for totalling learners’ final marks at the end of secondary school level. The study's recommendations aimed to enhance SBA implementation and foster positive educational outcomes. Furthermore, suggestions for future research include exploring the long-term impact of SBAs on academic performance, conducting comparative studies across different subjects, investigating technology integration, and exploring stakeholder perspectives. The research has contributed valuable insights to the discourse on educational assessment practices, providing a foundation for informed decision-making and strategic actions to improve science education in Zambian schools and beyond.

This work presents an upgrade on the legacy version of the Centre for Basic Space Science (CBSS) indigenous Weather Station. The station is a microcontroller-based system that employed the use of sensor modules to acquire atmospheric, environmental and soil parameters values for scientific purpose. These data variables, station’s coordinate and owner’s informations are logged into an on-board Random Access Memory (RAM) in a Comma-Separated Value (CSV) format. The information is transmittable via radio telemetry setup to a handheld user-interactive communication console sub-system. In the event of components’ failure, the system offers precise identification of these failed components for ease of troubleshooting and maintenance.

In order to optimize the public transportation system within a campus and reduce the use of private motor vehicles, buses on a campus in Lampung, Indonesia, need to improve their services by adding attractive features, especially for students. However, the addition of these features needs to be tailored to student preferences to be effective in meeting their needs as bus passengers. This study employs the Kano method to investigate students' tendencies towards eight features to be added to campus buses. From the survey and interview process conducted, it was found that only two features were considered attractive by participants, while the rest were categorized as indifferent. Ranking these features into a priority list will aid in the bus service improvement process by identifying which features are most important to add and which ones are unnecessary.

This study assessed the level of effectiveness of Philippine Grains Standardization Program (PGSP) of the National Food Authority in the areas of advocacy, quality standards, packaging, labeling, and color-coding, enforcement, and regulatory through data triangulation from among the external assessors and implementers in Negros Occidental. Moreover, when the program is assessed according to external assessors composed of millers, wholesalers, retailers, and farmers, they have evaluated the level of effectiveness of the program as an average while implementers assessed it as high. There was no significant difference in the level of effectiveness of PGSP in the areas of advocacy, quality standards, enforcement, and regulatory while there was a significant difference in packaging, labeling, and color-coding when grouped according to external assessors. On the other hand, when the assessors are grouped into implementers and external assessors, there was no significant difference in the level of effectiveness in the areas of packaging, labeling, and color-coding, enforcement and regulatory whereas, there was a significant difference in advocacy and quality standards. From the narrative of key stakeholders of the grains industry, PGSP has disclosed issues and gaps that need to deal with by the implementers to enhance its effectiveness. The result of the study was the basis for planning a proposed program for the enhanced implementation of PGSP in Negros Occidental.

This journal article investigates the knowledge and experiences of orange farmers in Namsaling village, situated in the Ilam District of Nepal, concerning climate change. The study aims to assess farmers' awareness of climate change, its impact on orange cultivation, and its effects on their family economy. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions with orange farmers. The findings demonstrate that farmers possess a substantial understanding of climate change and its implications for their agricultural practices. They have observed changes in temperature, rainfall patterns, and occurrences of pests and diseases, directly affecting orange production. Farmers have adopted various adaptive measures, including altering cultivation practices, cultivating genetically modified crops, implementing irrigation systems, and using organic fertilizers to sustain their family economy. However, challenges such as limited access to climate information, financial constraints, and the need for additional training hinder effective climate change adaptation in the region. This study offers valuable insights into the experiences and perspectives of orange farmers, emphasizing the importance of targeted interventions to enhance their adaptive capacity and promote sustainable orange cultivation amidst the challenges posed by climate change.

The peculiar position and significance of the Niger Delta region to the economic and political stability of Nigeria is self-evident. As the region with the largest deposit of crude oil and gas which is the mainstay of the economy, the Niger Delta necessarily occupies a central place in the economic destiny of the country. It is pedestrian that the exploration and exploitation of crude oil is now a common phenomenon in the area and the presence of numerous oil locations and gas flare points all over the region is a clear confirmation of the prevalence of oil related activities in the Niger Delta. This paper examines the various types and causes of conflicts pervading the Niger Delta Region till date and notes that unless there is equitable distribution of the proceeds of the petroleum sector and a buy-in of the relevant stakeholders, the drivers of the conflict ravaging the region will continue to thrive.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a common malignancy detected. Approximately, 22% of CRCs are metastatic at initial diagnosis, and about 70% of patients will eventually develop metastatic relapse. Metastatic colorectal cancer is a disease with poor prognosis whose treatment is always palliative chemotherapy. Today, thanks to the knowledge of molecular biology and the discoveries of new pathways, we have managed to increase survival to around 40 months which can increase thanks to the use of surgery and locoregional treatments. The choice of chemotherapy in these patients therefore depends on the characteristics of the molecular profile and includes, in fit patients, chemotherapy with the addition of targeted therapies. In this article, we examine the most recent data from randomized clinical trials supporting the use of chemotherapy triplets or doublets as well as the addition of bevacizumab or anti-epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) agents.
