The need to meet the all-year round green vegetable demands of the ever-growing population, especially in the urban and peri-urban towns of Ondo State, has made dry-season irrigation inevitable. Moreover, dry-season green vegetable farming provides an opportunity for smallholder farmers to further extend their cropping season, increase productivity, and ultimately improve their earnings. Thus, the aim of the present study was to carry out an assessment of irrigation water quality for dry-season green vegetable (Amaranthus crentus L.) farming in Ondo State, Nigeria. Ten (10) water samples covering at least three (3) major towns/cities in each of the three senatorial districts were collected from different green vegetable farms across the state during the dry season. Thereafter, samples of water collected were taken to the laboratory for both physicochemical and microbial analyses. Mean values of physicochemical parameters such as pH (6.12), EC (338.8 µS/cm), turbidity (4.03 NTU), TSS (0.428 mg/L), TDS (169.4 mg/L), and BOD (2.141 mg/L) were within the permissible levels, while COD (154 mg/L) and total hardness (135.24 mg/L) were above the limits. Microbial analysis also showed that total viable coliform counts (TVCC) were higher than the recommended limit, while total viable E. coli counts (TVEC) fell below detectable levels. Therefore, it was concluded that the irrigation water used for dry-season green vegetable farming in Ondo State was relatively of good quality, which serves as an encouragement to both farmers and consumers of the vegetable. However, given the higher levels of total hardness and TVCC, continuous monitoring and assessment of irrigation water quality in the state, especially beyond the areas presently covered, and awareness campaigns against urban surface water pollution to prevent potential faecal contamination of the sources and avert possible ingestion of pathogenic organisms through the consumption of green vegetables are recommended.

Background: Gastrectomy, the surgical removal of all or part of the stomach, is a critical intervention often employed in cases of gastric cancer. Among the various techniques utilized in gastrectomy, two primary methods have gained prominence: Roux-en-Y anastomosis and intestinal interposition. Both techniques aim to restore gastrointestinal continuity and functionality post-surgery, yet they differ in their approaches and outcomes. This article evaluates the efficacy, benefits, and drawbacks in the context of gastrectomy. Patients and Methods: A retrospective study was conducted at the Surgical department of Complex Oncological Centre of Shumen, Bulgaria between March 2019 and November 2023, including 55 patients, 35 maled and 20 females who underwent gastrectomy for gastric cancer or peptic ulcer disease. Roux-en-Y anastomosis was used in 30 and in 25 patients was used intestinal interposition. Medical records of eligible patients were reviewed to collect demographic data, preoperative clinical characteristics, surgical details, and postoperative outcomes. Results: The total number of complications amounts to 10, - 2 in Roux-en-Y and 8 after intestinal interposition. Complications in intestinal interposition are 4,8 times more frequent than in Roux-en-Y reconstruction, which, considering the small number of patients compared, represents a significant difference. Conclusion: This study contributes to the existing literature by elucidating the advantages and drawbacks of each reconstruction technique. Surgical skills play a vital role in the selection and execution of reconstruction methods after total gastrectomy.

The use of technology in ESP training has become increasingly prevalent, offering potential benefits such as enhanced engagement, interactivity, and personalized learning experiences. However, despite the growing availability and advancements in tech tools, there is a need to investigate the specific implementation of these tools in ESP training from the learners' perspectives and with more empirical evidence. Hence, this study aims to (1) explore the learners' experiences by using tech tools in ESP training at Ho Chi Minh University of Banking (HUB), and (2) examine students’ attitudes towards these innovations. 40 non-English-majors participated in the study during the second semester of the 2023-2024 academic school year. Final test analysis (ANOVA) and questionnaire survey were exploited for data collection and data analysis. The results showed that tech tools not only were beneficial to enhance students’ performance in ESP training but also enhanced learners’ engagement and confidence towards the learning process. This means that in order to suit varied learning needs and improve various aspects of different skills in English language learning, a wide range of tech tools should be combined rather than using only one kind of technology over the whole course so that we can ensure positive learning outcomes in the ESP educational settings.

Women and girls constitute over half of displaced populations globally, yet their perspectives and needs often go overlooked in policymaking and humanitarian response. This study explores the coping mechanisms utilized by refugee women and girls in post-conflict urban displacement contexts, focusing specifically on Lusaka, Zambia. Adopting a qualitative approach, the research examines the challenges faced, strategies for meeting daily needs, and process of accessing services for refugee women and girls relocated to Zambia's capital. Key findings reveal profound systemic discrimination and barriers obstructing refugees' ability to integrate and meet basic needs. With inadequate access to facilities and widespread harassment, women rely heavily on fragile social networks, exploitative informal work, and inconsistent aid to survive. Despite resilience displayed through faith, help-seeking, and resolute endurance, social isolation, and barriers navigating complex bureaucracies exacerbate risks. Ultimately the study exposes policy and programming failures fulfilling protection obligations, necessitating urgent actions to empower displaced females. Recommendations include improving access to services, fostering social inclusion, enabling livelihoods, strengthening legal protections, and embracing participatory approaches led by refugee women themselves. Fulfilling commitments to this vulnerable group requires comprehensive reforms addressing root causes of marginalization across sectors.

Social media is constantly developing and changing with unique features and apps being introduced on a day-to-day basis. Numerous individuals utilize social media to post about their life online, create connections with others, and create content. Adolescents, ages 11 to 18, are going through a substantial period of development and growth and are easily influenced by the things and people surrounding them. Because of this, adolescents can have both negative and positive experiences and feelings toward social media. It can cause adolescents to frequently compare themselves to the individuals they follow online; however, it can also be used for self-expression. The purpose of this paper is to discover how social media can influence adolescents both negatively and positively. After reviewing six primary articles, the negative effects heavily outweigh the positive; moreover, a future study using a prospective, mixed-method design is proposed to find interventions that can be implemented to make using social media a more positive experience for everybody.

Journalism has undergone major changes as a result of digital culture. Technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and augmented reality are changing the way journalists work, and the speed and timeliness of information delivery is a concern. Digital journalism emphasizes interaction with the audience and speed. Audiences have the opportunity to participate and comment. AI helps journalists verify content, ensure production runs well, and ensure that the audience is engaged. Journalists face issues such as decreased revenue, audience fragmentation, and information credibility. However, digital culture is changing journalism significantly, causing many challenges and opportunities for journalists to stay relevant and maintain public trust.

In this study, CdSe thin films were prepared by the Spray pyrolysis method at different substrate temperatures and then subjected to gamma rays from a (Cs-source) with an energy of about 0.66MeV for two hours. The impact of gamma rays on the energy gap values was examined at the temperatures mentioned above. There was a significant increase in the energy gap value by about (0.1 to 0.15)eV.
