La presencia de las voces gitanas en los medios de comunicación españoles 吉普赛人的声音出现在西班牙媒体上

Este trabajo objetiva debatir como la ausencia de las voces de determinados grupos sociales en el espacio publico pueden perjudicar la efectividad de una democracia social plena, pensando la participacion de las minorias en la esfera publica desde la comunicacion. El trabajo de campo se basa en 20 entrevistas semi-estructuradas realizadas entre 2017 y 2019 en Barcelona (Cataluna) con la poblacion gitana, la minoria etnica con mas presencia en Europa. Abordaremos los productos mediaticos producidos sobre este colectivo, su participacion en los media y los retos que ellos plantean en este area.

Controle e valorização da liberdade de expressão no mundo do trabalho 控制和重视工作中的言论自由

In this article, we present results of research carried out with workers from seven organizations, aiming to identify how freedom of expression is signified and experienced in work environments. In this sense, we use as theoretical contributions the binomial communication and work and ergological studies. The data were collected through questionnaires and showed that the organizations confer parameters for freedom of expression. The right to freedom of expression is recognized and valued, but the limits are embedded in contexts in which workers have little scope to establish them. Concerns about damage to the company and the maintenance of good living together are the main reasons for the need of limits. Possible security risks and damage to the image of both workers and organizations spread as a consequence of a free expression.

Do jornalismo esportivo ao infotretenimento: o caso do contrato entre Neymar Jr. e Globo como paradigma 从体育新闻到信息娱乐:以小内马尔和环球博的合同为例

This paper is based on the theoretical development of a Political Economy of Communication focused on journalism studies to analyze the changes in sports media coverage. The object is the changes in sports journalism of Grupo Globo, from the structural issues of the sector in the conglomerate to the contract with Neymar Junior, in force in 2014 and 2015. Given the need for a non-scientific secondary source on the observable, in addition to the theoretical review, we used the documentary research method to rescue journalistic articles that deal with changes in the communication group and the contract with the football player. Thus, it is told what happened, enabling the analysis from the chosen theoretical framework. The analyzed fact represents the culmination of the transition from traditional journalism to infotainment in sports coverage, motivated by issues related to the restructuring of the capitalist system.

This paper aims to understand the place that children's TV programming occupies in broadcast TV taking into account the role of the schedule in the structure of television contents. Our main argument is that 1) TV Schedules are fundamental elements for understanding the consumption practices of contemporary TV and 2) from the analysis of TV schedules it is possible to understand a series of phenomena related to children's TV programming. Our proposal is to investigate the presence of children’ TV content in the worldwide broadcast television by making a mapping which includes 16 countries and 30 TV channels. The global analysis reveals the strong presence of children's content on TV and the importance of perceiving local television in relation to global ones.

Mercado de afetos no Japão: um estudo sobre Gatebox e o convívio amoroso com personagens 日本情感市场:Gatebox与人物爱情生活的研究

This article aims to reflect on a recent market trend whose products seek to stimulate affective relationships. The analyzed example is Gatebox, which provides consumers with the experience of living with their favorite character. There are new forms of consumption and interaction that emerge from this context, especially in countries where virtual companies are considerably widespread, as it is in Japan. The theoretical basis brings together authors such as Takeyama (2005); Kurotani (2014); Illouz (2011); Giard (2016), Azuma (2009), Barral (2000); and the research of the philosopher Brian Massumi (2015), especially on the scope of philosophy and economics. The research methodology is based on a wide bibliographic review involving Japanese and Western authors, unfolding in a field research in Japan, carried out in the last five years, including visits to laboratories, sex shops and expositions. The result is a preliminary overview of the state of the art of the Gatebox phenomenon and otaku culture in Japan and on first reflections on the transdimensional affective relationships between human beings and characters, as well as the growing impact of these relationships on specific consumer networks in Japan and in Western countries.

Diversitywashing: as marcas e suas (in)coerências expressivas 洗多样性:标记及其表达一致性

In the problem of media discourses and representation of diverse bodies and subjects, the need to deepen the debate on the impacts and limits of advertising initiatives is perceptible. This work seeks, therefore, to focus on the concept of diversitywashing, understanding that many brand strategies camouflage inconsistent practices, especially in relation to the productive routines of advertising and the traces of image and textual stereotypes, which reveal a contradiction of what they discursively expose. Thus, it is proposed here to discuss the contemporary demands on the relationship between media and diversity, conceptualizing the notion of diversitywashing and pointing to six common features of this practice (inadequate representations; attribution of neutrality; contradictory backstage; limited diversity; incoherent behaviors; and past life) in light of theoretical assumptions about self-performatization, management of impressions and expressive coherence.

Bird Box, a horror film and one of Netflix’s greatest hits, has among its protagonists a monster that is not imagetically revealed. Such narrative strategy results in broad audience engagement, which seeks to fill this gap left in the creative process of the film. In this article, we analyze how the construction of the monster idea is also based in non-visual resources, especially sound, and is complemented by an imaginary that explores the theme of apocalypse, the metaphor of blindness and the archetypal opposition between light and darkness. The investigation is based on the image-sound relations proposed by Altman and Iazzetta, and in the theory of the imaginary by Durand. The results show how these elements foster audience engagement, converging on Jenkins’ idea of participatory culture.

Quando a imagem é corpo: modos de sobreviver à máquina colonial 当图像是身体:在殖民机器中生存的方法

Having as a starting point the human remains of an African slave buried in Rio de Janeiro’s harbour and the film “Era o Hotel Cambridge” (Brazil, 2016), about a squat in downtown Sao Paulo, we will discuss how an image configures a body in extreme situations. We aim to observe the intermittent emergence of images and what is considered rest, trail and remains of colonial power structures. From human bones that claim reparation from their slave past, to the skeleton of an abandoned building reinvented as political body by refugees and Brazilian homeless, image is the instance that carries political demands in time. It is the insistence of a marginalized and violated memory that refuses to be erased. As a gesture of creation, persistence and re-existence, image becomes an analytical tool to understand postcolonial contexts and its surviving remains.

We aim to observe the intermittent emergence of images and what is considered rest, trail and remains of colonial power structures. From human bones that claim reparation from their slave past, to the skeleton of an abandoned building reinvented as political body by refugees and Brazilian homeless, image is the instance that carries political demands in time. It is the insistence of a marginalized and violated memory that refuses to be erased. Na superfície lisa da história: a imprensa e as formas clandestinas de informação 在故事的光滑表面:新闻和秘密形式的信息

This paper investigates the strategies used by political prisoners linked to the Colina Group, detained in Linhares Penitentiary in Juiz de Fora, to denounce crimes committed by the military and resist the dictatorial regime in Brazil during the 1960s and 1970s. The historical reconstruction was possible through the archive of official documents that prove what was tried to silence. Thus, the analysis sought to understand the contradictions of these documents that reflect the activities that gave rise to them, since they were produced under exceptional regimes. The research is articulated in two complementary fronts, History and Communication, whose “elective affinities” concern the reflection about the instances of interlocution, the limits and possibilities of the dialogue between two epistemologies.

Consumo, estética, técnica e religião em Cloaca, de Wim Delvoye 维姆·德尔沃耶的《下水道中的消费、美学、技术和宗教》

Cloaca (2000-2010), by Wim Delvoye, consists of a set of machines developed in order to produce “real industrialized shit” in Museums and Art Galleries. After a brief description of the series, we unfold our analysis on three axes: the first one is based on the psychoanalytical articulation between shit and money; the second one on the differentiation genetically formulated by Gilbert Simondon (1989) between aesthetics, technics and religion; the third one on the concept of machine, formulated by Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari (1972). Finally, we compare Cloaca and Anal Kisses (2011), a project by the same artist, in an attempt to identify some cultural vectors that affected the uneven reception of both projects.
