Administrators’ Politics of Delegation of Responsibilities and Academic Staff Job Satisfaction in Universities in Cross River State, Nigeria 尼日利亚克罗斯河州大学行政人员的责任委派政治与学术人员的工作满意度

The study aimed at examining administrators’ politics of delegation of responsibilities and academic staff job satisfaction in universities in Cross River State, Nigeria. Two research questions were raised to achieve the aim of the study, to guide the study, two hypotheses were formulated. The study adopted Correlational research design. The study Population consists of one hundred and forty one (141) heads of Department from two public Universities in Cross River State were selected through census sampling technique. The instrument used for the data collection was questionnaire titled: Administrators’ Politics of Delegation of Responsibilities and Academic Staff job Satisfaction Questionnaire (APDRASSQ) was developed by the researchers and was validated by experts in administration in higher education and measurement and evaluation. Data collected were subjected to statistical analysis using Pearson moment product correlation analysis. The result revealed that administrators’ delegation of responsibilities significantly related with academic staff job satisfaction in universities in Cross River State, Nigeria.

Education No Longer at Ease: The Necessity to Build a New Employable and Productive Society for Nigerian Youths through Quality Education 教育不再轻松:通过优质教育为尼日利亚青年建立一个新的就业和生产社会的必要性

The study sought to ascertain the influence of risk assessment procedures on the financial performance of Anambra State's small and medium-sized companies (SMEs). Two research questions were developed, and one hypothesis was evaluated at a 0.05 level of significance. A correlational design was used in the study. The study's population included 2,895 managers of SMEs in Anambra State. A stratified sampling strategy was used to pick the sample. Thirty percent of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs were picked at random from each stratum, yielding an 868-person sample size. Three experts validated the two questionnaires used to gather data. A pilot test was done on 20 managers of SMEs in Enugu State to examine the dependability of the instruments. The Cronbach Alpha reliability technique was used, and the total reliability coefficient for internal consistency was 0.82, suggesting that the study was reliable. The Cronbach Alpha reliability technique was used to assess the data for each instrument cluster, providing values of 0.78 and 0.85 for clusters 1 and 2, respectively. Pearson's Product Moment Correlation and Multiple Regression were used to analyze the data. According to the findings, risk identification and risk analysis have a beneficial impact on the financial performance of SMEs in Anambra State. Furthermore, a substantial association was discovered between risk assessment techniques and the financial success of the state's SMEs. Based on these findings, several recommendations were made, including the suggestion that top management of SMEs should develop a risk assessment framework tailored to their business size, type, and financial capacity

Effects of Transformation Learning Strategy on Academic Achievement of Junior Secondary Three Students in Basic Science and Technology in Jaba-Kaduna State, Nigeria 转化学习策略对尼日利亚贾巴-卡杜纳州初三学生基础科学与技术学业成绩的影响

Basic Science and Technology students need to be grounded well in the subject to enable them develop interest and become prepared for further studies in all branches of science, applied science and social sciences. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of transformation learning strategy on academic achievement of junior secondary three students in basic science and technology in Jaba-Kaduna state, Nigeria. Quasi-experimental research design was used and. The population for this study was 1,920 (915 males and 1,005 females) junior secondary three (JS3) students offering Basic Science and Technology in all the 22 public junior secondary schools. A total of 136 (69 female and 67 male) junior secondary three students in two public junior secondary schools was used as the sample using purposive sampling technique. Two research questions and two research questions guided the study. The instrument used for data collection was Basic Science and Technology Achievement Test (BSTAT) and scrutinised using two experts; the reliability of the instrument was established using Cronbach Alpha method and found to be 0.891. Findings revealed that the mean scores of experimental group achievement improved more than that of the control group after exposure to treatment d that male students had slightly higher achievement mean scores than female students. Among the recommendations that Basic Science and Technology teachers should adopt the use of transformation learning strategy to enhance students’ achievement in Basic Science and Technology subject and all students offering basic science and technology should be given equal opportunity of encouragement irrespective of their gender in learning the subject.

Technical Skills Required by Heads for Management of Business Education Programme in Tertiary Institutions in Cross River State, Nigeria 尼日利亚克罗斯河州高等院校商业教育项目管理负责人所需的技术技能

This study examined technical skills required by Heads for management of Business Education Programme in Tertiary Institutions in Cross River State, Nigeria. To achieve the purpose of the study, two research questions were raised and two hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. Literature was reviewed based on the variables of the study. The study adopted descriptive survey research design. The population of the study comprises 139 business educators including Heads of Department or Heads of Units in tertiary institutions in Cross River State, who were all involved in the study due to the manageable size of the population. A 16 item questionnaire titled “Technical Skills Required for Management of Business Education Programme Questionnaire” (TSRMBEQ) was used for data collection. The TSRMBEQ was validated by three (3) experts and .73 Cronbach Alpha Reliability Estimate was the overall reliability index for the instrument. 139 copies of the questionnaire were administered and 137 copies were successfully retrieved. The data collected were analysed using mean (X) and Standard Deviation (SD) to answer the research questions. Similarly, the null hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance using independent t-test. The findings from data analysis showed that technical and financial management skills are required by Heads for management of Business Education Programme in tertiary institutions in Cross River State, Nigeria. While the test of hypotheses revealed that there is no significant difference in the mean rating of urban and rural based tertiary institutions’ Heads of Department/Unit on the technical skills required for management of Business Education Programme in Tertiary Institutions. The study also revealed that there is no significant difference in the mean ratings of Business Education Heads of Department/Unit in Colleges of Education and Universities on the financial management skills required for management of Business Education

Effect of Peer Victimization on Social Behavior of Children 同伴伤害对儿童社会行为的影响

This essay identified peer victimization is a major societal problem that can have detrimental effects on kids' mental, emotional, and social development. It explores how peer victimization affects social behaviour and identifies coping mechanisms that can be applied to lessen these impacts. Examined along with the causes of peer victimization are the surrounding circumstances, including the family environment, community violence, and school atmosphere. The report emphasizes how crucial it is to address these issues to stop and lessen peer victimization. This study highlighted effective coping mechanisms to include self-advocacy and assertiveness, social support, mindfulness and relaxation practices, positive confession, problem-solving abilities, and cognitive restructuring. These coping mechanisms have been demonstrated to be successful in lessening the damaging effects of victimization and encouraging resilience in young children. The essay concluded that avoiding and reducing the prevalence of peer victimization requires the creation of a supportive, safe atmosphere that promotes children’s social development, mental health, and wellbeing. To foster strong relationships among students, encourage good parenting techniques, and support children's mental health and wellbeing, schools, families, communities, and society can play a significant role. Effective coping techniques should be incorporated into school curricula to aid students in handling victimization and bullying occurrences and fostering resilience.

The report emphasizes how crucial it is to address these issues to stop and lessen peer victimization. This study highlighted effective coping mechanisms to include self-advocacy and assertiveness, social support, mindfulness and relaxation practices, positive confession, problem-solving abilities, and cognitive restructuring. These coping mechanisms have been demonstrated to be successful in lessening the damaging effects of victimization and encouraging resilience in young children. The essay concluded that avoiding and reducing the prevalence of peer victimization requires the creation of a supportive, safe atmosphere that promotes children’s social development, mental health, and wellbeing. To foster strong relationships among students, encourage good parenting techniques, and support children's mental health and wellbeing, schools, families, communities, and society can play a significant role. This study examines civic education and moral development among students in selected schools in Uyo metropolis. The study was conducted in Akwa Ibom State. Survey design and ex-post facto design was adopted for the study. Two research questions and two research hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. A systematic random sampling was used to select 2,081 populations of 10 percent. A researcher’s developed instrument entitled “Civic Education and Moral Development Questionnaire (CEMDQ)” was used for data collection. Data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation at 0.05 level of significance. Findings of the study revealed significant relationships between patriotism and honesty can help to ameliorate socio-vices in our school environment, it was recommended among others, that parents should inculcate the attitude of patriotism in the minds of their children in order to become a good citizen. Teachers should used appropriate teaching methods while teaching civic education because it has to do with moulding the characters of the learners.

The study investigated teachers’ perception and effectiveness of various behavior modification techniques employed by teachers in treating maladaptive behaviors among pupils in basic schools in Ojo Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) of Lagos State. Mixed research methodologies such as focus group discussions, interviews and questionnaire were used to collect information from respondents. Population included teachers in selected schools in the LGEA. A sample size of 100 respondents was selected. In each of the five selected schools, twenty respondents were selected as samples. The stratified random sampling technique was used to select the respondents from different strata. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to test hypotheses. Results revealed that, there is significant relationship between male and female teachers’ perception in the use of behavior modification techniques in the classroom. This means that respondents have positive reactions to behavior modification and its effectiveness as counseling technique in reducing maladaptive behaviors among pupils in the study area. In addition, empirical analyses from our findings revealed that, commending a covetous pupil made him to start attending lessons, promising a covetous a joke any day he comes to school will encourage him/her to come often. This by implication showed significant negative relationship between material and non-material motivations and behavior modification among primary school pupils in the study area. Based on findings, the study recommends the employment of more counselors in basics schools to provide counseling services and supports to pupils and individuals in the school system that require psycho- emotional assistance

Effect of Risk Assessment Practices on the Financial Performance of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMES) in Anambra State 风险评估实践对阿南布拉州中小企业财务绩效的影响

The study sought to ascertain the influence of risk assessment procedures on the financial performance of Anambra State's small and medium-sized companies (SMEs). Two research questions were developed, and one hypothesis was evaluated at a 0.05 level of significance. A correlational design was used in the study. The study's population included 2,895 managers of SMEs in Anambra State. A stratified sampling strategy was used to pick the sample. Thirty percent of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs were picked at random from each stratum, yielding an 868-person sample size. Three experts validated the two questionnaires used to gather data. A pilot test was done on 20 managers of SMEs in Enugu State to examine the dependability of the instruments. The Cronbach Alpha reliability technique was used, and the total reliability coefficient for internal consistency was 0.82, suggesting that the study was reliable. The Cronbach Alpha reliability technique was used to assess the data for each instrument cluster, providing values of 0.78 and 0.85 for clusters 1 and 2, respectively. Pearson's Product Moment Correlation and Multiple Regression were used to analyze the data. According to the findings, risk identification and risk analysis have a beneficial impact on the financial performance of SMEs in Anambra State. Furthermore, a substantial association was discovered between risk assessment techniques and the financial success of the state's SMEs. Based on these findings, several recommendations were made, including the suggestion that top management of SMEs should develop a risk assessment framework tailored to their business size, type, and financial capacity.

The Relationship between Continuous Assessment Scores and Examination Scores of Students Motivated to Attend Lectures 听课动机学生持续评估成绩与考试成绩的关系

A prominent feature in the pursuance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the learning process in education is the evaluation and assessment of students. As part of the process of evaluating students’ learning outcomes, effective practice of cont inuous assessment is considered capable of influencing other factors that affect the improvement of teaching and learning. We used a strategy of continuous assessment to teach four Basic Science and Technology courses to minimize observed absenteeism to lectures, improve the active participation of students, and enhance learning during lectures. This study aims to find the relationship between the continuous assessment scores and the examination scores of students in the courses using a descriptive/correlational research design. The sample consists of all the students totaling 2,214 who were examined in the courses for three sessions 2010/2011, 2011/2012, and 2012/2013 in the College of Education, Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria. Their examination scores were correlated with the corresponding continuous assessment scores using Pearson’s product-moment correlation procedure for each of the courses in each academic session. All the correlation coefficients obtained are positive and statistically significant at .05% level, indicating a consistent and significant positive relationship between the continuous assessment scores and the examination scores for each of the courses, each academic session, and the overall sample. Based on this result, we encourage the use of continuous assessment in more pragmatic ways to enhance both the cognitive and non- cognitive correlates of students’ performance in courses in tertiary institutions.
