Osredotocanje zgolj na en pokazatelj podnebja pomeni tveganje pri interpretaciji, saj se ta neposredno ne navezuje na ostale naravne pokazatelje v isti regiji ali pa ponuja zgolj omejen casovni okvir preteklega podnebja. Celostni pristop raziskovanja podnebnih pokazateljev eolskih kalkarenitov ponuja casovno neprekinjeno informacijo podatkov, ki s kombinacijo razlicnih metod poveca zanesljivost in kvaliteto znanja o pretekli spremenljivosti podnebja. The paper deals with a theoretical view point of studying Quaternary aeolian calcarenites and its importance for knowledge of the past climate. Understanding palaeoclimate is fundamental for climate modelling and predicting future climatic changes, thus it needs to be complete, of a good quality and reliable on regional and global scales. Focussing only on one palaeoclimatic indicator brings risk with interpreting due to the lack of connective processes of the same region, or it is limited only to one limited time-frame. Družbeni vplivi prireditev so že vec kot dve desetletji pogosta tema raziskovalcev, v zadnjem casu tudi v domaci znanstveni literaturi. V zadnjih letih je v Mestni obcini Koper opaziti velik poudarek na prireditvah, zato v pricujocem delu preucujemo njihov družbeni vpliv. Osnovni cilj prispevka je bil preuciti družbene vplive prireditev v luci zaznav lokalne skupnosti. V maju in juniju 2017 smo izvedli anketo med lokalnimi prebivalci in poglobljene strukturirane intervjuje s predstavniki treh krajevnih skupnosti ter predstavnico obcine. Rezultati so pokazali, da lokalna skupnost podpira razvoj prireditev, da prireditve oživljajo dogajanje v mestu in spodbujajo razvoj turizma, s poudarkom na strateskem razvoju in sodelovanju vseh deležnikov. The social impacts of events have been a frequent topic for researchers for over two decades, recently also in domestic scientific literature. In recent years, the Municipality of Koper has put a greater emphasis on social events, so our goal was to study their social impacts. The aim of this article was to examine the social impacts of events in the light of the perceptions of the local community. In May and June 2017, we conducted a survey among the local residents and an in-depth structured interview with representatives of three local communities and a representative of the Municipality. The results showed that the local community supports the development of events; that the events revive the city atmosphere and enhance the development of tourism with an emphasis on the strategic development and participation of all stakeholders.

The authors tried to investigate the possibility of creating a comprehensive, easily applicable and readable system for transcribing Slovene geographical names into Arabic. They prepared a list of around 200 important geographical names in Slovenia and a map which includes some of those names in Arabic manuscript form. In the first chapter they outlined some basic characteristics of Arabic and Slovene language and some procedures of transformations of non-Roman scripts and inversely. Avtorji so raziskali možnost priprave razumljivega, lahko uporabnega in berljivega sistema transkripcije slovenskih zemljepisnih imen v arabscino. Za ta namen so pripravili preglednico z nekaj vec kot 200 pomembnimi zemljepisnimi imeni in zemljevid, na katerega so vnesli arabske zapise najpomembnejsih med njimi. V uvodnem delu so predstavljene tudi poglavitne znacilnosti arabskega in slovenskega jezika ter postopki prevedbe nelatinicnih pisav v latinicne in obratno.

Prispevek predstavlja rezultate vecletnega preucevanja razsirjenosti in spreminjanja povrsine morskih travnikov in zaplat morskih trav v Semedelskem zalivu. V preteklosti je preucevanje morskih travnikov zahtevalo uporabo zamudnih metod in dalo le okvirne podatke, uporaba sodobnih nacinov zajemanja podatkov in GIS-orodij pa omogoca obsežnejse raziskave in natancnejse podatke. S sonarskim snemanjem in fotografiranjem iz zraka smo pridobili podatke, ki smo jih s pomocjo geografskih informacijskih sistemov analizirali in ugotovili, da se povrsina dna v Semedelskem zalivu pokritega z morskimi travniki povecuje, kar kaže na izboljsanje kakovostnega stanja obalnega morja, zlasti na manjso motnost vode in manjsi dotok hranil s kopnega. Obseg vecjih morskih travnikov se je v obdobju 2009–2015 povecal za 8,6 ha ter danes pokrivajo že 45,6 % dna. Morski travniki so se v najvecji meri povecali s pomikom spodnje meje v globlje dele zaliva in z razrascanjem posameznih zaplat v izlivnem obmocju Badasevice. The paper presents the results of a several-year long research of the range and changes in the extent of marine meadows and patches of seagrass in the Semedela Bay (Slovenia). In the past, such investigation required the use of time-consuming methods and resulted only in raw data, whereas the use of modern methods of collecting data and the GIS tools enable more extensive research and give more accurate data. Sonar mapping and air photography provided information which we analysed by means of Geographic Information Systems. We have established that the extent of the marine meadows in the Semedela Bay has been increasing, which indicates that the quality of the coastal seawater has improved; particularly its cloudiness has decreased and so has the inflow of nutrient matter from the land. The extent of larger marine meadows increased in the 2009–2015 period by 8.6 ha, so that nowadays they cover as much as 45.6 % of the seabed. They mostly have been enlarged by moving the lower border into deeper parts of the Semedela Bay and by growing individual patches in the mouth area of the river Badasevica.

Trajnostno nacrtovanje rekreacije na prostem (na primeru pohodnistva, gorskega kolesarjenja in vožnje s stirikolesniki) uposteva posebne geografske razmere za posamezne vrste rekreacije na prostem, varovalne režime razlicnih zavarovanih obmocij in zakonodajo. Zapisana izhodisca so namenjena oblikovanju priporocil za nacrtovanje razvoja trajnostnih oblik rekreacije na prostem. V prispevku ocenjujemo, predvsem z vidika domacinov in obiskovalcev, katere oblike rekreacije na prostem so v izbranih zavarovanih obmocjih trajnostne. The article presents recommendations for sustainable planning of outdoor recreation in the protected areas with emphasis on social carrying capacity on the examples of Triglav National Park and Zgornja Idrijca Landscape Park. Sustainable planning of outdoor recreation (hiking, mountain biking and quad riding) includes specific geographical conditions that individual forms of recreation require, as well as the safety regimes of different protected areas. The starting points for the design of measures in the process of sustainable planning of outdoor recreation are presented and intended for regular monitoring and directing of outdoor recreation in the protected areas in Slovenia. In the article we assess which forms of outdoor recreation are sustainable, especially from the point of view of locals and visitors.

With supervised classification methods, we can determine classification rules for landscape types of existing landscape typologies. In this article, we analyse whether supervised classification methods could also define adequate rules for landscape types determination in the case of poorly designed typologies. We tried to model two Slovenian intentionally distorted natural landscape typologies. We noted that due to the incongruity of the distorted typologies, decision tree methods were not capable of forming rules for determination of landscape types. Although we did manage to create modelled distorted typologies with minimum distance to means method, maximum likelihood method, and k -nearest neighbours method, they matched the basic distorted typology only slightly. Z metodami nadzorovane klasifikacije lahko za obstojece naravnopokrajinske tipizacije dolocimo klasifikacijska pravila za posamezne pokrajinske tipe. V prispevku razpravljamo, ali bi tudi v primeru zelo slabo zasnovanih tipizacij z metodami nadzorovane klasifikacije lahko izdelali dovolj natancna pravila za dolocanje pokrajinskih tipov. Poskusili smo modelirati dve namenoma popaceni naravnopokrajinski tipizaciji Slovenije. Opazili smo, da zaradi nesmiselnosti popacenih tipizacij metode odlocitvenih dreves sploh niso bile sposobne izdelati pravil za dolocanje pokrajinskih tipov. Z metodami najmanjse razdalje, najvecje verjetnosti in k najbližjih sosedov pa smo sicer uspeli izdelati modelirane popacene tipizacije, a so se te z osnovno popaceno tipizacijo le malo ujemale.

Studija preverja obstoj ucinkov prostorskih prelitij v povezavi z odlocanjem kmetijskih gospodarstev v Sloveniji za ekolosko pridelavo. V njej preverjamo hipotezo, da na prehod v ekolosko pridelavo na nekem obmocju vpliva razsirjenost ekoloskega kmetijstva v sosescini. Hipotezo smo preverili z uporabo prostorske ekonometrije, kjer z regresijskimi metodami preverjamo vpliv prenosa informacij iz sosedstva oziroma ucinkov prostorskih prelitij. Rezultati prostorskega regresijskega modela, v katerega je bilo vkljucenih 1976 ekoloskih kmetij na 28.088 hektarjev kmetijskih zemljisc potrjujejo, da na odlocanje kmetijskih gospodarstev o (pre)usmeritvi v ekolosko pridelavo vplivajo tudi odlocitve pridelovalcev v sosescini in obratno. The study examines the existence of spatial spillovers in the decision-making process of the conversion of agricultural holdings in Slovenia to organic farming. We tested the hypothesis that the transition to organic agriculture at certain location is influenced by the patterns of the implementation of organic farming in the neighborhood. The hypothesis was verified by the use of spatial econometrics, which is a regression-based method that checks for the influence of the transmission of information from the neighborhood, or the existence of spatial spillovers. The results of the spatial regression model, which included 1,976 organic farms on 28,088 hectares of agricultural land, confirm that the decision of agricultural holdings to engage in organic production is influenced by the decisions of the neighboring agricultural holdings, and vice versa.
