Detection and discrimination of alcohol vapours using single-step anodised nanoporous alumina sensors 用单步阳极氧化纳米多孔氧化铝传感器检测和鉴别酒精蒸气

The electrical response of single-step anodised alumina sensors to alcohol vapours containing one to four carbon atoms has been studied. In this investigation, the real and imaginary impedance components have been measured in response to the equilibrium saturation vapour pressure of methanol, ethanol, butanol and two structural isomers of propanol. The response to each type of alcohol produces characteristic impedance spectra that allow discrimination and possible recognition of each alcohol.

A remotely interrogatable passive microactuator using SAW correlation 一种基于声表面波相关的远程可问询无源微执行器

In this paper, a novel remotely interrogatable ultrasonic microactuator is introduced utilising the complex signal processing functionality of an acoustic wave correlator. Fluid pumping can be achieved at ultrasonic frequencies by electrostatically actuating an edge clamped conducting diaphragm placed above the compressor IDT of the correlator. Secure interrogability of the wireless actuator is demonstrated by encoding the SAW correlator with a 5times2-bit Barker sequence and quantitatively deducing the code dependent diaphragm motion using finite element analysis. Moreover, the displacement optimization of the microactuator is addressed by the analyses of the device response for various acoustic mode excitations.

Study of cross- sensitivity of porous alumina based trace moisture sensor in dry gases 多孔氧化铝基微量水分传感器在干燥气体中的交叉灵敏度研究

Present work deals with the development of capacitive porous alumina based trace moisture sensor in the range of 50 to 500 ppm(V) fabricated by low cost sol-gel technique. For its commercial usefulness, the cross-sensitivities due to the presence of organic vapours like ethanol, methanol, acetone and benzene are studied. The effects of ambient temperature have also been studied. Experimental results show that moisture sensor is responsive to the polar organic vapours but has almost negligible response to the nonpolar molecules like benzene. However compared to the moisture sensitivity, the sensor response to the organic vapours is very small.

A CMOS temperature sensor with calibration function using band gap voltage reference 具有带隙电压基准校准功能的CMOS温度传感器

In this paper, an accurate temperature sensor was implemented using 0.18 mum CMOS technology. The temperature sensor which was designed with the bandgap reference circuit is calibrated by trimming common mode voltage of an operational amplifier. The temperature sensor can compensate for other blocks of the IC chip above the special temperature when the ADC was a power off for low power operation. It consumes only 365 muA with a 3 V supply voltage. This temperature sensor can be calibrated up to a maximum 7 degree. And the average error is -0.8degC in sensing range from -30degC to 90degC in comparison with simulation result.

Multi-sensor data fusion in automotive applications 汽车应用中的多传感器数据融合

The application of environment sensor systems in modern - often called ldquointelligentrdquo - cars is regarded as a promising instrument for increasing road traffic safety. Based on a context perception enabled by well-known technologies such as radar, laser or video, these cars are able to detect threats on the road, anticipate emerging dangerous driving situations and take proactive actions for collision avoidance. Besides the combination of sensors towards an automotive multi-sensor system, complex signal processing and sensor data fusion strategies are of remarkable importance for the availability and robustness of the overall system. In this paper, we consider data fusion approaches on near-raw sensor data (low-level) and on pre-processed measuring points (high-level). We model sensor phenomena, road traffic scenarios, data fusion paradigms and signal processing algorithms and investigate the impact of combining sensor data on different levels of abstraction on the performance of the multi-sensor system by means of discrete event simulation.

GPS navigation processing using the IMM-based EKF 基于im EKF的GPS导航处理

This paper presents an interacting multiple model (IMM)-based extended Kalman filter (EKF) approach for the Global Positioning System (GPS) navigation processing. The well-known extended Kalman filter has been widely applied to the GPS navigation processing. The ldquosoft-switchingrdquo IMM estimator obtains its estimate as a weighted sum of the individual estimates from a number of parallel filters matched to different motion modes of the platform. The IMM estimators can substantially improve navigation accuracy during vehicle maneuvering (such as circular motion and acceleration) as well as during constant velocity straight-line motion over the conventional EKF. Simulation results show that the IMM-based EKF outperforms the single model EKF in navigation estimation accuracy.

In this paper, we present two new ldquospatiotemporal multicastrdquo protocols for supporting applications which require spatiotemporal coordination in sensor networks. The spatiotemporal character of mobicast relates to the obligation to deliver a message to all the nodes that will be present at time t in some geographic zone Z, where both the location and shape of the delivery zone are a function of time over some interval (tstart, tend). New protocols, called Neighbor-Based Routing Protocol (NRP) and Spatial Neighbor-Based Routing Protocol (SNRP) exploit ideas adapted from existing protocols were suggested before. In both protocols we have a primary set of solutions to determine the size of forwarding zone. Each node uses the number of its neighbors to select the best solution from the set. In NRP the number of direct neighbors is used, but in SNRP choosing the solution is based on spatial neighbors. Simulation results show that NRP and SNRP are power efficient protocols. Finally comparison with existing mobicast routing protocols illustrates the performance enhancement in message overhead, average of slack time, and power consumption.

Multi-target tracking based on data fusion and distributed detection in sensor networks 传感器网络中基于数据融合和分布式检测的多目标跟踪

We consider a multi-target tracking problem that aims to simultaneously determine the number and state of mobile targets in the field. Conventional paradigms tend to report only the existence and state of targets according to centralized detection and data fusion. On the contrary, we investigate a multi-target, multi-sensor scenario in which (a) both the number and the state of the targets are unknown a priori; and (b) the detection with respect to targets is employed in a distributed manner. Toward this end, we exploit random set theory, a statistical tool based on Bayesian framework, for establishing generalized likelihood and Markov density functions to yield an iterative filtering procedure. We conduct a study regarding how the design of distributed detection has impact on the result of system level information fusion. The formulation of Bayesian filtering suggests that a design of a tracking system be adaptive to change of detection performance.

A novel mechanism of low power consumption for wireless senor networks 一种新的无线传感器网络低功耗机制

The development of the Low-Rate Wireless Sensor Network(LR-WSN)is matures gradually and the characteristics of LR-WSN included low date rate, low power consumption and low volume...etc. For the application of emergency cases, like calamity detection of the mudflows and landslides, according to earthquake sounds and the humidity of the soil, the detection sensors is in very low date rate state in most of the time and need to transmit data frequently. Hence, the algorithms in this paper are proposed for control the data rate and to find a balance between performance and power consumption to achieve the goal of extending battery life.
低速率无线传感器网络(low - rate Wireless Sensor Network, LR-WSN)的发展日趋成熟,具有低数据速率、低功耗、小体积等特点。在泥石流、滑坡灾害检测等紧急情况的应用中,根据地震声和土壤湿度,检测传感器在大部分时间处于极低的数据率状态,需要频繁地传输数据。因此,本文提出了控制数据速率的算法,并在性能和功耗之间找到平衡,以达到延长电池寿命的目的。

Improving the resolution of Non-Invasive Time Domain Reflectometry 提高非侵入式时域反射仪的分辨率

Non invasive time domain reflectometry (TDR) may be used to estimate the volumetric moisture content, thetasv, with depth for a variety of sample materials. The forward physical model is couched in terms of a moments method where integration is performed over a discretised sample space to estimate the measured propagation time, tp down a pair of parallel transmission lines. We show that inverse solution to this, which recovers relative permittivity and thus thetasv, is greatly facilitated by a simplification of the system geometry via, 1) realistically modeling the prior density of the sample, 2) using this prior with the inherent system symmetry to reduce the number of required discretisation cells, and 3) determining a physically meaningful reduction operator to allow a coarse discretisation mesh to be used. The observational equation is expressed in the Bayesian paradigm with the most accurate and robust solution obtained using the conditional mean of the posterior distribution constructed via a Monte Carlo method. Results of simulation show that the method is capable of providing accurate estimates of the moisture density profile down to a depth of 100 mm with an error < 4%. Further, the reduction in the number of discretised cells required to accurately estimate these profiles means that the inversion procedure is quick enough to enable the real time application of the equipment, a fundamental requirement in the development.
