We designed a subwavelength grating for polarization-independent two-port beam splitter. The design is based on the simplified modal method. Holographic recording technology and inductively coupled plasma etching can be used to manufacture the grating.

Observation method for contact state of solid surface such as a metal object is proposed. The technique based on the total internal reflection is achieved with the deformation layer between the prism and the test surface.

A simple atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition method was employed to deposit TiNxOy film on glass substrate. The obtained film combined the solar control performance and self-cleaning properties, which was suitable for multi-functional coating glass.

Self-pulsing of ~2 μm Tm3+-doped fiber lasers is theoretical investigated by solving rate equations. The impact of the output coupling, pump strength and particle density on self-pulsing operation is studied, and probable mechanisms are proposed.
