Nonlinear absorption of InN epitaxial films probed by femtosecond pulsed transmission Z-scan measurements 用飞秒脉冲透射z扫描测量InN外延膜的非线性吸收

Nonlinear optical absorption of InN epitaxial films in the range of 720-790 nm were investigated by Z-scan measurements. The optical absorption cross-sections of the InN films were estimated, and the values are found in good agreement with band-filling model.

Focused ion beam etched ring-resonator in CVD-grown Ge-Sb-S thin films 聚焦离子束蚀刻环形谐振腔在cvd生长的Ge-Sb-S薄膜中

Focused ion beam technique has been applied to fabricate ring resonators in Ge-Sb-S thin films for optoelectronic applications. The CVD-grown Ge-Sb-S thin films have been characterizatezed by micro-Raman, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray analysis and UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopy and the properties of the resonator are being assessed.

Experimental manipulation of atoms and photons: Applications in quantum communication, computation and simulation 原子和光子的实验操作:在量子通信、计算和模拟中的应用

Quantum information science and atom optics are among the most active fields in modern physics. In recent years, many theoretical efforts have been made to combine these two fields. Recent experimental progresses have shown the in-principle possibility to perform scalable quantum information processing (QIP) with linear optics and atomic ensembles. One of our main activities is to use atomic qubits as quantum memory and exploit photonic qubits for information transfer and processing to achieve efficient linear optics QIP. On the one hand, utilizing the interaction between laser pulses and ultra-cold atomic ensembles we experimentally investigate the potentials of atomic ensembles in the gas phase to build quantum repeaters for long-distance quantum communication, that is, to develop a new technological solution for quantum repeaters making use of the effective qubit-type entanglement of two cold atomic ensembles by a projective measurement of individual photons by spontaneous Raman processes. On the other hand, building on our long experience in research on multi-photon entanglement, we are also working on a number of experiments in the field of QIP with particular emphasis on fault-tolerant quantum computation, photon-loss-tolerant quantum computation and cluster-state based quantum simulation. In future, by combining the techniques developed in the above quantum memory and multi-photon interference experiments, we will experimentally investigate the possibility to achieve quantum teleportation between photonic and atomic qubits, quantum teleportation between remote atomic qubits and efficient entanglement generation via classical feed-forward. The techniques that are being developed will lay the basis for future large-scale realizations of linear optical QIP with atoms and photons.

Coherent extreme-ultraviolet (XUV) radiation was studied by interaction of Carrier-Envelope (CE) phase stabilized high energy sub-5-fs infrared (800 nm) laser pulses with neon gas at a repetition rate of 1 kHz. The results show generation of isolated attosecond XUV pulses.

Transmission characteristics of a two-dimensional grating for flexible solar cells 柔性太阳能电池二维光栅的透射特性

A two-dimensional grating for the flexible solar cells is proposed. The transmission characteristics of the microstructure were investigated with rigorous coupled-wave analysis and the results indicate that almost 100% optical absorption could be achieved with the optimized gratings.

Crystal growth and optical properties of Yb:YTaO4 Yb:YTaO4的晶体生长和光学性质

Single crystal of M phase Yb:YTaO4 was grown by the Czochralski method. Large emission cross-section (1.05×10−20cm2), wide FWHM of absorption and emission, and long lifetime (0.74ms), indicate that Yb:YTaO4 is very promising laser crystal used in all solid state ultra-short laser.
