EM Algorithm for Normal Mixture Likelihoods 正态混合似然的EM算法

The purpose of the study is to use the expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm for finding the maximum likelihood estimates (MLEs) under the normal mixture models in which allow heterogeneity in forms of the multi-nodes, skewed, long-tailed, and/or contaminated distributions. The motivational application of the standardized morbidity ratio (SMR) of geographical HIV/AIDS data displaying on a map among all study provinces in Thailand 2013 is illustrated. The results showed that the normal mixture model fitted data well with the nice MLEs corresponding to the EM algorithm coping with good yielding both numerically stable convergence and the fine estimates of local maximum points. Another advantage of EM algorithm was in adding up the latent unobserved probabilities of each study province belonging to the component of normal mixture in solving the problem of the incomplete data while other algorithms, such as Newton-Raphson and Fisher Scoring, couldn't be able to augment those unobserved missing data. However, EM algorithm seemed to have slow convergence.

Bi-Directional Antenna Using a Probe-Fed Waveguide Aperture with Stacked-Coupling Apertures 利用探针馈电波导孔径叠加耦合的双向天线

This paper presents a bi-directional beam antenna implemented by using a probe-fed open waveguide with stacked-coupling apertures. This proposed antenna is able to rectify the asymmetrically bi-directional beam to be a symmetry through the application of four-coupling aperture. The antenna geometry is composed of a radiating rectangular ring vertically jointed to the four coupling apertures of an identical widthwise d.e., two apertures stacked on top and others two underneath) to achieve the symmetrical beam. The radiating rectangular ring is excited by a linearly probe. In the analysis, the appropriate antenna parameters are investigated by using the electromagnetic microwave simulator. It is found that this antenna propagates the WLAN frequency band of 2.4-2.5 GHz with the magnitude of Snlower than −10 dB. The simulated half-power beamwidths in both E-and H-planes are equal to 53°, 54° and 55° at 2.4 GHz, 2.45 GHz and 2.5 GHz, respectively. The maximum gain of 6.42 dBi is obtained over the frequency range. The simulated results will be reported and discussed in the paper.

Human Height Measurement by Square Template 人类高度测量方形模板

Human height is significant information for human gait recognition. In this paper, we proposed a new method to measure the human height by using square template. This method consists of four step: image acquisition, template matching, background subtraction and human height measurement. First, human gait is captured. Square template is fixed on floor. Second, template matching is used to detect square template position. Third, background subtraction is used to extract human. Finally, based on human position relating the square template, a size of pixel is used to compute a human height. To test the performance of the proposed method, accuracy rate of height measurement is measured. 405 picture of 27 volunteers were used in the experiment. The average accuracy is 96.32% at 5th position. This technique can be applied to use for human gait recognition.

Body Implantable Patch Antenna for Biotelemetry System 用于生物遥测系统的可植入贴片天线

In this study, a biocompatible in-body antenna for biotelemetry system is focused to design. The compact size, flexibility and low radiation make this antenna suitable for implanting inside human body. The main challenge is to make this antenna operate at MICS band (402 MHz-405MHz), which is safest frequency band to implant any antenna inside human body according to FCC (Federal Communications Commission). Copper is used to create the both patch and ground panel. To create the substrate panel flexible material FR-4 is selected. Silicon is chosen to wrap the antenna before implant inside the human body phantom model, due to biocompatibility. CST Microwave studio is used to design the antenna and human phantom model, where all the electrical properties and other important properties are maintained to create human body phantom model. At the end, SAR, VSWR and other important parameters are calculated to ensure this antenna is reliable for body implantable for biotelemetry system.

Spatial Mapping of Influenza Infection by Bayesian Approach 基于贝叶斯方法的流感感染空间映射

Implementation and vaccination of the national policy have to need the obvious evidence based on reliable data. Geographical mapping plays an essential role to answer for these policies. However, difference of age structure effects on each area unequally. The Standardized Infection Ratio (SIR) is a risk measurement which can be able to control some confounders of interest such as age and gender among areas. A Bayesian approach is a popular mean for creating a map because of its ability in getting information from observed data and from a prior knowledge. Data on influenza infection of 506-national surveillance over the whole country, classified by age structure and by provinces, collected by Bureau of Epidemiology, Ministry of Public Health, are adopted because of occurring an epidemic of flu in Thailand 2016. Results demonstrated that there were 2.6 persons per thousand people with influenza infection in 2016. After applying the SIR of influenza infection with the national standard reference of the past four years 2012–2015 overall the country to each province, the SIR for each province broadened around the mean of 2.07 (variance = 3.93) and this outcome reported approximately increasing two times of SIR in year 2016, compared with the national reference in 2012–2015. Lastly, Bayesian estimation found that the five highest risk provinces were Bangkok (9.6117), Chiang Mai (8.0949), Phayao (7.1871), Uttaradit (6.6086) and Phitsanulok (6.2168), respectively.

The Evaluation of Short Circuit Current to Achieve Optimal Design and Protection for Elements in Power Network with Renewable Energy 实现可再生能源电网元件优化设计与保护的短路电流评估

From the past decade, the renewable energy resource is continually increasing in the distribution power networks to provide the green power energy, which is the realized objective in power energy using of the consumer in the present time. In addition of renewable energy resource in the distribution network, which is as though addition of power source in network, will be caused to increase short circuit level in network. To be certain that elements in the distribution power network can be absorbed the energy (short circuit current) due to short circuit and system protection can be properly operated, there must be recalculation and reanalysis of power system by regrading of the power supply ability of that power sources connected in network. Therefore, the evaluation and analysis of short circuit current in the distribution power network that contains with renewable energy resource (Solar Energy) is proposed in this paper. The recommended practice for short circuit current calculation according to IEC60909 standard is applied in evaluation and analysis, and then the recommended practice for protection and coordination according to IEEE242 standard is applied in design protection relay setting and coordination. All of procedures in evaluation, analysis and design are done on ETAP by simulation of short circuit situation in the model of distribution power network, which it can illustrate the guideline to achieve the optimal design of elements and maintain the proper operation of system protection by using protection relays in the distribution power network with renewable energy escalation.

In order to maximize the output energy of a solar photovoltaic, the surface of a solar panel is required to be perpendicular to the direction of the solar ray. Therefore, a solar tracker is widely used for maximizing the output energy of solar photovoltaic. However, a solar tracker is expensive and not suitable for some locations. Another solution to maximize the output energy of a solar photovoltaic is setting the optimal tilt angles. The advantage of this solution is no additional cost of device but the obtained energy is less than the solution using solar tracker. This work is a systematic approach to find out the optimal tilt angles for Khon Kaen University $pmb{(text{Latitude} =16.472^{circ}text{N}}$ and Lo $mathbf{ngitude}=pmb{102.826^{circ}text{E}}$). Calculation and experimental methods are used to find out the monthly, seasonally and yearly optimal tilt angles. For the calculation method, optimal tilt angles were mathematically determined by finding maximum daily solar radiation received by changing tilt angles from 0° to 60° of a 5° per step of change. For the experimental method, optimal tilt angles were determined by setting a 5-W monocrystalline solar photovoltaic for five various tilt angles consisting of 0°, 16°, 30°, $pmb{45^{circ}}$ and $pmb{60^{circ}}$. The experiment was conducted from March to May. From the results, monthly optimal tilt angles from experiment and calculation methods are nearly the same.

This paper presents a novel technique to design a programmable open-loop DC gain and bandwidth single-ended output CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) opamp (operational amplifier) using a serial digital interface. The circuit topology allows for the programming of the differential input stage tail current. With this variable tail current, a controllable open-loop DC gain and frequency response is created that can be controlled from a host digital processor. The op-amp circuit has a rail-to-rail output where the first stage of the op-amp consists of differential input and folded-cascode circuits that are compensated using a negative Miller capacitor, and the second stage is a class-AB amplifier compensated by a conventional Miller capacitor. The op-amp has been designed using a $0.35 mu mathrm{m}$ CMOS technology, its operation simulated using the Cadence Spectre simulator and operates on a single-rail +3.3V power supply.

Short-Term Wind Speed Forecasting of Lelystad Wind Farm by Using ANN Algorithms 基于人工神经网络的leelystad风电场短期风速预测

The installation of wind energy based electricity systems is growing at a very fast pace all over the world because of the increased urge of using renewable energy resources and environmental concerns regarding electricity generation. Forecasting wind speed is found to be critical for wind energy systems since it greatly influences its large-scale integration. The intermittent nature of wind speed leads to further problems in its large-scale integration in the power systems. Wind speed forecasting is essential to operate wind energy based power systems in an efficient and secure way. In this paper, different ANN algorithms have been applied to forecast short-term wind speed of Lelystad Wind Farm, Nederland using MATLAB R1 $pmb{4}mathbf{a}$. The data used in the forecasting are hourly historical data of the wind direction & wind speed. The simulation results have shown accurate one hour ahead forecasts with small error in wind speed forecasting.

The Effect of Gamma Irradiation on Threshold Voltage and Channel Mobility Degradation of NMOS γ辐照对NMOS阈值电压和通道迁移率退化的影响

This paper presents the effect of Gamma Irradiated on threshold voltage, surface mobility and transconductance on N-channel MOSFET devices at a gate oxide thickness of 15 nanometers, which is fabricated at Thai Microelectronics Center by 0.8-micron CMOS technology. Then gamma irradiation (Co-60) at a total dose varied from 1 to 10 $mathbf{kGy}$. By performing five rounds to observe changes in threshold voltage when the devices were exposed to gamma rays for measurement to extraction threshold Voltage (VTH) into the surface mobility $(Uo)$ from IDSVs VGs curves in the saturation region. As a result, the threshold Voltage reduces at highest dose by approximately 38% compared with conventional N-channel MOSFET, for a parameter extraction in the level 3 model for MOSFET SPICE parameters is presented.
