Comparison of the Dissipation Factor of Insulating Resins With and Without Anhydride Curing Agents 添加和不添加酸酐固化剂的绝缘树脂耗散系数的比较

The most main wall insulations of rotating electrical high voltage machines consists of several layers of wound mica tape impregnated with epoxy resins. Methylhexahydrophthalic anhydride and Hexahydrophthalic anhydride are the state-of-the-art curing agents in epoxy insulations and are therefore essential components of the insulation system. Both anhydrides were proposed to the candidate list of Substances of Very High Concern and are therefore part of the European REACH authorization process. The prohibition or restricted use of both anhydrides in Europe in the future is possible and puts high pressure on the European manufacturers of electrical devices. Possible substitutes are available, but have to be qualified e.g. with respect to their dielectric properties. Hence, this paper compares several insulating resin systems with and without anhydride curing agents regarding their dielectric loss behavior. The results reveal that the curing agent has a measurable effect on the dielectric losses. Furthermore, the investigated anhydride-free insulation systems are a viable substitute at least with regard to their dielectric losses.

Dielectric Properties of a Semicrystalline Supramolecular Polymer 半结晶超分子聚合物的介电特性

Supramolecular polymers (SPs) are assemblies of monomers that bind to another through non-covalent interactions. The reversible nature of these interactions permits one to temporarily disassemble SPs “on command” by applying an appropriate stimulus, which is advantageous for processing and recycling and allows creating stimuli-responsive materials. Here we report on the dielectric properties of an SP network assembled from monomers based on polypropylene oxide (PPO) cores, functionalized with UPy groups. In this work, we measured the DC breakdown strength, dielectric relaxation and electrical conductivity and show that the dielectric properties are similar to those of silicones or silicon-based adhesives. However, the material is reprocessable, thus has a potential for medium voltage applications, within the context of a circular economy.

Impact of WBG Converter Voltage Rise-Time and Switching Frequency on the PDIV of Twisted Pairs WBG变换器电压上升时间和开关频率对双绞线PDIV的影响

The effect of wide bandgap converter on the partial discharge inception voltage (PDIV) of enameled magnet wires was investigated. Tests were carried out using an optical detection system, changing the rise time and the switching frequency. The experiments showed that neither the rise time nor the switching frequency influence the PDIV. Physically, this finding supports the idea that the permittivity does not change in the frequency range of the impulse voltage spectrum. However, the overshoot can affect PDIV measurements as neither the peak voltage nor the dc bus voltage provides an accurate evaluation of the PDIV.

Research on Defect Detection of Insulation Piercing Connector (IPC) Based on UHF Partial Discharge 基于超高频局部放电的绝缘穿孔式连接器缺陷检测研究

Insulation piercing connector (IPC) is widely used as a link fitting for the insulated conductor in distribution network. However, there are most accidents in recent years due to installation, operation, etc. In this paper, the structure of the IPC is analyzed. The IPCs with the typical defect were prepared, including the insufficient contact force, the loose connection, the grease loss, the dampness, and the overload operation and the experimental platform based on UHF partial discharge was built. Obtained results show that the standard installed IPC has the obvious partial discharge, whose amplitude can reach 110 mV and discharge mainly concentrates on the alpha and the gamma quadrant. The defects obviously increase the PD amplitude and have a great influence on the PD characteristic, including the discharge quadrant, times and PRPS. In actual operation, this detection method could be adopted to diagnose the IPC with defect to prevent failure and improve power supply reliability.

Permittivity Increase of TiO2/Silicone Elastomer Composite by External Electric Field Induced Filler Orientation 外加电场诱导填料取向提高TiO2/有机硅弹性体复合材料介电常数

Power generation output of dielectric elastomer generator depends on the relative permittivity of the elastomer sheet. High permittivity filler such as TiO2 filler increases the permittivity of the elastomer sheet. In this paper, we investigated the rodlike filler orientation of TiO2/silicone elastomer composite by the external electric field for further increasing the permittivity. The permittivity of TiO2/silicone elastomer composite was increased by the external AC electric field, while the tensile stress of TiO2/silicone elastomer composite did not changed by the field. The orientation of rodlike filler was investigated by analyzing SEM images of TiO2/silicone elastomer composite. The effect of the external electric field to the filler orientation of TiO2/silicone elastomer composite was discussed.

Detection and de-noising of PD signal contaminated with stochastic pulse interference using maximal overlap discrete wavelet transform 基于最大重叠离散小波变换的随机脉冲干扰PD信号检测与降噪

Detecting partial discharge signals (PD) emanated due to defects and faults in cable insulation is crucial to cable condition diagnosis. However, PD detection proves challenging as the detected signal comes with superimposed noises with various spectrums. One of these common noises that are often present on site is stochastic pulse interference (SPI). This type of noise is random in nature, yet it displays a similar shape to the partial discharge generated pulse and, hence, it becomes difficult to remove (de-noise), while maintaining the original signal intact. In this paper SPI noise is mathematically modeled and is combined with the PD signal for signal processing. The maximal overlap wavelet transform (MODWT) is then used to de-noise the signal using various parameters. Over a wide range of noise magnitude, the parameters that offer best de-noising are subsequently identified. Comparing the MODWT technique with the empirical Bayesian WT (EBWT) proves it to be superior.

Simultaneous Improvement of Surface Properties of the Liquid Silicone Rubber by Direct Fluorination 直接氟化法同时改善液态硅橡胶表面性能

In this report, liquid silicone rubber (LSR) was fluorinated and studied. ATR-IR and XPS results clearly indicate the presence of Si-F bonds as well as C-F bonds in the fluorinated layer. The fluorination of the LSR is not a simple substitution of fluorine atoms for hydrogen atoms of methyl groups or for methyl groups, and during the fluorination besides fluorine atoms there are other reactive species, such as methyl derivatives and their fluorides, which would be also attached to Si or graft to methyl groups via hydrogen replacement. The experimental results show that the fluorinated surface is highly hydrophobic and partially conductive. The flashover tests using a sheet sample/finger electrode arrangement found a more than 60% increase in DC flashover voltage of the LSR material by the fluorination. The simultaneous improvement of surface properties is meaningful for outdoor insulation applications of the material.

Improvements in space charge measurements by thermal methods can be acquired via the thorough knowledge of the temperature distribution at the surface and across the samples. The present work addresses surface temperature measurements for the Thermal Step Method (TSM) with a flat, thin thermo-resistive sensing structure. A structure containing a sensitive part made of a 150 nm platinum film, sputtered on a $400 mu m$ silicon wafer and covered by a 100 nm $Si_{3}N_{4}$ layer, has been manufactured and studied. Through data obtained by modelling and experimentally, it is shown that thermal temporal resolutions in the $mu s$ range can be obtained with the proposed device. The analysis is extended toward sensors made directly on polymeric substrates. Such setups will help to better estimate space charge distributions in relatively thick samples.

Comparison of the Effect of Thermal Aging on Dielectric Properties of Vegetable Oils and Impregnated Kraft Paper 热老化对植物油和浸渍牛皮纸介电性能影响的比较

In this paper, dielectric properties (BDV and permittivity) of two vegetable oils (Palm Fatty Acid Ester and FR3) used in power transformers are studied. Also, partial discharge inception voltage (PDIV) of Kraft paper impregnated with these oils is measured. All the tests were carried out at room temperature and the samples were prepared following the same procedure. Both the impregnated paper and the vegetable oils were aged at 140°C for 11 days to study the evolution of the dielectric properties with the thermal aging. PDIV has been also measured for different number of paper sheets (from 4 to 6), analyzing the dependence of PDIV on the thickness of solid insulation. Dielectric characterization of the oils showed that they are suitable to use in power transformers. BDV of the oils decreased with the aging and PFAE performance was better. Dielectric constant of both oils is almost the same. PDIV results showed that both oils are suitable for the impregnation of Kraft paper in terms of dielectric properties. PDIV of FR3 insulating system was higher than PFAE system in all the studied cases. FR3 insulating systems showed a decrease of PDIV value after the aging process, whereas PFAE one remained almost constant.

Surface damage of polymer dielectric under repetitive frequency bipolar square-wave voltage 重复频率双极方波电压下聚合物介质的表面损伤

The interface is the starting point for insulation damage, especially at high frequency bipolar voltages. The electric field distortion and energy release during charge injection and extraction at the dielectric/electrode interface significantly change the molecular structure, affecting the dielectric properties, and leading the surface layer a weak point of insulation. In this paper, the damage of polymer dielectric under uniform electric field of repetitive frequency bipolar square-wave voltage was studied. The polyethylene was chosen as the sample since it degrades more easily under the electric field. By comparing the test results of the polyethylene samples before and after the electrical aging process, it was found that the density of the shallow charge traps increased, and the dc breakdown strength decreased significantly while the ac (50 Hz) breakdown voltage was almost unchanged. It proved that the damage of polymer dielectric under the repetitive frequency bipolar square-wave voltage starts at the surface of the dielectric. In addition, it means that dc breakdown strength can be a key feature to characterize the degree of dielectric damage after serving under repetitive frequency bipolar square-wave voltage. The conclusion has also been proved by the electrical aging experiments of epoxy resin and polyimide. This study lay a preliminary foundation for further systematic research on the dielectric damage mechanism under repetitive frequency bipolar square-wave voltage.
