Nonlinear Dynamics and Control in an Automotive Brake System 汽车制动系统的非线性动力学与控制

Brake squeal is a manifestation of friction-induced self-excited instability in disc brake systems. This study investigated non-smooth bifurcations and chaotic dynamics in disc brake systems and elucidated a chaotic control system. Decreasing squeal noise which is dependent on chaos, increases passengers comfort; consequently, suppressing chaos is crucial. First, synchronization was used to estimate the largest Lyapunov exponent to identify periodic and chaotic motions. Next, complex nonlinear behaviors were thoroughly observed for a range of parameter values in the bifurcation diagram. Rich dynamics of the disc brake system were studied using a bifurcation diagram, phase portraits, a Poincare map, frequency spectra, and Lyapunov exponents. Finally, the proposed technique was applied to a chaotic disc brake system through the addition of an external input that is a dither signal. Simulation results demonstrated the feasibility of the proposed approach.

Improvement of the Heat and Sound Insulation of a Bus for Compliance with American Regulations 改进客车的隔热和隔音性能以符合美国法规

In this study, heat, noise and vibrations of 3-axle bus which was produced according to the American regulations were determined. Insulation designs were made according to heat levels, intensity of noise and vibration and frequency. Comfort conditions inside the bus and the American regulations outside the bus were provided. Heat sources of the bus were detected. Insulations which are able to prevent the heat generated by those sources to reach passenger cabin and other badly affected areas. Maps of noise and vibration of bus is determined, according to the intensity, wavelength and frequency of the noise, using these data more insulation designs were made to reach more comfortable and quieter bus.

Simulations of Aerodynamic Behaviour of a Super Utility Vehicle Using Computational Fluid Dynamics 基于计算流体动力学的超级多功能车气动特性模拟

The main objective of this study is to investigate ways to reduce the aerodynamic drag coefficient and to increase the stability of full-size road vehicles using three dimensional Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations. The baseline model of the vehicle used in the simulation is the Land Rover Discovery. There are many modern aerodynamic add-on devices which are investigated in this research. All of these devices are used individually or in combination. These add-on devices should not affect the vehicle capacity and comfort. In this study three velocities of the air is used: 28 m/s (100.8 km/hr), 34 m/s (122.4 km/hr) and 40 m/s (144 km/hr). The calculated drag coefficient for the baseline model of Land Rover Discovery agrees very well with the experimental data. It is clear that the use of a ventilation duct has a significant effect in reducing the aerodynamic drag coefficient.

Mark Based Auto Parking System and Surround View System with a Surveillance Camera 基于标记的自动泊车系统和带有监控摄像头的环视系统

A lot of parking lots are using surveillance cameras to prevent various crimes such as theft and damage of cars. In this paper, Color mark based accurate vehicle position and attitude detection method and parking space determination method are suggested. And also, Entire Auto Parking Assist system is realized using a down scaled model of a car. In addition, Surround view system is suggested as a new application of a surveillance camera.

Application of Semi Reverse Inovative Design Method to make IndonesianEndemic Animal Education Miniature 应用半逆向创新设计方法制作印尼特色动物教育微缩模型

Reverse Inovative Design developed by Xiuzi Ye aimed to innovations product based on CAD/CAM/CAE quickly, efficiently, and electively. This paper will implement Semi RID on Indonesian endemic animal toys design process (javan Rhinoceros). This paper will change Reverse Inovative Design to Semi Reverse Inovative Design because limitation of Production Process Laboratorium Yogyakarta Atma Jaya University CAE infrastructure. Reverse Engineering on this paper start with scanning product with Handy SCAN 700, then redesign process with PowerShape 2015 (transforming mesh file black African rhinoceros into javan rhinocesors surfaces then transforming surface into solid feature), and use ArtCAM 2013 to make skin texture. Revise Engineering process ended with make prototype with 3D printer Objet 30Pro. Creative method used to obtain 3d model toy educational rhinoceros which is want by Kolektor Mainan Solo (KMS). Semi RID method has success make a design and prototype of Javan Rhinocesros with specification easy to assembly (20 part), dimension 135mm x 42mm x 62mm, and save for child ( 8-10 years old). This is indicate that the RID concept based on CAD/CAM have been able to developt by TI-UAJY. The result of verification indicate very enthusiastic with the idea that be implemented by writer about using Semi RID to make prototype Indonesian endemic animal education toys.

HEV Optimal Battery State of Charge Prediction: A Time Series Inspired Approach 混合动力汽车电池最佳充电状态预测:一种时间序列启发的方法

Fuel efficiency in hybrid electric vehicles requires a fine balance between combustion engine usage and battery energy, using a carefully designed control algorithm. Owing to the transient nature of HEV dynamics, driving conditions prediction, have unavoidably become a vital part of HEV energy management. The use of vehicle onboard telematics for driving conditions prediction have been widely researched and documented in literature, with most of these studies identifying high equipment cost and lack of route information (for routes unfamiliar to the GPS) as factors currently impeding the commercialization of predictive HEV control using telematics. In view of this challenge, this study inspires a look-ahead HEV energy management approach, which uses time series predictors (neural networks or Markov chains), to forecast future battery state of charge, for a given horizon, along the optimal front (optimal battery state of charge trajectory). The primary contribution of this paper is a detailed theoretical appraisal and comparison of the neural network and Markov chain time series predictors over different driving scenarios (FTP72, SC03, ARTEMIS U130 and WLTC 3 driving cycles). Based on the analysis performed in this study, the following useful inferences are drawn: 1. Prediction accuracy decreases massively and disproportionately on average with increased prediction horizon for multi-input neural networks, 2. In a single-input/single-horizon prediction network, the performance of both the neural network and Markov chain predictors are similar and near optimal, with a mean absolute percentage error of less than 0.7% and a root mean square error of less than 0.6 for all driving cycles analysed, 3. Markov chains appeal as a promising time series predictor for online vehicular applications, as it impacts the relative advantage of high precision and moderate computation time.

Aplication of Technology 4-Axis CNC Milling for Manufacturing Artistic Ring 四轴数控铣削工艺在艺术环制造中的应用

This paper describes the efforts of writers to make use of technological artistic CAD-CAM in the manufacture of the products of artistic rings small medium industry. Methods used in this paper is Substractive Prototyping namely manufacture of product master ring wax with the utilization of 4-axis CNC milling technology. Investment casting is used in this paper to form the silver ring with relief. Investment casting process is conducted in a department of Large Hall of Culture and Batik Yogyakarta. Product attributes and the selection of the artistic design of the ring will be made the object of research derived from the brainstorming process is conducted in conjunction with the creative team. The final results of this paper suggest that the method of investment casting and prototyping substractive capable of producing 6 product artistic ring (Helmet Trail Ring,Iron Man Ring,Dart Vader Ring, Sansekerta Ring, Engineer Ring,and Harley Skull Ring) made from wax and silver. Quality product made from wax ring master recognized with greater precision, detail, cheap and accelerating stages of Investment casting compared to master products made from vero white.

Methods used in this paper is Substractive Prototyping namely manufacture of product master ring wax with the utilization of 4-axis CNC milling technology. Investment casting is used in this paper to form the silver ring with relief. Investment casting process is conducted in a department of Large Hall of Culture and Batik Yogyakarta. Product attributes and the selection of the artistic design of the ring will be made the object of research derived from the brainstorming process is conducted in conjunction with the creative team. The final results of this paper suggest that the method of investment casting and prototyping substractive capable of producing 6 product artistic ring (Helmet Trail Ring,Iron Man Ring,Dart Vader Ring, Sansekerta Ring, Engineer Ring,and Harley Skull Ring) made from wax and silver. In this work the tribofilm development mechanisms in three severity levels on the field application were correlated with those simulated in a pin-on-disc tribometer. It was found that the tribofilm characteristics depend on the severity of application. In addition, the pin-on-disc tribometer can reproduce the same mechanisms that were identified on the field, due to the parity between the tribosystem characteristics of test model and field condition.

Performances, Emissions and Soot Properties from a Diesel-Biodiesel-Ethanol Blend Fuelled Engine 柴油-生物柴油-乙醇混合燃料发动机的性能、排放和烟灰特性

The aim of this study is to provide experimental results for assessing diesel-biodiesel-ethanol (DBE) blended fuels as future technology for efficiently using these three fuels and for reducing engine emissions. The results included engine performance, brake specific emissions and soot properties for diesel-biodiesel blended with 0%, 5%, 10% and 20% ethanol tested at steady speed of 1800 rev/min under different engine loads. It was found that DBE blends can reduce NOx, CO2, volatile organic fractions and particulate mass-number concentration with improved thermal and combustion efficiency while slightly decreased the particle size.

Aqueous Electrophoretic Deposition of ZrB2-SiC Nano-composites in Pulsed DC Electric Fields 脉冲直流电场中ZrB2-SiC纳米复合材料的水电泳沉积

ZrB2-SiC ultra-high temperature ceramic composites have been considered to be the optimal candidate for using in extreme environments. The present communication for the first time applied aqueous electrophoretic deposition for successfully preparing ZrB2-SiC nano-composites in pulsed DC electric fields. The deposition behavior was investigated based on the influences of applied voltage, duty cycle and frequency. A smooth, uniform and pore-free ZrB2-SiC nano-composite was successfully synthesized. The highest green density of 67.1% was achieved for the nano-composite with the SiC content of 26.7 wt.%. We believe that the present research will open up a new horizon in preparing bulk ceramic composites or composite working parts in industries.
