Speech Act Theory (SAT) mainly focuses on the phenomena of actions performed via speaking and is an indispensable research technique in both pragmatic analysis and literary appreciation. Conflict talk is a common linguistic phenomenon in interpersonal conversations, which takes consecutive and ambiguous language turns as specific form. Although scholars have made some progress in conflict talk and its analysis by using SAT, their research results only focuses on the conflict talk itself which may overlook some countermeasures. Therefore, in order to get a more comprehensive and in-depth result, this paper will proceed from SAT perspective and combine with pragmatic analysis to finish the research of the conflict talks in the film of Elizabeth.

In this paper, we introduce the method for proving Lagrange's mean value theorem and Taylor's theorem using Rolle's theorem, and the application of these two theorems in estimating the value of integrals, determining the concavity and convexity of functions, and solving the limits of functions.

As we know, language is a cultural carrier. Different social backgrounds and national cultures have a great effect on the cultural connotations of idiom. Along with the development and progress of human society, animal words gradually have got their established connotations in all languages. However, the connotations of animal words in one language do not necessarily coincide with those in another because of geographical environment, convention, history, and religion in different cultures. Therefore, this paper intends to take the Chinese Zodiac as a research object from a cross-cultural perspective to explore the differences in animal culture between China and the West. By comparing factors such as social customs, religious beliefs, and natural environment, explore several methods of translating animal idiom so as to promote smooth cross-cultural communication and provide references for related research.

With the continuous development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, remote monitoring and management of smart electrical equipment have become more important and convenient. This paper explores the methods of remote monitoring and management of smart electrical equipment based on IoT technology, analyzing its advantages in improving equipment operation efficiency, reducing operation and maintenance costs, and enhancing safety. The research is validated and illustrated through examples and data. Practical applications in an automobile manufacturing plant demonstrate the significant effects of remote monitoring and management technology for smart electrical equipment. In implementation, sensors are installed on the equipment to collect real-time operational status and energy consumption data, which are transmitted to remote servers via the internet for analysis and processing. This enables real-time monitoring, remote diagnosis, and remote control of the equipment. The case study shows that remote monitoring and management significantly reduce equipment failure rates, improve production efficiency, and lower maintenance costs while enhancing safety. These results provide theoretical support and practical guidance for the remote monitoring and management of smart electrical equipment, showcasing the immense potential and prospects of IoT technology in industrial applications.

During the late Ming to early Qing dynasties, the great demand for Chinese export porcelain laid the foundation for the development of export paintings. From the 18th to the 19th century, a unique form of cultural hybridity emerged in the coastal area of Canton: export paintings. This paper attempts to explore the interaction, conflict, and fusion with foreign cultures within the frameworks of Homi Bhabha's "third space" theory and Mary Louise Pratt's concept of the "contact zone." It examines how this cross-cultural art form manifests hybridity in materials, painting techniques, and themes.From the perspective of aesthetic education, these paintings provide profound insights into the cultivation of aesthetic sensibilities and cross-cultural appreciation. Predominantly produced by Chinese painters and workshops, with a few contributions from visiting European painters, these artworks cover a broad range of subjects, including Chinese social life, flora and fauna, and folk customs. By examining the aesthetic value and educational potential of these works through the lens of aesthetic education, we can better understand their significance in cross-cultural art exchange. This cross-cultural art form not only holds aesthetic importance but also provides a new perspective for studying Sino-Western cultural interactions, enriching the discourse on art education and cultural exchange.

This paper conducts a corpus-based critical discourse analysis over the characteristics of Chinese and Western English media reports on Harbin, aiming to quantitatively and qualitatively study the discourse construction of Harbin’s city image. The results show that firstly, Harbin is mainly presented as “the city of ice and snow” in both media. Secondly, while domestic media focus more on shaping Harbin’s city image around tourism with the purpose of driving economic development, the focus of foreign media is more diverse and comprehensive. Thirdly, limitations exist in both media and need to be reduced.
