Pretreatment of rat spleen lymphocytes with 0.5 mM A23187 had no influence on the prostaglandins E2 and F2 alpha content, but was followed by the increasing of both 15-HETE and leukotriene B4 levels. Lypoxygenase activity of lymphocytes towards exogenous substrate linoleic acid was increased within 3-12 h after 1 Gy irradiation and decreased below the control level at 24 h. The changes of lypoxygenase activity correlate with that of 15-HETE content. Additional incubation of the cells, obtained at 3 h after irradiation, was followed by the intensification of the chromatin internucleosomal fragmentation and low-molecular DNA fragments accumulation. When 20 mM nordihydroguaiaretic acid, a selective inhibitor of arachidonate lipooxidation, was added to the incubation medium, DNA fragmentation was observed to be significantly less, especially at the early steps of incubation. These results suggest, that metabolites like H(P)ETE are early endogenous mediators of radiation-induced spleen lymphocytes apoptosis.

We have examined in vivo the capacities of two C27-steroid hormones--phytoecdysteroid ecdysterone (20-hydroxyecdysone, 10(-8)M) and calcitriol (1 alpha, 25-dihydroxyvitamin D3, 10(-12)M), as a modulators of phosphatidylcholine hydrolysis in the brain and heart cells of rats. Sever lines of evidence indicate that both hormones may acts as positive regulators of membrane phosphatidylcholine hydrolysis by phospholipases A2, C and D in early (0.5-30 min) membrane phase of its actions, yielding known lipid second messengers (diacylglycerol, phosphatidic acid) and soluble products, that may acts as second messengers (choline, choline phosphate, glycerophosphocholine).

The activity of Na+,K+ATPase, gamma-glutamyltranspeptidase, ceruloplasmin, total antioxidative activity of water-soluble antioxidants, the contents of vitamins C and E, free amino-nitrogen and peroxide resistance of erythrocytes were determined at the blood's plasma of healthy persons (120 persons) and suffered from aged cataract (437 persons) of three aged groups (up to 40 years, 40-60 years and elder then 60 years). We have shown, that changes, which has been connected with cataractogenesis and age dependent changes are not equal. The lowering of activity of Na+,K(+)-ATPase, gamma-glutamyltranspeptidase and level of vitamin E was expressed less during the ageing, then during the development of lenses opacification. The increase of activity of oxidase during the cataractogenesis is less significant, then age depended inhibition of this enzyme. The opposite tendency (the lowering of activity at the patients with cataract is more expressed, then compensatory activations of these parameters at the persons of the corresponding age with transparent lenses) was revealed for total antioxidative activity of water-soluble antioxidants.

A membrane hyaluronate-binding protein from cerebral cortex of human embryonic brain (22-24 weeks) was purified by affinity, ion exchange chromatographies and gel-filtration. While gel-filtration analysis the protein had Mm 250 kDa. Electrophoresis under reduction conditions in the presence of DS-Na revealed a major band with Mm 85 kDa and two minor binds with Mm 68 and 36 kDa. The isolated protein did not react with antibodies against known hyaluronate-binding and other proteins with similar mass. The results show that a new membrane hyaluronate-binding protein was isolated and purified from human embryonic brain.

There were discovered the anti-aggregative properties of some psychotropic drugs as gidazepam, phenazepam and its derivatives 3-oxyphenazepam, esters of 3-oxyphenazepam, with IC50 values of 8.19-11 x 10(-4) M. On their anti-aggregative effects they exceed of the acetylsalicylic acid (IC50 = 21.3 x 10(-4) M). Only gidazepam, containing in its chemical structure hydrazide fragment, caused significant decrease in the content of MDA. The possibility of involvement of lipid peroxidation in mechanism of its anti-aggregative effect is discussed.

Effect of a hypoxia and hyperthermia on endogenous biosynthesis of prostaglandins E2 and F2 alpha by tissues of lungs was studied. The effect of high temperature (43 degrees C-45 degrees C during I hour) and tissue hypoxemia by, exposition in an atmosphere with carbon monoxide, stimulated rise of formation of derivative of prostaglandins in the right and left lung: PGF2 alpha in 1.2-2.6, and PG E2-in 1.48-2.7 times accordingly. The parity between prostaglandins after experiment remained same, as well as in control group. The increase of a level of biosynthesis of investigated prostaglandins had more expressed character in a right lung, than in left. The reasons, leading to such significant growth of amounts of prostaglandins can be a few. One of them--it, apparently, growth of an amount of substrates for a phospholipase A2 and cyclooxygenase, as to for want of given temperature of a body is sharply increased a state of fluidity of membranes, leading to violation stability of membrane of phospholipids and further their destruction. Second--possible increase of activity of enzymes, leading to derivation of eicosanoids-cyclooxygenase and (or) of the phospholipase A2, leading to mobilization of an arachidonic acid from phospholipids of membranes. In a tissue of lungs after the hyperthermia and hypoxemia the decrease of amount of c-AMP on a background of c-GMP amount growth in the right and in the left lung was observed. For want of than, described above legitimacy was saved, in which the amount c-AMP in a right lung prevails over left. During realization of experiment interesting legitimacy-process, leading to growth the contents PG E2 was detected, also conducted to decrease of an amount c-AMP. The reduction of an amount c-AMP is possible, apparently, to explain the cell destruction, as heating in these parameters stimulates the cell apoptosis development, which conducts to reduction of an amount c-AMP inside a cell.

There have been displayed the most essential achievements of Palladin's school in two basic trends: 1) Estimation of the nerve tissue chemical topography--determination of the chemical components localization and content in morphologically and functionally different branches and microstructural formations of the central and peripheral nerve systems; 2) Initiating and inventing in the field of the functional neurochemistry--identification of the links between the content and intensity of the biochemical transformations of the intracellular chemical components and functional activity of the nerve tissue various structures, as well as these structures physiological functions molecular mechanisms. There are some data about O.V. UV-sensitivity of membrane-bound acetylcholinesterases in the presence of agents, which selectively modify lipid phase and integral proteins of erythrocytic membranes (benzene alcohol and concanavalin A), has been studied. It has been determined, that UV-irradiation of human erythrocytic membranes within the range of wavelengths 240-390 and 300-400 nm leads to differently directed changes of enzymatic activity, which are caused by different number of membranous chromophores of UV-light and by their different nature. The scheme of process, causing the photomodification of membranous acetylcholinesterases, has been suggested. It takes into consideration a contribution of several structural components of membranes in these processes. Authors have made the conclusion about the important role of microenvironment in processes of acetylcholinesterases functioning and about the possibility of purposeful regulation of its UV-sensitivity by introduction of exogenous agents, which modify structural state of closest "neighbours" of enzyme.

It was shown, that the temperature dependences of the distribution coefficients Q of the non-electrolytes solutions between erythrocytes and medium in the range of T = +4(-)+37 degrees C could not be describe by Arrhenius equation.
