This contribution deals with a number of strategies deployed by lay Catholic circles against what they considered to be the emergence of Marxism in the Church in Argentina in the 1960s. In particular, the practices deployed by the "Crusade" group that later became "Tradition, Family and Property" (TFP) are analyzed. To this end, various kinds of materials are studied such as books, periodicals, pamphlets and flyers. Through these means, the hardliners sought to influence both the Catholic hierarchy and the general public opinion, through an increasing equal comparison of the terms "third-world", "communists" and "terrorists". That operation, in a scenario marked by an increasing social unrest, political confrontation and massive citizen participation, contributed to the polarization of positions, while reinforcing the link between religion and politics, -or the handling of one by the other-.

Some of the journals in the Regeneration were defined as strong opponents of the regime and for this reason they were censured, suspended and fined. This article analyzes the existing ideology in the opposition press from 1890 to 1900 and it studies the content and form of four of the most recognized newspapers for their criticism of the government or the mainstream parties. It also notes the proposals indirectly suggested in their pages.

The aim of this paper is to show how, at the height of the Cold War, the British intelligence services responded to the new spy system created by the Comintern developing a secret campaign of political and cultural propaganda, under the cover of prestigious foundations to channel intellectuals in defense of a liberal democracy. This spy system expected to carry out propaganda secret operations and manipulate the intellectuals from almost the very beginning of the Soviet Revolution. The keystone to win the battle of consciences was the Congress for Cultural Freedom and its editorials, magazines, exhibitions, scholarships, concerts, congresses and conferences. Finally, it will be noted how the Congress for Cultural Freedom implemented the political conception of "non-communist left" to sustain the social democracy in the Western bloc.

This article discusses women's leadership roles in the revivalist and Pentecostal movements, for which the metaphors built by Chilean Pentecostals on the role of female pastors are analyzed. We focus primarily on the mortuary stories, published in the Revista Fuego de Pentecostes between 1972-2001, in which representations of the prominent female pastors appear in five concepts: a pastor's wife, preachers, copastors, mothers and social workers.

El presente articulo da cuenta de las relaciones entre indigenas y comunidades negras en la zona del Norte del Cauca (san Rafael y Monte Teta) y del Norte del Choco (Unguia), enfocandose en las situaciones de conflicto por el territorio; ello con el objetivo de demostrar que los grupos etnicos no son homogeneos ni presentan un estado de inercia en el tiempo. Tambien se pretende demostrar que los conflictos territoriales son comunes y no solo se limitan a las confrontaciones entre los grupos insurgentes y la poblacion, sino que, por el contrario, las mismas comunidades sostienen litigios por este. Ahora bien, en el contexto actual en el que la Ley de Restitucion de Tierras es una de las politicas mas importantes, este tipo de analisis resulta pertinente pues si bien esta (la ley) es fundamental para las victimas, puede intensificar o generar conflictos entre grupos poblacionales por el territorio.
