The action of UV-C radiation for the decontamination of pathogens is a very actual subject to be studied, as a result of the recent pandemic (Covid-19), in finding new effective methods of inactivating pathogens (viruses, bacteria, etc.) with their application in diagnostics. The effects of UV radiation with a 254 nm wavelength on the DNA elements of yeast fungi are observed and analysed in this communication. Quick information about the dose of radiation applied and the level of inactivation of pathogens is necessary, and spectroscopy methods can be of great help in this regard.

Worldwide, schools were closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19 but have reopened in many countries. In this cross-sectional study, 208 teachers were recruited upon schools’ reopening in Israel. We examined the relations between resilience and social support, perceived stress, emotional distress, and post-traumatic growth among teachers. In addition, we assessed the role of perceived stress in mediating between resilience and social support and emotional distress and post-traumatic growth.

Artificial intelligence (AI) includes a broad range of computational models, such as natural language processing (NLP) [1], and has a variety of current and future applications in the healthcare setting [2,3]. In November 2022, the AI language model ChatGPT was publicly released (chat.openai.com) and quickly demonstrated proficiency on a diverse set of tasks, including United States Medical Licensing Examination questions [4]. ChatGPT was pre-trained on a large volume of text data and designed to process and analyze human language, thus ChatGPT is classified as an NLP and large language model.

The study was conducted to evaluate the effects of graded levels of Oregano leaf powder on growth performance of broiler chickens in Sokoto, Northwestern Nigeria. Using Completely Randomised Design (CRD), a total of 300 day old broiler chicks were randomly allocated to four treatment groups consisting of 75 birds in each group. Each treatment was then sub-divided into 5 replicates consisting of 15 birds per replicate. T1, (15g Oregano), T2 (20g Oregano) T3 (25g Oregano) and T4 (0g Oregano) served as the control. The experiment lasted for 49 days.

Pancreatic cancers may pose a formidable challenge to treating physicians with their relatively poorer prognoses despite multimodality management. Evaluation of resectability is critical for pancreatic cancers since the outcome is typically better for patients undergoing surgical resection as part of management. However, some tumors are classified as borderline resectable. Particularly for this group, utilization of neoadjuvant systemic therapy may have a role in multimodality management.

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is responsive for the most recent worldwide pandemic since December 2019. The present study aimed to determine the characteristics of neutralizing antibody cross-reactions of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-causing variant viruses compared with those of non-variant viruses. Seven virus clades (S, L, V, GR, G, GH, and GV) were isolated and confirmed in the sera of 19 patients diagnosed with COVID-19.

Addiction to drugs is a prevalent illness marked by relapses. The standard treatments offered are insufficient to control and effectively manage addiction. Vaccination against specific substances to limit their influence on the brain and its reward system offers hope for treating addiction and relapse.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) were discovered in the 1970s with their unique properties of differentiation, immunomodulation, multiple secreting, and homing factors to injured organs. MSC-based therapies have emerged as a promising strategy for various diseases such as cancer, tissue regeneration, or immunologic/ inflammatory-related diseases. This study evaluated the clinical application of MSCs for cancer therapy in trials registered on ClinicalTrial.gov as of July 2022.
