The SARSCoV2 (coronavirus illness 2019) outbreak, originating in China’s Hubei Province, quickly spread globally and was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization on March 12, 2020. This research focuses on the progression of the COVID-19 pandemic in India, analyzing the measures implemented to combat the virus and evaluating India’s response in terms of containing the pandemic and mitigating its social and economic impact.

Laparoscopy is an invaluable investigative tool in evaluating infertile women. Its role is particularly important when tubo-peritoneal factors are suspected in the aetiology of female factor infertility. The objective of this study is to describe the patterns and frequency of pelvic pathology seen during laparoscopic evaluation of infertile women in Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), Nigeria over a 5-year period. It was a retrospective cross-sectional study.

Conducting pediatric research presents unique methodological challenges that necessitate the establishment of a separate pediatric research methodology. This paper argues for the widespread recognition and implementation of a specialized research methodology, one that is best suited to optimize the effectiveness of pediatric clinical decisions, tailored to address challenges specific to pediatric research and therefore, optimizes outcomes for pediatric patients.

Calcium is the fifth most abundant element in the adult human body. The free ionized calcium (Ca2+) is responsible for a variety of physiological processes and tightly maintained mainly by action of calciotropic hormones and other nutrients. Calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR/CaR) is a cell-surface receptor that responds to, or “senses,” extracellular Ca2+ concentrations in parathyroid, kidney and other tissues. The aim of the review is to get into the fine details of physiologic mechanisms responsible for extracellular calcium-sensing receptor actions in the regulation of vascular tone and blood pressure.

Surgery is an indivisible, indispensable part of healthcare progress towards Universal Health Coverage. The burden of untreated surgical conditions weighs more heavily on people living in low- and middleincome countries such as Haiti. Neurosurgery efforts in low- and middle-income countries would benefit from integration into ongoing global surgical programs, through partnerships with professional societies, universities, and non-governmental organizations, greatly helping to avoid duplication and complementing each stakeholder’s surgical system strengthening efforts. In Haiti, there are only 5 neurosurgeons for 12 million people. Therefore, there is a strong demand for neurosurgery in Haiti and there is no direct neurosurgery. We need concrete actions on the lack of access to quality surgical care that includes both the delay in seeking care, delay in waiting for care, delay in receiving care, and investment in the training of new specialists to prevent annual deaths and disabilities.

The opening of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mPTP) is thought to be one of the processes leading to cell death during ischemia, while the regulation of opening of the mPTP during development and aging remain obscure. In this study, we compared the effects of in vitro 90 min hypoxia on mPTP sensitivity to Ca2+ mitochondrial respiration, and infarct zone size in 7 day old, 2-3, 8-10 and 24-26 months old rat brains with a particular focus on mitochondrial respiratory chain complex I.

This manuscript previews the introduction of significant advances in the materials which are used in the conservative management of pulp in the primary and permanent teeth. These materials posses the property of inducing tertiary dentin formation and the protection of the dentin-pulp complex. Calcium Hydroxide, Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA), Biodentine are widely used and are discussed along with some of the recently introduced materials. The primary aim of this article is to outline the emerging concepts and their associated advantages.

Agrocenoses are the artificial ecosystems created by man. They occupy about 10% of the land area, but have no physical boundaries, so the processes occurring inside them affect the biological diversity of adjacent territories, which are considered natural. Animals employ both cultivated fields and nearby areas. In addition, there is a water exchange between these parts and the natural territories and reservoirs adjacent to them. The current changes in the structure of agrocenoses in the southern regions of Russia increase the share of intensive processing fields in which agrochemical preparations are introduced. It means the increase in the proportion of fields in which rodenticide treatment is carried out and the plowing inconveniences contributes to the ingress of agrochemicals into reservoirs.
