High reynolds number tools and techniques for civil aircraft design - an overview of the HiReTT programme 民用飞机设计的高雷诺数工具和技术——HiReTT计划综述

The collaborative research project HiReTT, coordinated by Airbus UK, is focused on understanding the effects of scale on aircraft drag. The project was launched in January 2000 as part of the European Fifth Framework Programme. In this paper an overview of the HiReTT project objectives and work plan is given to together with progress achieved in the first year of the project. The improvement in analysis tools and test techniques delivered by this programme will enable an accurate prediction of aircraft performance to be made with the aircraft design process that can be validated ahead of first flight.

The use of smart actuators, in a modular braking system architecture, offers the possibility of simplifying central braking control and of developing versatile standard components applicable to braking systems in different families of aircraft. The SAMBA (Smart Actuator and Modular Braking Application) project has investigated these possibilities together with techniques for control of brake torque instead of brake pressure.

Flight safety, aircraft vortex wake and airport operation capacity 飞行安全、飞机涡流尾流和机场运营能力

One of the major problems that challenge today's aeronautics is the problem of improving flight safety. A zone of increased hazard is the aerospace in the vicinity of an airport. Here, one of aircraft accidents' causes is wake turbulence generated by aircraft. The encountering of an aircraft on take-off or landing with the vortex wake of a preceding aircraft can lead to an accident especially dangerous near the ground.

The ‘MOB’ project: towards methods to support e-design across Europe “MOB”项目:寻求支持整个欧洲电子设计的方法

The development of the MDO approach presented in this paper is based on extensive programmes of research undertaken in the aerospace sector. Some of this work has resulted from in-house development of systems to support the creation of actual production aircraft of which references (1) and (2) are typical examples. Other studies have focused on the development of methods to support the application of MDO using a variety of optimisation approaches mainly in the conceptual or early preliminary design phases (2–6) and in the opportunities provided by large scale computing (7). The most detailed application for a realistic aircraft component was undertaken in an earlier EU funded research programme (BE95-2056) reported in references (8,9) with potential developments of this work explored in (10). However, the concept of creating a system able to fully cover the total design process and to include the concept that the teams involved are distributed has not been previously considered and is the focus for the MOB project.
