To meet the requirements for different practical applications,we investigate the properties of single LaF3 layer deposited by resistive heating Mo-boat( RH) and ion beam sputtering( IBS) in this paper. First,transmittance and reflectance spectra of LaF3 thin films were measured by an UV-visible spectrophotometer,and the refractive indexes and extinction coefficients were obtained by using different models. Second,stresstemperature curves of LaF3 thin films during heating and cooling cycles were carried out by a stress measurement system. Finally,the X-ray diffraction( XRD) was used to characterize the microstructure of LaF3 layers.Experimental results indicate that LaF3 thin film fabricated by thermal evaporation( RH LaF3) had an inhomo-geneous refractive index; the refractive index and extinction coefficient at 193 nm are 1. 687 and 5 × 10- 4for RH LaF3,and 1. 714 and 9 ×10- 4for IBS LaF3,respectively. RH LaF3 and IBS LaF3 exhibited inverse stress status. RH LaF3 had a tensile stress and IBS LaF3 showed a compressive stress,which decreased after annealing. The transmittances are 99. 4% and 99. 2% for RH deposited MgF2/LaF3 AR coating and IBS deposited AlF3/LaF3 AR coating,and the corresponding measured reflectances are 0. 04% and 0. 1%,respectively.

In this work,a new TiO2nanowire array based interferometric sensor had been developed. At first, TiO2nanowire array films were prepared on the surface of conductive FTO glass through hydrothermal synthesis method. Then,a new type of interferometric film sensor based on wavelength modulation was constructed by utilizing the compound structure FTO glass with TiO2nanowire array thin film as the sensing chip and making use of the typical Kretschmann prism coupling structure. Finally,the response performance of the interfero-metric sensor to ambient refractive index was displayed by employing sodium chloride aqueous solution as the measured liquid media. The results show that the sensor has a preferable response to refractive index over the range of 1. 333 5 ~ 1. 360 4. In the case of TM mode,there is a good linear relationship between reflectometric light intensity and NaCl concentration in the range of 0% to 3% and 3% to 15% quality percentage,respectively. For TE mode,within the range of 0 to 3% NaCl concentration,it shows a negative linear relationship between NaCl concentration and the absorption intensity while the resonant wavelength is basically unchanged; within the range of 3 to 15% NaCl concentration,with the increase of NaCl concentration,the resonant wavelength is gradually red shifted and it exhibits a positive linear relationship between NaCl concentration and resonant wavelength.

Ternary Zn2GeO4nanowires were prepared by VLS law and the Chemical Vapor Deposition(CVD) method on 1 cm × 1 cm silicon wafer sputtered by metal Au catalyst.Zn2GeO4structure was obtained under the condition that the mass ratio of zinc source and germanium source was 8∶ 1wt% as the X-ray diffraction(XRD) shown.The Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM) result showed that the diameter of the nanowires was 100 nm and the length was approximately 10-11 μm.The photoluminescence(PL) spectra showed two emission peaks at 432 nm and 480 nm,respectively.Finally,the growth mechanism of the Zn2GeO4nanowires was analyzed.

We carried out a series of basic research for a kind of Si based novel luminescent materials,Er-Yb / Y silicate compounds.We study the structure,optical and electrical properties of these high erbium compound materials including Er silicate,Er-Yb silicate and Er-Y silicate.Through the optimization of Er-Yb-Y composition and structure of Er-Yb / Y silicate compound material,2 orders of magnitude enhancement of photoluminescence is obtained.We prepare optical waveguide amplifier based on Er-Yb / Y silicate thin films,and observe more than 5 dB / cm light amplification.We develop a metal-insulator-semiconductor structure of electroluminescent devices,and obtain Er-Yb / Y silicate compounds electroluminescence,and theoretically prove the possibility that this material can be electrically pumped laser.
