The results of experimental studies and theoretical basis for wetting solutions surfactants coal particles of small size fractions. On the basis of a physical model on experimental experience shows wetting of the coal particles, resulting from pulverized coal lumps pulverized state to substantially change the structural and surface properties of the coal, which leads to a substantial change in the mechanical, physical and chemical properties of coal.

Based on the software complex Ansys CFX, a three-dimensional computer model of complex heat transfer in a continuous casting and pressing of non-ferrous metals has been developed. The features of constructing a computational grid and solving the system of differential energy equations for the processed metal and the elements of the installation are considered. The dynamics of the process of casting and pressing of aluminum alloy on an experimental laboratory installation is studied. Calculated temperatures of the metal and elements of the prototype of the installation are determined. An experimental estimation of reliability of modeling results is carried out and adequacy of the developed computer model is shown.

The main purpose of this paper is to find a solution for saving energy in the cell room. Another purpose of the paper is to find materials suitable for stable side and bottom ledge formation, research the properties of such materials, and study their behavior in cryolite-alumina melts, including selection of the most suitable material. Moreover, the paper is concerned with energy consumption reduction by forming stable side and bottom ledges. Furthermore, as mentioned earlier, several materials have been selected to form stable side and bottom ledges during the post-start-up period. The most widespread method in gold production is cyanide leaching of ore concentrates. Most of gold ore deposits in the Russian Federation are located in the Far North and Far East with their climate zone characterized by a positive water balance. In this regard, there arises a need to solve the problem of wastewater treatment. The process of cyanide removal is well known and proven in an industrial scale. The presence of nonferrous metal sulfides and iron in ore concentrates leads to an increased consumption of cyanides caused by thiocyanate production. As a result, gold mining companies have to solve the problem of neutralization of discharged water both in terms of cyanide and thiocyanates. The problem is currently particularly burning at Russia’s operations as requirements for cyanide and thiocyanate contents in treated effluents are virtually commensurate. This present paper summarizes the results of research in the field of treatment of wastewater containing, along with cyanides, a significant amount of thiocyanates. Our studies have shown high efficiency of the process of wastewater oxidation by ozone. It has been shown that the ozone oxidation process runs at high rate and is accompanied by cyanide regeneration. This saves more than fifty percent on the cost of ozone production, the latter being a major economic limiting factor for the application of this technology. The ozonation technology ensures the absence of secondary contamination by reagents and treated effluent intermediates. The developed method provides the compliance with the legislation requirements on the content of cyanides and thiocyanates in wastewater. Lower cost of the process resulted from the lack of reagents, and hence, cost of their purchase and delivery to gold mining operations, and a potential for cyanide regeneration make a proposed method very attractive. The Lazar Continuous Carbon Baking Furnace (CCBF) presents a groundbreaking new process for the baking of carbon anodes. A static thermal profile provides a consistent heat-up rate across distinct temperature zones, eliminating thermal cycling. Complete PAH destruction, combined with the lack of thermal cycling, eliminates refractory maintenance requirements and allows for tighter tolerances in pollution-control systems, leading to a significant decrease in operating costs. Costs to build a Lazar CCBF are estimated to be 35 to 45% less than conventional ring-type furnaces, with operating costs estimated to be approximately 60% less. 800x600 In order to reduce losses of metal with tails cycle of collective flotation of copper-molybdenum ore deposits was performed a preliminary assessment of the effectiveness of enrichment tailings using gravity and flotation methods. The results showed the prospect of using both methods, but in the case of gravity separation is possible to extract valuable component without the addition of flotation reagents, which is beneficial to the process of selection of the bulk concentrate, as well as on the environment.
