In contemporary times, it is a priority for designers to base themselves on sustainable actions and design strategies aimed at reducing the environmental impact of the product production chain. Therefore, the objective of this study was to present the design and production process of experimental stool using MDF, assembled and stabilized using fittings. From a literature review, the design guidelines were delimited. Subsequently, a mood board was incorporated into the design process, followed by a stage of generating virtual alternatives with the aid of mockups on paper and the planning of furniture planning on the MDF. Prototype production was essential to analyze the formal and aesthetic design of the product, as well as to adjust and validate the fitting-based assembly system. From the results obtained, it was observed that the prototype met the sustainable guidelines defined in the project and has the potential for production in 4.0 manufacturing platforms.

This paper presents the partial results of the master's research developed at the UFPE's PPGDesign, whose objective was to map the productive chain of territory jewelry from Pará with Amazonian seeds, aiming to contribute to the strengthening and sustainability of the local jewelry sector. The method was adapted from the Handicraft Productive Chain Analysis Model proposed by O Imaginário Design Laboratory/UFPE.

This article aimed to create a visual data panel (dashboard), as an instrument for analyzing policies/programs to promote the rights of people with disabilities in Pernambuco municipalities. The ArcGIS Platform Dashboard tool was used to build the data panel. In order to carry out the research, data from the "Pesquisa de Informação Básicas Municipais -MUNIC", carried out in 2019 by the IBGE, was obtained and properly processed, in which it made available data regarding the existence of policies/programs to promote the rights of PCD in all municipalities in the country. Brazil, ArcGIS Pro was used for manipulation, in a Geographic Information System environment, and analysis of the data of the 33 items related to accessibility in the municipalities of Pernambuco portrayed in the research. These items provided subsidies for the calculation of the municipal performance indicator and several graphs, which are presented in the data panel created, clearly portraying the level of performance of the municipalities in relation to the subject studied. It was concluded that the ArcGIS Platform Dashboard tool proved to be an excellent alternative for creating a visual data panel and this, in turn, contributed to a better understanding of accessibility in the municipalities of Pernambuco, and can be used as an instrument to induce inclusive public policies.

The discussion about environmental transformations and the consequences of unbridled consumption have generated changes in purchasing behavior, fostering the emergence of a new category of consumers, the green consumers, who seek to reduce consumption, cause low environmental impact and reduce the consequences on nature. In response to this demand, the market for ecological, green, sustainable, ecologically oriented and/or eco-efficient products has shown an increasing variety and competitiveness on a large scale.

Although wood has advantages for technological and sustainable buildings, there is still much fear about this material because many people question its durability. This is not a recent discussion. But it is necessary to increase the dissemination of this theme to understand and respond to popular needs regarding wood in Brazilian construction. This research aimed to investigate and point out preventive measures to preserve wood in building construction. Initially, a bibliographic survey was carried out on wood’s needs and behaviors according to its biological characteristics. Positive and negative construction practices that affect the durability and performance of wood were investigated on designers and builders’ recommendations. And, finally, digital materials were developed about wood’ specificities and tips for wood in construction, using graphic illustration software. With these results, this research intends to contribute to demystify and propagate the adequate use of wood in Brazilian construction.

There is a need for more ecologically friendly projects and the application of materials with lower environmental impact in this regard, being then a technically feasible candidate, the self-compacting soil-cement incorporated with chemical additive and synthetic fibers (SCAAF). Thus, a study was conducted to predict the dosage of mixtures composed of soil, cement, polypropylene microfibers, superplasticizer additive and water, which can be applied without the need for mechanical densification to form monolithic earth pieces. The results showed that SCAAF mixtures with 1:5 ratio (cement:soil, by mass); the superplasticizer content between 0.8% and 1.2%; the water/soil factor between 31.00% and 34.75% and the addition of fibers between 0.06% and 0.10% is a viable.

Food waste is a problem that requires immediate overcoming, and, in this sense, Design can collaborate by proposing solutions that replace current predatory narratives with others, structured in the balance between the dimensions of sustainability. That said, this article presents the results of a Case Study carried out in 2021 at Federal University of Alagoas - UFAL, which aimed to develop a food product from pre-consumer waste of ice cream cones generated by fast-food companies in the city of Maceió – Alagoas. For this, we used Design approaches for the Circular Economy and Food Design for food sustainability, supported by empirical data collection.
