As-grown ZnO:In crystalline plates demonstrate strong near-band-edge emission related to exciton recombination (380 nm — free excitons; 395 and 406 nm — excitons localized in the impurity centers). Fabry-Perot mode structure is observed for last two bands. Dramatically increasing narrow line (396 nm, Δλ ∼ 3.3 nm) is connected with EHP recombination.

We analyze applicability of the ε" < 0 approximation to wave propagation in active material, comparing the results to the FDTD-based calculation employing more general Maxwell-Bloch model. It is shown that the slab thickness should be less than some critical value, corresponding to the divergence of the Airy series and to the start of the laser generation.

The resonant scattering of a photon by an electron through direct diagram was studied in the low intense pulsed plane wave. The resonant amplitude and the cross-section were obtained. It is shown that the resonant cross-section is several orders of magnitude greater than the nonresonant one.

The fine structure of the spectral distribution of the time-averaged radiation power of four electrons moving one by one along the spiral in transparent medium in relativistic case is studied. The regime of super-radiance in synchrotron-Cherenkov radiation spectrum of four electrons moving in spiral above the Cherenkov threshold is investigated.

We study de nonlinear optical properties of organic materials. Multiple rings appear as a CW Ar laser passes through a nonlinear organic liquid. The rings formation is due to spatial self-phase modulation and is observed with 50 mW of continuous wave of Ar laser. We show the dependence between power and rings formed. As a first approximation to value the nonlinear refractive index we use the number of the rings and power of laser in a cell of 2 mm of length.

We investigated numerically the reflectivity of aperiodic multilayer mirrors for broadband supercontinuum reflection. It was shown that multilayer mirror based on TiO2/SiO2 with layer thicknesses changed in the nonlinear way can provide high reflectivity from 468 nm to 1600 nm.

The process of resonant scattering of a lepton by a lepton in the field of pulsed light wave in general relativistic case is studied theoretically. It is demonstrated, that the obtained resonant differential cross-section of the scattering of an electron by an electron (an electron by a positron, an electron by a muon) in the pulsed light field may be several orders of magnitude greater than the corresponding one in the external field absence.

The experimental results causing the trench of subwavelength nanostructures formation in semiconductor's 4H-SiC surface and inside volume along the femtosecond beam path are considered. The given qualitative explanation of the observed phenomenon is based on universal polariton model of laser-induced material damage with extension of excitation the cylindrical surface plasmon polaritons and their interference with opposite wave vectors directions following the semiconductor's cylindrical rode metallization.

We propose ultra-compact all-optical XOR and AND logic gates based on multi-mode interference (MMI) without using nonlinear optics. Numerical simulations show that the least ON to OFF logic-level contrast ratio is 13.3 dB for XOR logic gate and 4.3 dB for AND logic gate in the whole C-band.
