Abstract Objective: Cancer illness is a stressful event that affects children’s quality of life. This study verified the association between coping and quality of life in 13 children with cancer (6 to 12 years old) from a public hospital in the Southeastern region of the country. Methods: The participants answered the Hospitalization Coping Scale and Pediatric Quality of Life 3.0 (Cancer Module). Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were applied. A high average of adaptive coping and coping behaviors, such as talking, playing, and taking medicine, were observed. Results: The results suggest a potential positive correlation between quality of life related to the domain nausea, which also showed high scores, and adaptive coping, demonstrating children’s difficulty in dealing with nausea, even after using adaptive coping strategies, and this domain was significant in reducing the quality of life perceived. Conclusion: Understanding coping and qualitywww of life may steer intervention in Pediatric Oncology.

Abstract Objective: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of an anti-bullying intervention carried out with adolescents from public schools. Methods: A longitudinal, quasi-experimental design was used, with pre-test and immediate post-test evaluations. A sociodemographic questionnaire, Cartoon Test, KIDSCREEN-52, and Social Support Appraisals were used. The intervention had four editions and consisted of eight weekly meetings, amounting to 16 hours. A total of 69 adolescents (12-17 years) participated in the study, 40 of which were allocated to the Experimental Group and 29 to the Control Group. Results: After the intervention, the Experimental Group demonstrated improvements in the adolescents’ perception of bullying, quality of life, and social support. The intergroup analysis indicated a better perception of bullying for the Experimental Group. Conclusion: From the data, it can be concluded that the intervention demonstrated its effectiveness and has the potential to be replicated in the school context.

Abstract Objective: This study aimed to test, using the Confirmatory Factor Analysis model, the factor structure proposed in the Intellectual Styles Inventory – Revised 2. Methods: The study involved the participation of 1,556 High School students with a mean age of 16 years and 4 months (SD = 1.17). Results: Confirmatory Factor Analysis was used and the model was based on the structure of 46 items distributed in nine dimensions, having demonstrated good rates of fit and accuracy. It was verified that the model originally indicated by the scientific literature was not confirmed in the Brazilian context, being proposed modifications that bring the current model closer to the national reality. Conclusion: There was an adjustment in the estimates of the parameters used, and stability and generality can be considered in the way the model was organized.

Abstract Objective: Depression and anxiety were disorders evidenced during the - Coronavirus disease19 pandemic. In this study, these conditions were evaluated as a function of Spirituality/Religiosity, as well as private prayer practices and attendance at religious spaces. Spirituality and religiosity have been widely investigated as health promoters. Methods: A sample of 1,293 participants completed the Beck Depression Inventory Primary Care, the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, the Religious Spiritual Coping Brief Scale, and a sociodemographic questionnaire. The group was separated into Spirituality/Religiosity levels, prayer practices, and attendance at religious centers. Results: An ANOVA concluded that those who pray alone daily develop lower anxiety traits (F (8,133) = 7.885, p < 0.001) compared with individuals who pray once or twice a year. Participants who self-declared to be very spiritual exhibited fewer depressive symptoms (M = 2.57, SD = 2.88) compared to non-spiritual participants (M = 4.29, SD = 4.07, p < 0.001). Conclusion: In summary, Spirituality/Religiosity can positively impact mental health.

Abstract Objective: The objective of the study was to identify in the scientific papers the variables associated with parental stress of premature babies’ parents through the graph analytics technique. Methods: This is a Systematic Literature Review performed in the CINAHL, Cochrane Library, Medline, PsycInfo and Web of Science databases. Results: The search yielded 12 articles that were submitted to the data graph analytics technique for analysis and visualization through the NodeXL Program. Among the variables reviewed, the following stand out: parental psychological distress, risk factors, maternal characteristics, child characteristics, environmental characteristics, parent-infant relationship, and intervention. The main symptoms associated with parental stress were depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress. Conclusion: The implementation of interventions aimed at the baby and the family’s well-being can minimize the conditions faced.

Abstract Objective: The present study aimed to analyse the social representations of Psychology in a sample of Portuguese respondents, thus contributing to a better understanding of the social meaning of this scientific area. Method: A free association task was performed by a sample of 205 Portuguese individuals who were given the word “Psychology” as a stimulus. Data were analysed using content analysis, supported by the Max-Qda software. Results: The main results show a greater diversity of representations compared to previous studies. However, the dominant representation in terms of intervention is still the curative clinic and the medical paradigm. Conclusion: This research made it possible to highlight the need for Psychology professionals, and the entities that represent them, to reinforce the visibility and awareness of the community in general, of the application areas both in the scientific and professional context.

Abstract Objective: This study presents the results of an internal validation of a successful transition and adaptation preparation for a post-career career program for senior adults. Method: A total of 10 judges, with in-depth knowledge in the field of vocational guidance and career development, were asked to decide about the congruence between a set of activities and the dimensions and the development tasks that constitute the rationale of the program. Results: Out of the total of 11 activities that make up the core of the program, eight were unanimously considered to be adequate for the intervention’s objectives, that is, in direct relation to the theoretical rationale, namely the dimensions and relevant development tasks. Conclusion: The results obtained demonstrate a good acceptance of the program by the judges to whom it was presented.

Abstract Objective: This study aimed to evaluate symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder and affects in health professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: Three hundred and seventy-four health professionals, among which 235 were front-line and 139 non-front-line workers, answered an online questionnaire consisting of socio-demographic data, identification of past mental disorders, personal experience facing the pandemic, the Impact of Event Scale, and the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule. The sample consisted mainly of physicians and nursing staff aged between 30 and 49 years. Results: The results demonstrate high scores of symptoms related to post-traumatic stress disorder, with greater expressiveness among front-line professionals, especially in the nursing staff, and a strong correlation of these results with negative affects. Conclusion: Psychological assistance and interventions directed to health professionals are urgent to mitigate the impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract Objective: This research aimed to identify the profile of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy supervisors in this country and to know their training to exercise this professional activity. Method: A nationwide online survey was conducted with 180 Cognitive Behavioral Therapy supervisors, 73.8% of whom were female, with a mean age of 40.3 years (SD = 10.03). Results: Among the main results, the intense academic training, training for psychotherapeutic practice and time of clinical experience (12.6 years, SD = 7.64) and supervised experience (7.4 years, SD = 7.26) stand out. Only 27.8% of the participants indicated having received specific training for supervisors and there was a lack of indications of training resources for remote supervision. Conclusion: This is considered the first research to outline the profile of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy supervisors in Brazil, expanding the vision on this professional activity.
